Then he saw it. Inside was a creature unlike anything he had heard or seen before. Vivianne too gasped in surprise!
It was a small feline creature, but what was strange was that half the body was white, the other half was black.
Rahu's expression changed, and he quickly put the cloth back on the cage, the creature was deep asleep, despite its tail wagging occasionally at the cage.
"What? Rahu, what are you doing?" Vivianne asked in confusion.
"We'll talk later, let's leave first," saying that, he dashed with all his strength towards the direction of the Divine Sword Sect.
Seeing his sudden urgency, she too followed behind. Soon, with their speed, they covered 35 miles(56 km) in ten minutes.
Rahu still continued to run with the same speed for the next five minutes before exhaustion overcame him. Vivianne, too, was right behind him, barely exhausted.
"Alright, now explain please, this mystery is killing me!" she said, her mouth unconsciously pouting.
Rahu nodded, signaling her to wait. Taking a deep breath, he calmed himself down.
"There's no way the stupid bandits could get such a creature just by stealing."
Just looking at this mystical creature, Rahu could guess that the bandits definitely didn't steal this someone. There's no way this creature could be this unprotected.
"My guess is that there was someone behind them, either that person was using these bandits to deliver these caravans to someone, or he went looking out for something," Rahu concluded.
Greed was good (for him), but the uncertainty of the situation wasn't. So he made the decision as quickly as possible. Unknown to him, this decision had saved his hide by a hair's breadth.
…
At the spot where the bandits were killed,
A masked man descended from the sky, his body was trembling not from grief, but rage, pure unadulterated rage that wasn't seen at someone of his cultivation.
"Shit, shit, shit these useless fuckers! They can't do a single fucking job!" the masked man bellowed in anger.
"If not for the urgent meeting called upon the leader, this, THIS wouldn't have happened!"
He quickly surveyed the area, looking for some traces, "The cuts on their body are too clean for some random cultivators; this must be the work of the Divine Sword Sect! Yes, this lingering intent, it was definitely them!"
He then spread his senses across an astonishing 15 miles! Then,
Nothing, not even a trace of that 'creature'.
The man came to a scary conclusion, his Mana burst out into the form of pressure, which made a hole 2 miles in radius!
"Divine Sword Sect, this debt, I will surely repay!" The man cursed before disappearing.
…
Presently,
"You…sure are careful," Vivianne said, clearly amazed. Although she wasn't entirely sure of that scenario, the way he observed, judged, and executed was…well, cool.
Rahu ignored her and took out the cage he was holding; the creature was still deep asleep.
"Should we…remove the cage?" Vivianne asked.
"Not yet, it could be stronger than both of us, and this cage…it's a bit special." indeed he had tried to brute force into breaking the cage, but it didn't even budge.
"Then what should we do?"
"Have you ever seen or heard of this creature anywhere?" Rahu curiously asked. He could tell that the creature was anything but normal. Its color was one thing, but the Aura it was giving away, it felt mystical.
"Nothing, not even in the scriptures of the Divine Sword Sect's vast library." Vivianne shook her head.
Rahu nodded and said nothing. Raising his hand, he focused on his core. The milky white energy that had flowed into him the first time he tried to absorb Mana.
Strangely, after that, no matter how much he tried, he couldn't absorb it, more like he couldn't sense it.
Just as he focused on his core, the [Dimensional Core], beneath his chest, gave out a dull hum, more like a harmless wave of vibration.
Instantly, the creature snapped its eyes open, it hurriedly looked around, its eyes landed on Rahu, and she had to say. This was the most handsome creature it had ever seen.
It was strange, Rahu smirked. "Rise and shine, Daddy is home~"
The creature, who was looking at Rahu, snapped back to its senses.
"Brat! Who are you? Wasn't I kidnapped by those masked bastards?" A soft, feminine cry rang out directly in his head.
The feline creature, who looked like a mixture of cat and fox, surprisingly spoke, its voice sweet and smooth like aged wine.
"Ho? So you're not just a cub, huh?
"Yes, though I don't know how I ended up in this cage, my powers and memories are sealed, and just now I felt a wave of pure [Dimensional Energy] wake me. Was that you?" The creature asked, tilting its head cutely.
"Indeed, little thing, it was me," Rahu said.
"So you can't get out of this cage because your strength is sealed?" Rahu asked, his smile turning dark.
"...Yes?"
"So I have a proposal for you: make a 50-50 contract with me. I'll help you get out of this cage if you accept me as your master. In return, I'll help you regain your strength and memories." Rahu finished the sentence with a smirk, waiting for the feline creature's reply.
The creature fell into deep thought as if weighing its decisions.
"And, I assure you, I am not a bad guy, you can ask this lady over there," he said, pointing towards Vivianne, who was looking around as if she didn't belong here.
Vivianne froze when two intense, probing gazes fell on her. She glanced at Rahu, who was smiling, but his eyes were sharper than the [Sword Aura] he had manifested.
And the creature was staring at her the same way, as one would stare at the exam paper after studying the wrong subject.
"I–I–uh… he's so—terr–I mean, good! Yes, he's a very good man," she instantly changed mid-way as Rahu's eyes promised a hundred spanks.
Rahu's 'kind' smile returned as he turned towards the creature, who was still a bit in doubt.
With an oh so merchant-like expression, he glanced at her," So what do you think? Ready to become my sla-partner?"
The creature, though she had a bit of a hesitant expression, in the end, nodded. After all, it was better than her current situation.
"Perfect," Rahu clapped his hands.
The creature closed its eyes, a drop of blood appeared in front of her face, its blood too was half black, half white. It was a surreal sight. Perfectly embroidered balance.
The drop flew towards Rahu and merged with his forehead.
Instantly, deep black and white chains coiled around his [Dimensional Core], surrounding it completely.
"Hmph, brat, do you take me for a 3-year-old?" Yet what happened next left the creature horrified.
