Chapter 20 - Chapter 020: This Guy Is Getting Bored

I continued watching Richard's face while everyone waited for the arrival of my husband.

He frowned, as if something came to mind.

Then his frown deepened before he slowly looked at Patrick, then at me.

I smiled wider. It seemed that he was starting to remember my interaction with Patrick outside the mansion a while ago.

He frowned again. This time, he must have been remembering the car I had arrived in..

"You..." he slowly said.

"Hmm?" I continued to smile.

"Who is... your husband?" he carefully asked, glancing at Patrick Sinclair.

"He's coming," I said.

Footsteps echoed closer, drawing everyone's eyes to the door.

The first to come into view was Harold, whose face seemed to have lost all its color.

How scared he must have been when the one behind the closed doors was none other than Kieran Sinclair.

Behind Harold, he appeared.

His presence alone brought a pin-drop silence to the room. As if even the sound of breathing could cost them their lives.

The cold, oppressive aura instantly permeated the room. Nathaniel and Alissa seemed to shrink in their chairs.

A sweet smile slowly bloomed on my face, my eyes forming a crescent shape. It was a smile much sweeter than the one I'd shown when I talked about playing around in the underworld.

I slowly got up from my seat and walked over to him.

Linking my arms with his, I faced my relatives.

"This is my husband... Kieran Sinclair."

Silence continued. Only the sound of the grandfather clock could be heard.

"This... is not a good joke, Lilith," Samantha somehow found her courage to speak.

"You... How dare you bring Young Master Sinclair here while he-"

She hiccupped.

Before she could finish, Kieran looked at her.

Even the others felt like they had misspoken, even though they did not open their lips.

I looked up at him, "Wow."

He met my gaze. I only reached his shoulder.

"So charismatic. You're amazing, honey. You can silence someone with just a look. And you're not even glaring."

"..."

"Oh, yeah, let's greet grandfather," I suggested.

Then I tugged at his arm and led him to Patrick Sinclair.

Kieran gave a slight, respectful bow of his head.

Patrick looked at him before looking at me.

I smiled at him, "We are greeting, grandfather."

I saw a glint of interest in Patrick's eyes.

"Hmmm," he replied.

Then he turned to Kieran.

Kieran returned his gaze.

Were they communicating through their eyes?

"Uhmm..."

After a few seconds of cold silence, Richard finally regained his courage.

"Young Master Sinclair... I do not mean to question you. But... you are... Lilith is your wife?"

I returned my eyes to Kieran while he did the same. He did not bother looking at Richard.

Something I quietly enjoyed.

Richard must be feeling very infuriated that the younger generation is not giving him any respect.

But can he do anything about it?

No.

Because Kieran is second only to Patrick Sinclair when it comes to having power in this country.

Kieran raised his left hand and showed his ring before nodding. His eyes remained on me.

I turned to Richard.

"You don't believe me?"

"That's not it. But..."

Of course, he wouldn't be able to find any words to describe what he's feeling now.

Kieran Sinclair and Lilith Kingsley never interacted with one another.

Kieran Sinclair never got involved with any ladies, and those who dared get close all disappeared.

He was decisive and ruthless. Many feared getting on his bad side.

Even just getting close to him physically, one would need a huge amount of courage.

But now, someone who rarely appears in public and even left the country for two years. Someone who just returned a few days ago got married to him?

How can they easily wrap their heads around that information?

I looked back at Kieran when I felt the shift in his aura.

His eyes were slightly drooping, and deep within, the coldness intensified.

This guy was getting bored with their reaction.

He must have had some expectations.

I shook my head.

"Anyway, my husband still has work to do, so we will be excusing ourselves now. Also, I will come to the company in two days."

As if on cue, Patrick also got up.

"We shall be taking our leave as well," the lawyer spoke for him.

The four of us turned to leave when I remembered something, looking back at them.

And because my arms are still linked to Kieran's arm, he too looked back, causing them to shrink back on their chairs.

"All servants are fired. Handle it. If I see them here next time, my hands might turn itchy," I said before turning to leave.

This time, truly leaving behind the relatives who thought they could finally take Kingsley Conglomerate for themselves.

...

Kieran looked at me when I also got inside the car.

"Help me out here. I have no energy to drive myself back, even though there are cars here. And I already fired all the servants, which means the drivers included. I do not back out on my words."

"..."

"I did not ask you to stay to enjoy the show. I would have had my way in introducing you since Sir Patrick Sinclair was there."

"..."

"But because you were still here, I decided that your appearance has more impact."

"..."

"I know their reactions are boring."

"..."

"I did not say that my relatives are as good as I am in entertaining you."

"..."

"I also get bored playing around with them. You have noticed that during the call."

"..."

"They are boring, okay. All of them are boring. So don't have any expectations from them."

Finally, he stopped looking at me and simply closed his eyes.

Michael started driving, and I closed my eyes too.
