The two of us woke up early the next day.
As for how we slept?
We slept normally.
Each of us is sleeping on either side of the bed.
No other business was done.
I woke up early because he has to go to the office, and I felt that I should prepare something for him. Not that he asked, but I just felt like doing it.
When he got down, he paused at the stairs when he saw me preparing the table.
"I'll just get the coffee."
The bitter scent of coffee permeated the kitchen when I went inside. Somehow, I found myself sighing before I prepared two cups.
'How about me?'
I paused, remembering a conversation from my first year abroad.
'It's early and it's cold, I also want a coffee made by you.'
I closed my eyes and shook my head.
Taking the two cups of coffee, I went out and found him already eating.
"By the way, I will be stepping out, and I don't know if I will be able to prepare dinner. So, if you are planning on coming back at the same time as yesterday. You should buy some takeout or eat out," I informed him.
I planned on cleaning up Christopher's place. Taking back his things just like with Amelia. Then I will start fixing their things in their rooms.
He simply nodded.
We then ate in silence, and soon he left.
While fixing the table, I realized that I had not asked him about some trusted servants.
I could only take a mental note to ask him this evening.
Before going to Christopher's place again, I decided to update the list of people on my wall.
As expected, almost all of them are from influential families. Though still not as influential as ours or the Sinclairs.
But even if they are smaller when they joined forces, they can take down a giant.
Now, Kingsley may still be seen as a giant on the outside, but right now, it is nothing but a shell.
Richard and Samantha are capable, but they couldn't compare to my father, Leonard.
With him gone, together with our grandfather, followed by Riven, they truly did not think about the future of the corporation.
Not that I care either, but for now, I'll take care of it. Not for anyone's future, but to make them feel the agony of watching what they desire so close yet still out of reach.
Once done with organizing, it is time to revisit Christopher's place.
...
"So you are the one who changed his lock and code."
I raised an eyebrow when I got there. Trying hard to remember who the person in front of me is.
"I have things in this place and I needed them, but I could not get in because of you."
"Oh, give me a moment," I smiled.
It seems that this person knows me, but is not bothering with my identity.
I opened the door for him and let him in, which he happily did.
When I followed him in, I did not forget to lock the door.
"Tsk, such a pigsty. And he was so proud of being a clean freak? How laugh-"
*BLAG*
"Urgh," he groaned.
I did not hold back when I slammed his head on the floor. Using his lowered guard and jumping a bit since he is taller.
"I remember now, just who you are," I spoke.
"You- Let go-"
*Blag*
"Aghhh."
"You were his driver. A trusted one, but you willingly drove him to those filthy places without a hint of guilt."
"WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!! LET ME GO OR ELSE-"
"Or else what?"
*Blag*
His head started bleeding with the force I put into hitting his head on the floor over and over again.
I had also placed my knee on his arm, which I twisted to his back, not allowing him to have any leverage in trying to push me off.
"What things do you have here?" I asked.
"I have a lot!!"
"None," I replied confidently.
"You have nothing here. You are just here to take what is his," I added.
I saw him a few times in the CCTV footage after Christopher's death.
The first was when he found his body. The next were a few times when he took some of Christopher's money and valuable belongings.
Not that I cared about those. They are not important, just some trinkets for Christopher's day-to-day living, so I did not need to get them back.
I pulled out a knife and placed it right in his eyes.
"So tell me, how does it feel? At that time, you betrayed him while you enjoyed his money now."
Seeing the knife, he finally understood that I mean business. That I allowed him in, not because I was stupid, but because letting him in means I am welcoming him to the lion's den.
"I... This is... There has to be some kind of mistake..."
I chuckled, "Now there's a mistake?"
"This.. This is a crime... you... you can't-"
"Oh, I can. I can do whatever I want right now because no one knows you are here. No one had seen you come here."
"The security... the security saw me!!! I asked them a while ago!!!"
I laughed, "They may have, but there are a lot of people coming in and out, do you think they'd remember?"
"Security camera..."
I raised an eyebrow before mockingly speaking, "Are you crying?"
I laughed, "Wow, you are crying."
How much in fear he must be to be crying now.
"You are such a coward, but you were arrogant enough when things went south for Christopher."
"I... I have no power-"
"Yes. The best excuse for what you've done. You have no power."
