"Get Gary to bring me all the marketing strategies he implemented since he took the position," I said, throwing the grand party proposal in the trash.
"Don't go too far. You are just starting," he finally threatened me.
"Starting, but you can't do anything," I said, keeping the authority in my voice.
He squinted his eyes, "Do you really think I can't do anything?"
"Isn't that why I'm still alive even though days have passed since the reading of the will?"
He scoffed, "I'm just letting you be."
I stood up, "Richard Kingsley. Do you think I am like Grandfather? Father? Or maybe even Riven?"
I walked closer to him. I am a tall woman, standing at 5 feet 5 inches, while he is just about two inches taller than I am.
"Richard... Richard... Richard, you really don't know who your niece is. Be careful. Your threats might return to you one day."
I walked back, "Go on now. Let's keep up the act. I know everything that happened was so unexpected that you currently have no solid plans."
I leaned on the table, crossed my arms over my chest, and smiled at him.
"I look forward to how you can flip this situation we have now."
He gritted his teeth, unable to say anything because I hit the nail right on its head.
"Now, do let Gary know I will need all the marketing strategies ever since he took the position, before morning ends. Every single one," I iterated the last words.
He harrumphed and left, slamming the door behind him.
I shrugged. I have no plans on letting them relish the feeling of me following their every whim.
Then I frowned upon remembering our height difference. Even Gary was just two inches taller than Richard.
Riven and Christopher were the tallest in the family, both standing at 6 feet 3 inches.
Thinking about it now, Kieran, who is a foot taller than I am, is actually my ideal type when it comes to height.
It seems that I do have some preference myself when it comes to men.
I shook my head at this thought before sitting back, waiting for the arrival of all the reports.
Of course, I did not ask for everything without knowing the exact number of projects that we've undertaken. Riven has already prepared that.
Even the rest of the reports, like the financial report and the marketing strategies.
The reason why this capable brother of mine allowed them to do as they pleased was so that he could get as much information as he could within the company.
Why he acted like a good nephew doing everything Richard wanted was the same reason why he took the poison willingly, even though he knew it was meant for him to die.
I looked around the office. I don't think much has changed here since it wasn't that long ago when Riven last used this. They must have planned to change things once everything settles.
Sadly enough for them, a will was presented.
After a thought, I gave Michael a call.
"Can I get the number of your family lawyer? There is something I wish to ask him."
"Okay."
Then the call ended.
I chuckled as I looked at the screen of my phone.
After a bit, a message came. It was the lawyer's contact info.
I gave him a call. It doesn't matter if they have ears within this office.
They can listen, but when they do, it is not my problem if their blood pressure rises because of how smart my brother was in playing them.
Because what I will ask is about Riven's will. How he was able to make it even though I knew for sure that Richard and the rest wouldn't have allowed it.
After a few rings, he picked up.
"Good morning. This is Lilith Kingsley. I just wish to ask something regarding Riven Kingsley's will."
"Very well, what is it?"
"How was he able to hand you his will and speak with Sir Patrick Sinclair?"
"The day Sir Jayden Kingsley's will was read, he spoke with me. And had an appointment with Sir Patrick Sinclair a few hours later."
I blinked, "...I see. Thank you."
"You're welcome."
With that, the call ended.
I walked towards the floor-to-ceiling window and watched the city spread before my eyes.
As obvious as it gets, our father and grandfather's deaths were not accidental. Riven understood and knew that it wouldn't take long for all of us to be targeted.
He knew it full well that he had also started his own plans.
If Amelia and Christopher genuinely wished not to see me wreak havoc. Riven has another reason for not letting me know about the deaths.
I crossed my arms over my chest.
"You did not wish to see me wreak havoc, but you also know that I am the only one who could return everything they did."
I feel my emotions go even more numb.
During the first deaths, he must have known that they planned something for my return. The first reason he did not allow me to know about the helicopter accident.
When he became more sure, he told Amelia and Christopher not to tell me about it.
The suffering they all experienced, I will make sure that these people will experience it even more.
How they killed my grandfather and father in that helicopter explosion.
How they condemned my mother, then ran her down.
How Riven died of poison and the work they forced on him.
How Christopher was tortured.
How Amelia was bullied and pushed off a building.
Every single thing they experienced, I will make sure to do more than that.
"Very well. I shall live up to your expectations. An eye for an eye. A tooth for a tooth. The debts of lives they owe. I will let them pay a hundredfold."
