I pinched the space between my brows.
Everyone followed my orders and brought everything before the morning ended.
With hundreds of projects, it took them an hour or so to compile and bring me what I asked.
Even Gary could only do what I asked his father to tell him to do.
But of course, he left some snide remarks. Something I simply smiled at him as he continued speaking. In the end, seeing as I was unaffected and he was the only one being riled up, he decided to leave.
As for how the files came to me.
Everyone could have used the cloud to send me the compiled files, but of course, I made them go through the trouble of bringing them to me through a hard drive.
The reason why Gary was even more irritated with me.
Imagine needing to use a hard drive in such an advanced era?
At the same time, I had another purpose.
Using the cloud to access their computers was fine. But making fun of them while getting into their computers is much more fun.
I laughed in satisfaction before I dove into work, reading and comparing them to Riven's information I saved in my tablet.
Had someone deliver my lunch.
Then my dinner.
Now that I was able to finish at least half of them, it was already three in the morning of the next day.
I checked my phone, but there was no message.
We are just partners in crime after all, shaking my head with this thought.
Maybe I can buy some coffee and breakfast from those 24-hour open bakeries or coffee shops. I had to finish all of these before I could move on to my next step.
I have to understand what Riven went through, not just with the information he gave me. I have to know how he tried his best to keep the company afloat despite all those trash projects that Richard and the rest made him sign.
I laughed coldly, looking at the documents I had finished checking.
Most of these documents are nothing but to fill their pockets. I noticed some conditions that gave the company some leeway. I can tell that those were made by Riven.
It would be fun to leave it to drown on its own, but the money I could get from it is a plus. Why should I use my own money to take them down? Let's use the money they desired so much to have to bring them down.
It is not like I wanted it in the first place. It was simply because it was our fate to be in this family and for us to be someone great. After all, our family was great.
So, I'll just use it and then throw it away. I'll just be using it to irritate these people.
To let them watch front row how I can make this company prosper and get all the connections they wanted, but they'd never get a taste of it.
I took my car keys and stepped out of the office. Buying some breakfast is a must. Meals are my priorities right now. To take care of my body and make sure that nothing could hinder me with what I plan to do.
But upon stepping into the parking lot, I felt it, and a cold smile bloomed on my face.
Just as I thought, they'd make sure to scare me.
Obviously, these people lurking in the dark aren't here to kill me. That would make everyone lose the Kingsley Conglomerate.
Instead, they are here to scare me and make me follow what they want.
This is a good morning exercise. I am feeling a bit stiff from hours of sitting and working on those documents.
I still have hundreds to check, and some exercise before starting again would be nice.
I just hope these people are up to par.
I glanced at all the cameras surrounding me before pulling out my phone, tinkering with it, and putting it back in my bag. Within it, I grabbed something else, and when I took it out, I swung my arm behind me after glancing at one car still parked there.
"Urk."
The man stared at me in disbelief as blood trickled down his neck. I estimated his position through the reflection from the parked car.
I smiled, "Good morning... and good night."
What I grabbed from my bag next was a foldable knife.
I enjoy using guns, but I feel the same when it comes to knives.
Because it made me feel hitting my target more. The moment the knife pierced through their flesh, and the warm blood that followed. It all makes me even more excited.
Soon, the rest came one after another.
They were a second too late in moving because of the shock from what I did.
I kicked the one coming from my left before grabbing the arm of the man coming from my right, then I plunged the knife into his arm.
"ARGH!!!!"
"Come at me with the intention to kill, or else you'd die without even having the chance to put up a fight. That'd be too boring."
As I spoke, I kicked the aching man on the stomach before crouching to avoid an attack coming from behind.
I turned my body and kicked him in the leg. When he fell, his neck welcomed the knife.
There are five of them, too few, but well, I can only be grateful for the exercise, so I should not complain.
Now the remaining three came at me together.
"No weapon? This is how you scare people?" I mocked as we exchanged punches.
I went behind one of them and twisted his neck before kicking the injured one, then I did a back flip to avoid the other.
When I landed, I did not pause and rushed to the injured one, grabbing his hair and slamming his head on the ground. I turned to the remaining one rushing at me again, then threw the knife.
His momentum and my expertise in throwing knives made it possible for the knife to hit him directly in his eye.
I then rushed to him who had fallen to his back, pulled out the knife, and pierced it into his other eye.
Then I stood up and turned to the injured one.
He had regained his consciousness after momentarily losing it from being slammed in the head.
"Give me a souvenir," I said with a smile.
