When I opened my eyes again, I was already in our room with an IV drip in my hand.
Did he carry me?
Or did he wait for someone else to bring me back here in the room?
Nevertheless, I feel better right now.
Though there was still a dull pain in my head, it was no longer as severe as early this morning, when it felt like it would explode any moment.
I looked up at the IV drip and, seeing that it was almost finished, I decided to remove it. I know a few things when it comes to this, so I do not need to worry about making mistakes.
Then decided to go to the other room to check that everything was indeed in place.
When I work and go at it with my everything, I make sure that no trace of me is left behind.
But because of my health deterioration, I needed to check whether I made mistakes I did not notice during that operation.
I checked and checked, over and over again. This is to ensure that no one would find any trace.
After making sure that everything was clean, I stretched with a smile before coming up with something.
I checked the security footage from this morning, wanting to see how Kieran handled the little incident.
My brow rose as I watched him carry me over to our room from the other room.
So, he actually carried me. Now that is unexpected.
However, I did try hard to find his twin, so I think this is just right, even though I didn't have much expectation beforehand.
I watched as a doctor came. Must be one of their trusted family doctor.
After some thought, I saved the footage of him carrying me, then checked the rest of the security cameras and found that someone was in the house.
I squinted my eyes. These people won't be able to come in if Kieran or I do not let them in.
The one in the kitchen is obviously a servant, but the one in the living room...
I slightly frowned before deciding to finally go down.
Then, when I reached halfway down the stairs, I stared at the elegant lady sitting on the sofa.
Am I getting to know my in-laws one after another?
The woman sitting in the living room was none other than Kieran's mother, Melissa Foster.
She was a renowned businesswoman, capable of going toe-to-toe with Ethan Sinclair.
She sat there elegantly. It doesn't seem like she had just arrived, but there was no impatience in her face.
I suppose it is in their blood to be so patient. Though Kieran was impatient, he did not get that trait.
"You're awake," she looked up and said upon seeing me.
I slowly nodded my head and continued going down.
"Aunt Fiona had cooked some porridge for you. You should eat, then have your medicine."
I blinked and sat down just in time for the servant named Fiona to come out of the kitchen.
"Uhmmm, do you want some coffee?" I asked, feeling weird that I was not offering anything.
Melissa smiled, "It is fine. I contacted Kieran after we got Karina back, wanting to know how he knew where she was so fast. He informed me that it was you and that you had fallen ill. So I told him that I'd check on you. We came here before he left."
Once again, I blinked. Someone from their family is actually speaking with such length.
"I see," was all I could say.
"This is Fiona. She is loyal to the family. Loyal in many meanings of it. She can be the one helping out in this villa. Some others will come once a week to clean up."
I remembered that I talked to Kieran about this, but he never gave me an answer. I guess this is already it.
"Their lives might end up being forfeited," I said.
"You don't have to worry, Young Madam. I am someone who can end my life as long as I can protect the Sinclair Family."
"The Sinclair Family?" I repeated.
Not minding the way she called me.
"You are now included in it," Fiona replied.
I glanced at Melissa, "You are now married to the Sinclair Family. Whatever comes your way is now something we will face as well."
I started eating the porridge with a bit of doubt.
After a few spoonfuls, "I am in the middle of the storm."
"And Kieran willingly entered that storm."
"You don't seem like you are against me marrying Kieran."
Melissa looked at Fiona, and Fiona bowed and returned to the kitchen.
"It is his choice. We never interfered with it."
"So, those news about you not wanting Kieran to get married..." I slowly said.
News outlets have reported that no matter who approached Melissa to marry Kieran, she rejected them all outright.
Melissa smiled, "Because you never approached me."
I slightly tilted my head to the side before understanding what she meant.
"They all approached you to get close to Kieran," I said.
She nodded, "Because they all feared him and had no courage to approach him. Some tried but ran away. What's the point of watching them make a joke of themselves?"
She leaned forward, "But you never approached any of us to get close to him. Instead, you went straight to him and even made him agree to whatever deal you made."
I continued eating the porridge, no longer saying anything.
I was just curious. Since I received the answer, there's nothing more that I want to ask.
Then I thought of something.
"I did ask him already. But I still want to make sure, not that I would use it against him, but I just need to know if I were to prepare the dishes, from time to time. Is he allergic to anything? He did not tell me anything."
Melissa looked at me for a good few seconds.
I shrugged, "Aunt Fiona can cook for him if I can't know about it. I just noticed he tends to cook for himself rather than eating outside. Just as I told him, I have no plans to make it difficult for my partner in crime."
