I lifted my cup and swirled the coffee inside.
"I was raised very differently from the rest of my siblings. Very different from the rest of the family."
"You... know many things. Is that it?" Ethan slowly asked.
I smiled, "Don't worry about Kieran getting implicated. Because I am someone who started learning different things since I was seven."
That's right, every single thing I have now are things I started learning since I was young. The reason why my family worries about me a lot.
In a sense, Kieran and I are similar in this aspect, we are different from our siblings.
Right now, I can tell that Ethan was not belittling Kieran but a storm is a storm. Even the sturdiest tree could be toppled over by the strong winds, especially when you are in the middle of it.
"I have many things under my belt that those people who call themselves, my family, were unaware of," I once again said with confidence.
After that, no one spoke again and soon he bid me goodbye.
I don't know if he got the answer he was looking for but he doesn't seem as displeased as when I first came.
But I also know, he'll keep an eye on me.
I think he'll only start seeing me differently once I turn things around in the company right now. Not that I needed his appearance to turn things around, because I plan to do that to make them all impatient.
I'll make it prosper that they'd want me dead as soon as possible.
The more impatient they are, the more they'd have a misstep. And those missteps will be my stepping stones to achieve my ultimate goal.
I went back to the villa since I am starting to have a headache from all the staying up I did. Not that I did not sleep for more than 48 hours but that I only took short naps in my seat.
Uncomfortable ones.
So, it is catching up with me again.
...
I frowned and slowly opened my eyes when I felt someone tapping my arm.
The security alarms are loud enough in my room for me to know if it was an intruder. And if Kieran were to decide to kill me then I'd feel his killing intent.
So the only person trying to wake me is Kieran without any intention to kill.
I opened my eyes, my head still felt like a hammer was pounding on it.
"What is it?" I asked.
His face was dark but it didn't seem like it was because of me.
When I checked the time as I got up, it was already 1 in the morning.
"Twin... missing," he spoke.
The first time he took the initiative to say something.
I instantly woke up, it means it is that serious.
I wracked my brain for his meaning.
"Your twin is missing?" I asked.
Kieran has a twin sister named, Karina Sinclair.
She was studying abroad and must have returned this time for the new years.
"Details," I said standing up.
He handed me his phone.
"She should have landed at 3 in the afternoon but she has not returned home and no one can contact her, is that it?" I asked again.
Kieran nodded his head.
"Let's go to the other room. It will be faster if I use my computer there."
He followed me without a word.
At the very least, at this moment, I can tell that Kieran still has emotions in him. Because he still treats his family as family even though he does not show it.
I stretched for a bit before I dove to work.
...
Kieran watched her hands move along the keyboard, her eyes remained in the monitors but her hands never stopped moving.
As soon as she started, different CCTV footages were displayed. But some would also disappear almost instantly.
He followed everything and could see that those that disappear are those that are not useful.
It didn't take her more than five minutes to pinpoint the moment Karina was pulled into a black van. His hands clenched into fists.
Even though he does not have that much of a deep attachment, he still does not like people targeting his family.
Soon, different angled CCTV cameras started being fed to Lilith's monitor. She was fast enough in following the black van despite all the routes it took.
He glanced at another separate monitor and saw there how all her actions were being monitored, every code showed what she did.
But as soon as another appear, the one before would disappear.
He slightly narrowed his eyes.
Every actions she took are being deleted making it seem like nothing had happened at all.
He was no longer shocked about her hacking skills because of how she had manipulated all those evidences on her endeavors.
He is honestly stunned at this moment with her real skills in playing in the cloud.
"Found her."
He snapped out of his thoughts when she spoke.
"I'm sending you the location. It is at an abandoned villa at the outskirts. They had just arrived a few minutes ago. Better call all your people especially those who are close."
Just then he received the location, then he sent it to all their people.
When he looked up, he saw her pinching the space between her brows.
"My head feels like it is about to explode," she commented.
He looked down at his phone when he heard the notification.
People are getting close to the place. Their people were already spread across the country that there are also those who were already at the outskirts.
"Oh no," he heard her say.
She looked up at him but her upper body was already swaying.
"You would be kind enough to at the very least carry your wife to the room... right?"
*Thud*
She collapsed on the table, the chair holding her weight not letting her fall.
He looked at her figure silently.
