Chapter 21 - Noodles and ultimatums

Scene setting

Park Heights condos, Manhattan

The Coven premises| 8 PM

Two days have passed since the girls moved in, and their touches on his home were evident. The minimalistic living room which had the couches, a single seat, a 4 seater, and the bean bag-shaped French imported seat he loved taking naps on has been put in a rotation from Jane's novel times, Faith's sketching and snack breaks, and Bobbi's seating just to annoy him. The bookshelf that rested on the wall, opposite the kitchen island, was rid of his woodwork books that had been delegated to the bottom shelf, and Jane's novels were alphabetically packed on the higher shelves. As for Faith, she moved to the room near the kitchen, took the vinyl player as her property, and occasionally wardrobe heist. Bobbi was the most assertive with her claims, the left side of my bed was her spot if she didn't feel like getting affection, her portraits were sacred, The coffee machine was put on 24-hour service, grocery shopping was approved by her as a way to regulate Faith's diet, and her bike was secured in the private garage.

The newfound family warmth was highlighted by the aroma in the kitchen. The pots were sizzling as chicken strips were cooked under medium heat, Faith had her attention split between the strips and her playlist dubbed #Late nights 3. Jane was tasked with stirring the noodles, doing a witch brewing potions monologue and Bobbi was chopping vegetables with militant precision, the tip of her tongue sticking out in concentration. Bo was monitoring everything like his own cooking show, tilting Faith's chin to flip the chicken, adding the vegetable mix into the pot and clearing Jane's bangs when she cackled for no apparent reason.

Wiping his hands, he smiled at them, "Good work team. No burned or the fire alarm going off."

"You didn't trust the coven to handle oodles and noodles?" Jane pointed the wooden spoon at him as if she were casting a spell."Don't think being the provider, prevents you from permanent dish duty."

"I'm so scared." He bluntly replied.

"Mxm."

"You two can continue arguing and let me eat your shares?"

"No." They synchronised.

Dinner went on with minimum chaos, mostly Faith's appetite reaching a 3rd bowl, Jane insisting on more wine for herself and Bobbi scolding them. Dish duty was assigned to Jane and Faith, and the pair turned scrubbing plates into a bubble fight.

While they were messing up the kitchen, Bobbi was in the shower. Months of tension released by the hot water, the scent of his Aloe Vera shower gel was pleasing, the feeling of the shower tiles somehow grounded her as she was used to her shower being one slip to a naked ER story. Leaving the bathroom, towel clutched to her body, droplets falling to the sides of her face and slippers he bought felt like a hotel gift.

"Bo?" She called out.

"Yes?"

"Is Jane there?"

"No, it's just me honey."

"Good." She replied, sauntering out of the closet to him, hips swaying under the towel, her exposed tattoos made alluring by the moisture and her stare was pure hunger, not for food but something more primal.

"Bo...I think it's time for a proper night without a pesky goth." Bobbi purred, her steps towards him were slow and calculated, and he couldn't predict her at all, just playing along with her.

"Bobbi...that look you're giving is weirdly turning me on." He chuckled, eyes nervous and a silent gulp.

"Sooner or later you're gonna do this with Faith. So time saves us both unnecessary fights, you're gonna make me forget the fact you're f*cking me and my sister."

"Wait–"

"No excuses Bo. You either man up or go sleep on the couch." She laid down his option.

"F*ck."
