Chapter 9 - Regretted decision

Alfred's POV

"Hey you!" I called the guard, who stood before me.

"Yes, Alpha." The guard responded as he walked towards me.

"Send a message across the beta and ask him to see this this instant."

"Yes, Alpha," he said as he took his leave.

"Urrh!" I let out a loud groan. "How on earth did she suddenly disappear?" I yelled out in frustration.

I haven't found sleep since I heard that her body wasn't found. It only meant that she's alive somewhere, maybe far or close, but she's definitely alive.

The doors of my chambers swung open, interrupting me from my thoughts as Sylvester walked in.

"You called for me?" he said as he walked towards where I sat.

"Yes, I did." I cleared my throat.

"Well, I'm all ears, and you haven't been yourself since you heard about her missing body."

"It's a relief that you have an idea of why I called you here," I said.

"What do you want to do? No one knows if she's alive or dead; it might be that some wild animal has done away with her body.

"No!" I interrupted him. "Don't tell me that! She's fucking alive, somewhere, somewhere close. I can feel her breathing. I once had a relationship with her, remember?"

"I ask again, what do you suggest that we do?" And where is the guard who carried out the orders? He should be here right now.

"Exactly! Where the hell is that scumbag? Can you imagine that I totally forgot about that incompetent fool? Oh, he's so dead!"

"Be calm, Alfred. I'm sure he has nothing to do with this. I'm having a feeling that someone saved her; can you remember the incident that happened two days ago?"

"What incident? Oh! the one in the forest?" I said, recalling the information I received.

"Yes, it was just one Wolf, and I think whoever it was has an idea about your ex-girlfriend."

"Please, don't get on my nerves!" I warned him.

"I apologize. That's the truth, so it's best if you accept it." He laughed.

"Someone should get me the guard who was in charge of Aurora!" I yelled, speaking to no one in particular.

"Babe!" I heard hercall as she walked in majestically.

I let out a heavy sigh, corresponding with a hiss. "What does she want now?" I thought.

Sylvester, seeing the expression on my face, let out a laugh of mockery as he stood to his feet.

"I think I should take my leave. It's a couple of moments."

"No, Sylvester, we aren't done with this conversation yet." I said, opposing him.

"Babe, didn't you notice me?" She yelled out.

"Can't you see I'm busy here? How long do I need to keep telling you not to interrupt me whenever I'm having a conversation or meeting for the welfare of the pack?"

"Welfare? what welfare? You're searching for her, and you call that welfare for this pack, huh?"

"Iza, you have no idea what you're saying, so just make use of your Luna title."

"Alfred, do you still want her?"

"What?" I yelled immediately.

"Why did you sound so shocked when you haven't had a bit of sleep since you heard her body go missing? Isn't that so obvious that you still want her?"

"Can you listen to yourself, you ungrateful bitch? I chose her over you! I sent out an order to kill her! I humiliated and made her hate herself, and all you could say is this?"

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to...

"Oh please! Spare me that crab! Didn't your senses tell you that if she's alive, she can come back for us, huh? fully prepared and armed? This is her pack, her inheritance, and she wouldn't take it likely, especially with you and me."

"Babe, I'm so sorry," she sobbed while walking towards me.

"Alpha, here he is." The guards announced as they dragged in the loose of a guard.

"Alpha, I swear that I stabbed her; I left her to bleed to death; she was already halfway gone when I left her." He defended himself.

"And who asked you for that information?" I scoffed. "The point here is, did you kill her?" I asked drastically.

"She was half way gone." He repeated.

"That's not the damn question! You fool, did you fucking kill her?" I said with my voice oozing in anger.

"No," he said in a defeated tone. I guess he was accepting his fate.

"So, you couldn't carry out a simple task? just to kill a weak woman, and you call yourself a guard of honor? Oh, please, do away with him." I instructed, bearing no emotions.

"Please, Alpha. I had to leave because I heard some rumors about a cursed Lycan king living around there." He voiced out, pleading.

"A cursed Lycan king? Oh please! Spare me that crab. I'm an Alpha, and I have information about other nearby packs at my fingertips, so you're free to feed that to someone else. Take him away; I never want to see his face anywhere close to my territory again."

"Babe, I've got something to tell you."

I silently groaned as I turned to face her. "Iza, this isn't the right time to talk. I've got lots and lots of things going on in my head, and I'll appreciate it if you let me be this minute."

"I'm pregnant," she blurted out. "We are soon going to be parents, and you're soon going to be a father." She giggled.

"What!" I exclaimed aloud.

"Yes." Isn't that great news? She smiled as she placed my hands on her stomach.

"Stop it!" I yelled, pulling out my hands. "I'm sorry, but you have to take it out." My voice bore no emotion.

"Take what out? she asked in a devastated tone.

"Whatever you're carrying in there, We have lots of things going on, and now isn't the time to bear a child, Iza."

"But.."
