Chapter 28: Fighting and Leaving
Inside the maintenance shed.
As Dr. Sattler restarted the power grid, the lights in the entire maintenance shed illuminated.
The facilities throughout Jurassic Park also resumed operation, completely preventing more dinosaurs from escaping.
But before Dr. Sattler could rejoice for long, a Velociraptor lurking behind the cables spotted the paleobotanist.
The hungry Velociraptor's brain was clearly not functioning well, as it directly pushed its head through the cables to bite the woman who was within reach.
Its massive body was then blocked by the cables, which also allowed Dr. Sattler to discover it.
"Ah ah ah ah!"
A sharp scream of terror escaped her lips, but the paleobotanist still had some composure; though she continued to shriek, her movements did not slow down.
Before the Velociraptor could free itself from the cables and catch up, she ran towards the outside of the maintenance shed.
At the same time, Muldoon, who had been alerted by Chris, also heard Dr. Sattler's shouts and immediately guessed she was in danger.
"Dr. Sattler, get out here now!"
Knowing the terrain inside was narrow, he crouched by the doorway, his shotgun already aimed at the door, waiting to fire the moment the Velociraptor appeared.
Inside, Ellie heard Muldoon's call and immediately saw hope, running even harder.
The moment she burst out of the door, Muldoon instantly shouted, "Get down!"
Seeing Muldoon's gun barrel, Dr. Sattler instinctively lunged forward, and then the Velociraptor also charged out of the door.
Bang bang! Bang bang! Bang!
Five consecutive shotgun blasts hit the Velociraptor's body, completely emptying the eight-round capacity of the SPAS-12 shotgun.
The Velociraptor's face was blown to pieces, more than half of its body turned to pulp, and even the steel door next to it suffered, covered in large and small dents.
"Hoo~ hoo~! Dr. Sattler, are you alright?"
Muldoon, having emptied his magazine, remained in position, his eyes never leaving the Velociraptor for a moment, panting heavily while expressing his concern.
He was so tense that his muscles stiffened, and for a moment, he couldn't get up.
It wasn't until Dr. Sattler looked up and back, saw the Velociraptor reduced to pulp, let out an excited scream of relief, and then hugged Muldoon, that the game warden who had killed the Velociraptor could finally move his body with effort.
"Oh, sorry!"
Noticing Muldoon twisting his body, Dr. Sattler realized her behavior had been a bit out of line.
However, Muldoon clearly didn't mind; he was more focused on the Velociraptor he had killed.
Hunting such a fierce beast had always been his dream, and now that his dream was realized, he even felt a sense of fulfillment, as if he could die without regrets.
ROAR ROAR ROAR!
An earth-shaking roar startled the two stunned individuals, and this familiar sound made game warden Muldoon's face change drastically.
"Run, the T-Rex is coming!"
Although he felt he could die without regrets, it was better to live miserably than to die well, and faced with the reality of the situation, Muldoon quickly led Dr. Sattler away from there.
At the site of the two Velociraptor carcasses, Chris was surprised to find his growing leathery wings gradually receding under his internal rejection, and before he could figure out why, he saw a massive T-Rex charging towards him.
Chris sniffed the bloody air and immediately understood that the two Velociraptor corpses had attracted this monster.
"Hehe, good beast, you know I'm running out of time, and you actually came looking for me. That saves me the trouble of finding you!"
Watching this apex predator, which had dominated the Earth for millions of years, charge at him like a freight train, Chris became even more excited.
Having eaten two Velociraptors, he had now reached the limit of his physical potential; his extraordinary body, which had not fully developed due to lack of nutrition, had now reached its peak.
The specific increases in strength and speed were still unknown, but in terms of height alone, Chris felt he had grown at least two inches.
This meant that Chris's strength would also increase significantly, by at least several hundred pounds.
So, on a whim, Chris actually dropped the long spear in his hand and, pushing off with both legs, charged towards the T-Rex.
He wanted to compete in strength with this prehistoric giant of Earth.
Otherwise, once Chris fully mastered his own strength, he would never have such an opportunity again.
Because once Chris fully stepped into the extraordinary realm, he would no longer be able to fight dinosaurs, who were also Earth's overlords, as a human.
The T-Rex's massive eyes were filled with confusion; it didn't understand why this small, skinny creature in front of it wasn't running away but instead charging towards it.
But since there was food delivered to its doorstep, why wouldn't it eat?
It roared and opened its blood-filled maw, biting down heavily on Chris.
But how could Chris, with one foot already in the extraordinary realm, be harmed by such a mundane creature?
Even if the T-Rex had an absolute advantage in strength, in terms of reaction speed, extraordinary beings absolutely crushed mundane species.
Chris twisted his body to dodge the T-Rex's bite, and he even counted the T-Rex's teeth with interest, then flipped onto the dinosaur.
Leaping onto the T-Rex's head, Chris then spread his arms, and with a forceful push of his hands, plunged them directly into the T-Rex's eyes.
As a more horrific roar sounded, Chris exerted force with both arms, grabbing tightly onto the brow bone edges of the T-Rex's two eye sockets, and then pulled hard.
With the cracking sound of breaking bones, the T-Rex's skull was directly crushed by Chris, and its brain splattered open.
Immediately after, with a thunderous crash, the enormous beast fell to the ground.
Chris himself was completely buried in the T-Rex's head, covered in cerebrospinal fluid and brain matter.
Seeing how easily he had killed the former prehistoric overlord, Chris was so excited he didn't know what to do, standing dumbfounded within the T-Rex's skull.
Then, he didn't know what possessed him, and actually reached out, touched some brain matter, then put it in his mouth to taste.
The moment it entered his mouth, Chris's body craved it again.
The flesh and blood of this dinosaur overlord was even more potent than that of creatures like Velociraptors, truly a supreme delicacy.
Realizing he didn't have much time left before his return, Chris thought about it and decided he was too lazy to go find the park owner to demand gene technology.
Anyway, with these dinosaur embryos, was he afraid that Stewie couldn't reverse-engineer this technology?
He simply retrieved his weapon and embryos, then sat on the T-Rex's corpse and began to feast.
It wasn't until Chris had disemboweled the T-Rex that he discovered a grayish-white wisp of life essence surging towards him.
Only then did Chris realize that the T-Rex had only truly died at that moment.
He looked at the T-Rex's massive brain and then sighed, "Big brain is good; it takes several minutes for the nerves to fully die."
The very next moment after he finished speaking, Chris's figure vanished from this world.
Meanwhile, having learned from Muldoon that there was a dangerous individual on the island who could hunt dinosaurs, Hammond immediately pulled up the surveillance footage to search.
Then he saw the entire process of Chris battling the T-Rex, and even witnessed Chris's sudden disappearance.
This bizarre scene stunned everyone present, and made park owner Hammond exclaim in shock, "Who is that? A Predator? Or some kind of super soldier researched by the military?"
To Hammond's wild guesses, no one present responded; even Dr. Malcolm, who believed in chaos theory, was speechless.
He couldn't make sense of it, only sighing that his theory still had major flaws.
As everyone fell silent, Chris had already returned to the Family Guy world.
