Chapter 5 - BROTHER

"How were you able to survive? Mom died in an accident while carrying you." Lucien said.

"According to what my foster father said, she did not die immediately," he said. "But she lost her memory from the incident. Long story short, she was rescued by a mafia leader, my foster father, whom she married for 5 years. Due to gang issues, she was killed alongside my foster father a day before we were all summoned here. But he told me about you before he died, and I was actually on my way before this incident," the boy said everything in the shortest way possible.

Lucien nodded slowly. "I see," he finally muttered. "But a mafia gang leader? He would have mistreated you."

The boy scoffed at his words. "He was a nice man, except for the fact that he trained me to be the next leader of the gang. I have assassinated over 20 people," the boy said, like it was only a trivial matter.

"Killed? What the hell have you been doing with your life at only 18?" Lucien blurted out, his gaze furrowing.

"You know you have not asked me for my name," the boy said, trying to distract Lucien.

"What's your name?" Lucien asked, scratching his hair nervously. "I was too engrossed in our discussion," he admitted.

"Levi," the boy said.

"Good name, now, let's go back to our discussion. What were you doing all this time?" Lucien asked, showing that Levi's plan to distract him was futile.

"None of your business," Levi said.

"If you were alone, you could have said that, but now you are living with me," Lucien replied.

"Only training to be a gang leader, learning diplomacy, negotiation, and all," he said casually with a sigh.

Lucien shook his head. "You are 18, the system should have allowed you to become a lord," he said, leaving discussions about Levi's past.

"I was given a choice to either become a lord or join an older relative," Levi explained.

"And you chose to come to me?" Lucien smiled.

"I made the most efficient decision, the two of us will handle it better than one, don't think there is any emotional attachment to my choice," Levi shrugged.

"Say whatever you want," Lucien said, throwing the talent orb in his hand at Levi.

"What do I do with it?" He asked, his brows furrowed.

"Drop blood on it to activate your talent."

Levi nodded, and without thinking twice, bit into his finger, drawing blood from his index finger, and letting it flow drop on the orb, before he cleaned the surface of the wound again.

Lucien, on the other hand, had his eyes wide open as he saw his brother cut himself without hesitation. 'I can't even imagine how he was brought up,' he mused.

The orb shone with white light before flying into his glabella. Next, the system popped up, showing the talent description.

Levi read the talent description calmly, his face barely shifting no matter what he saw on the screen.

"Tell me, which talent did you awaken?" Lucien asked, his tone mixed with anxiety.

"I can't tell you that, it is a secret," Levi replied with a subtle smile as the system closed.

"Why is it a secret? Even if you want to keep it to yourself, I am your brother," Lucien said.

"A brother I just met, why will I trust you enough to say my talent. Moreover, this world looks very supernatural; there might be ways to read minds, and that puts me at a risk," Levi said, drawing an astonished gasp from Lucien.

Lucien agreed with his thought. They were new in this world and did not know the extraordinary things that could happen.

"Would you come outside? I have soldiers and workers there," Lucien said.

Levi nodded calmly.

They both stood up and walked out of the room.

As they noticed their arrival, all 5 people in the domain halted their movement and bowed to Lucien. But their eyes constantly flicked to the person who stood beside him.

"This is my brother, Levi," Lucien explained, noticing their confusion.

Without wasting time, they all bowed again.

"Those two," Lucien said, pointing at Liam and Tiara, "are the only soldiers in the territory, the man is a warrior, and the woman is an archer."

Levi nodded.

"That young boy is the most talented in the territory; he has 3 craft-oriented classes."

Levi's gaze lingered slightly longer on Andre as he heard how valuable he was.

"Then that old man is helping with management, and the other one is the caterer," Lucien ended his introduction as he sat on the manor's pavement. Levi joined him, too.

"Harold, is the food ready?" Lucien asked."

"Yes, my Lord," Harold bowed, taking 3 sticks of meat wrapped neatly with a leaf.

He presented it to Lucien.

Lucien collected it calmly.

"Master Levi, I will go bring yours," Harold bowed again, before going to the pit of fire that was being used to roast meat.

In less than 20 minutes, everyone had eaten their own and were full to the brim.

Lucien patted his stomach in satisfaction. "Tiara, Liam, we will be moving somewhere shortly," Lucien broke the silence.

"Yes, my Lord," they both echoed in unison, not even thinking twice.

"You will just get killed by the monsters out there before you can draw your first breath. What the hell are you thinking?" Levi nudged from the side.

"No, it is related to my talent; we don't have to go outside," Lucien said.

"Ohh, do you mind sharing the effects of your talent?" Levi asked with a sly smile.

"You didn't share yours, why should I share mine?"

"Just kidding."

After resting for 5 minutes, Lucien finally gave the order to move.

'System, how do I activate the talent?' Lucien asked mentally.

[You only need to think about activating it]

The system replied shortly after the answer came.

A swirling blue portal appeared in their sight as Lucien gave a mental command to activate the talent.

"See you soon," Lucien said, before entering.

Behind him, Liam, equipped with his sword and shield, Tiara, gripping her bow, with her quiver, now refilled with arrows, strapped across her back, entered.
