Rise of the Feline Society Chapter 9 - The Rageblitz Club
The school bell rang again signaling the end of lunch and the students had five minutes to return to class. The time was 1pm and classes would resume at 1:05pm.
William was already in his seat now just waiting for the day to be over. Two minutes later Jack walked in immediately sitting in his seat.
"Why did you leave?" Jack asked.
"I got more chicken tenders," William said. "More than they would have liked. Please don't tell them."
"Why would I tell them? Jack smiled at William. "It's none of my business."
The school bell rang again signaling that classes can resume and Mrs. Bell began to teach.
One hour and fifty-five minutes past and the school bell rang again signaling that school was now over. The time is now 3pm.
"Hey Class," Mrs. Bell quickly said before everyone rushed out of the room. "I know you have one more day before the law goes into effect but I suggest that you select a club today. Tomorrow the club that you want may be full and you'll be stuck with a club you don't want. Everyone have a nice day! See you on Friday tomorrow."
At that moment William received a buzzing sound from his phone. He pulled it out but found no message on it. He heard a buzzing sound again and he rummaged in his pocket pulling out his now old phone since he had gotten his new phone from the Shadowfire gang but no message was on it either. He then remembered that he now has a burner phone that he got from Felix. He pulled out that phone opening it up and the message that he got said unknown user.
For the gang's future benefit, I suggest you go to the Rageblitz Club. The message read. I have special privileges so I'm going to go and finalize the details for the job tonight.
Another message popped up on the burner phone which he read.
Also, you can change the name to Fe since I hope to be adding new numbers to it soon. Try not to get banged up at the club. This one is a rising competitive sport. The message ended there.
William stared at the phone for a moment before changing the name to Fe which he assumed was short for Felix without revealing his whole name.
"You have three phones?" the voice of his friend from the side asked in shock.
William looked at Jack who looked more surprised than when he devoured the Chicken tenders.
Jack continued, "why do you have a burner phone William? That's when Jack's face went pale. "William are you in a ga…"
Jack was silenced when William's hand covered Jack's mouth a little stronger than he intended causing Jack to stumble back.
"Sorry…Jack," William apologized. "No, I'm not."
Jack looked at William wondering if he always thought he was this strong.
"Don't lie to me Will," Jack said. "Is that why you're so anxious now? Is that why we don't hang out as much? Is that why…"
"Fine yes," William interrupted in a quiet voice. "But don't worry I'm careful and you know I wouldn't have joined if my family wasn't in a bad situation. I have extra money so I thought I would treat myself first. I have enough to pay the bills."
At this moment and time William was mixing part of the truth with lies. Yes, he could sell his old phone and give the rest of the money to his mother to pay the bills. The unfortunate part is that because of his new Animorph problem he had to eat more which costed money and he didn't exactly want to steal especially if getting caught was high.
"Ok William," Jack sighed. "Please keep me updated. You know I won't tell anyone."
"I know," William sighed as the tension had died down.
"Energy reserve: 90 of 100," The system said.
William opened up his backpack eating four chicken tenders restoring his energy to 100 leaving him with 51 slightly cold chicken tenders.

Author's note: I will stop being exact in my math for food and money. From now on I'll just start rounding and estimating. It's taking way too much time. Now back to the story.

"Energy 100 of 100," the system said.
William opened up his settings on both of his phones and started to transfer the data on his old phone to his new phone which can still be done even after he started to use his new phone yesterday. Once he was done, he logged out of his account and power washed his phone.
"Instead of selling it I want to give this to my sister Sophie, but what do I say about the money conflict?" William asked aloud.
"Congrats I got you a new phone a month early because I couldn't wait," Jack said. "If you use this excuse then I won't actually be able to give you anything because my parents will raise suspicion about how I spent more than my allowance."
"Ok, thank you Jack," William said as the pair walked out of the room.
"What are you going to do now?" Jack asked.
"I'm going to join the Rageblitz club."
"The Rageblitz club?" Jack said his expression furrowing. "Since when did you get physical?"
William answered Jack with a smile. "Well, you know that I joined something that requires being active after getting promoted from being a transporter."
"Well, that explains it," Jack replied with a sigh. "I'll tag along.
The pair went down the school hallways heading towards the back of the school. They walked to the end of the school hallway and took the stairs down to the basement just before they reached the door to leave the school.
"I can't believe people came in and paid for this," Jack said nonchalantly. "It's like someone wanted to scout for skilled people at the lower tier cities.
William just nodded his head as he reached the bottom of the stairs and the place amazed him.
It looked like a miniature stadium surrounded an area that looked like a huge playground, jungle gym, and randomized obstacle course that is 20 feet high across the entire field. It was 180 feet in length and 100 feet in width. There was a small goal on either side along was two little sections that the teams would sit during the game.
The game was known as Rageblitz. The Animorphs participated in what was called the Animorph Brawl Fight, the short version was called ABF, which was just two Animorphs going head-to-head. Unlike what the Animorphs participated in, Rageblitz was the sport getting popular among the humans.
Rageblitz is a high-intensity, full-contact team sport where two teams of 21 players each compete to get a ball into the opposing team's goal. The playing field has a goal area at each end and the playing field itself is just a huge 20-foot-tall obstacle course completely random so you could traverse it in any way that you want.
The objective is to score points by getting the ball into the opponent's goal. Players can carry, pass, and dribble the ball through the course while avoiding opponents. Physical aggression, including fighting to injure opponents, is allowed and expected as part of the competition. Medical teams are mandatory to be standing watch while the game is being played. Matches are played in two 30-minute halves. Fouls or penalties are minimal to none with one usually being called for fighting when the ball isn't near you, with the sport emphasizing endurance, strategy, and brutal physicality.
The two boys were gapping at what they were looking at not expecting that something of this sheer size to be underground in the back of their own school.
"Why did I not come down here before?" Jack asked his mouth open slightly. "I can't believe I had no interest in even watching one of these games."
While the pair of friends were still looking around someone approached them from behind.
"William," a voice recognizable to William said. "William turned around to see his sister Sophie.
"What are you doing here?" William asked.
"The same as you," she replied. "I came here last week to watch a game and it looked fun compared the other clubs so I decided to join today before it got full." She turned her head to look at Jack. "I definitely didn't think you would ever come here."
"I wanted to be with my friend even with the risks," Jack replied. "I don't want to be bored."
Before she could say anymore, William pulled out his own phone from his pocket and gave it to Sophie who stared at it in her hands.
"Yes, that is my old phone," William stated. "Jack got me a new phone a month early for my birthday since he couldn't wait."
William then raised up his new phone showing it to Sophie. She looked at it for a moment before looking at Jack who just nodded his head like it was a normal thing to do.
Sophie sighed before speaking, "Thanks William for the phone. I guess I can now give my soon to be old phone to Lily after I'm done transferring my account."
William relaxed as there was another problem dealt with. Before he could do anything else a booming voice rang throughout the stadium causing the students gathered together to jump except for a couple of people who looked used to it.
"Who's ready to play some Rageblitz!"
A tall muscular man with short blonde hair wearing what P.E. teachers usually wore stepped out from a hallway that William guessed was the locker area. He strode confidently like nothing in the world could take him down and stood in front of the students.
"Some of you may already know me," he announced, and for the ones that don't, my name is Theo Grayson. You will refer to me as Coach Grayson. I would like to remind you that yes this is a club but there is also a team segment to this."
He walked over standing in front of Sophie and William who were looking at him like he was about to discipline them.
"You too look like siblings," he said.
"We're twins," Sophie said nervously.
That's when a smile crept across his face. "Well, looks like we have are two team captains!" He said with a still loud voice. "Twin rivalry." He laughed like he was waiting for this opportunity for a while. "Select your teams and let's begin to play…Rageblitz!"
