All the friends had already shut their eyes, because Emma's spirit was about to lull everyone into the sleep of death. As soon as Emma's spirit—possessing Sarah—raised her long nails to slash Robin's throat, Stephanie suddenly stepped between Robin and Sarah, holding up the enchanted cross. The moment Emma's spirit inside Sarah saw the cross in Stephanie's hand, it trembled violently, as if someone had poured boiling, scalding water over it. The very next second, Emma's spirit—still inside Sarah—jerked back, slammed against the wall, and vanished from there. In that same moment, Lily and Claire had also arrived.
Hearing Sarah suddenly scream, Robin and all his friends opened their eyes, only to find Stephanie, Claire, and Lily standing there—three people who had just saved all of their lives."Who called these frauds here?" Jennifer said in a sharply insulting tone, staring at the team of Ghost Mentors.
"You better shut your mouth. Stephanie, what are you doing here, and how did you know I was in trouble?" Robin asked, shocked to see her.
Hearing this, Stephanie hugged Robin first, then took off her enchanted cross and placed it around Robin's neck before answering, "I'm your elder sister. If you're in danger, how could I possibly not come to save you? As for how I got here—everything you guys are doing here is being streamed live online. That's how my friends and I found out where you all were."
Robin and Amily were relieved to see the Ghost Mentors' team, but Jennifer and Christopher felt no happiness at all—though deep down, they knew that if the Ghost Mentors hadn't arrived in time, the Emma-possessed Sarah would have killed them all.
"Robin, you know these people?" Jennifer asked after watching him talk to Stephanie."Of course I know them. That's why, when you were making fun of the Ghost Mentors earlier, I didn't say anything—because at that time you were my girlfriend. And I'd come to New York to introduce you to Stephanie. She's my elder sister." Robin replied, not even looking at Jennifer.
Hearing this, Stephanie finally realized that Jennifer was the girl her brother Robin used to like. But the way Robin said it startled her, and she asked, "Robin… what do you mean Jennifer was your girlfriend? You two aren't together anymore, are you?"
"Stephanie, leave all that for now. I'll explain it to you later—first, help us get out of here." Robin asked Stephanie for help to get out of the building.
Just then, Amily—who was a huge fan of Lily and her fashion sense—saw Lily standing right in front of her. Excited, she blurted out, "Lily, I'm a huge fan of yours! I even follow you on social media, and I try all the dress combinations you recommend!"
Seeing her own fan in front of her, Lily felt deeply proud of herself. She smiled at the girl and said, "I'm glad to know you're my fan. Don't worry—once my friends and I get you all out of here safely, I'll give you my autograph myself."
"But we can't just leave like this," Claire said, looking at Stephanie and Lily.
"What do you mean?" Jennifer asked, startled as she looked at Claire.
"I mean that the Ghost Mentors don't just save people from spirits—their main mission is to guide those spirits and send them to the afterlife. That's why we didn't name our channel 'Ghost Busters,' but Ghost Mentors. So whatever spirit is possessing your friend right now, we'll help her and send her to the afterlife as well." Claire said firmly, because she had already seen during the livestream how rude and arrogant Jennifer was.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Michael and Mercy had already purified the house after freeing it from the spirits."Mercy, I don't think there's any haunted place left in London where a spirit is troubling someone, because according to my data, this was the last haunted house in London. And right now, most of the wandering spirits in the UK have either returned to their graves or we've sent them to hell."
Mercy, exhausted and badly injured, was licking her burns to heal herself with her own tongue, so despite hearing Michael speak, she didn't reply.
"Mercy, are you going to say something? And please, stop licking your wounds like some dog or cat. It looks really weird to me," Michael said, making a disgusted face.
"Maybe you don't know, Michael, that animals heal their wounds by licking them, and their recovery rate is faster than humans. By the way, I know my wounds will heal on their own, but after working so hard, I feel like caring for my body a little. I may be a demon hunter, but I'm still a girl too—I also have my physical needs, which you're clearly not going to fulfill." Mercy replied, making a face at him.
Hearing this, Michael grew frustrated and got up, trying to contact Lucifer in hell through his magical ring, wanting to know where Lucifer wanted to send him next. But Lucifer was busy in a meeting with God at the moment, so he didn't reply to Michael at all.
Meanwhile, everyone in the mental asylum building was standing on the 8th floor, discussing how to get out of the building."Claire, Lily, let's first take all of them outside the building safely, and after that we'll come back to help their friend Sarah," Stephanie said to her two friends.
"Yes, your idea is right. But first, we should ask them who this spirit is and why she wants to kill them. No spirit harms humans without a reason," Claire said, looking at Robin and his friends.
But just then, they all heard the heartbreaking and sorrowful cry of a girl—someone around twenty or twenty-one—crying as if she was in unbearable pain. Everyone immediately turned toward the direction of the sound.
"Guys, ignore that sound, because the spirit is trying to distract us. Right now, just tell me who this spirit is and why she wants to kill you all," Lily snapped her fingers to draw everyone's attention back to her.
"Are you all crazy? How would we know why that insane ghost is after us or why she wants to kill us? You people are the ones who free ghosts, right? So why don't you ask that spirit directly?" Jennifer said irritably.
"Look, girl, wherever you're a princess of, the next time you open that gutter-like mouth of yours, I swear you won't be able to speak ever again," Lily warned her, glaring coldly.
Jennifer was used to ordering people around and keeping her friends under her thumb. And because she came from a rich family, no one ever dared speak against her. But the moment she tried to control the Ghost Mentors too, Lily shut her down with a threat that made her go silent.
"Robin, do you know anything about who this spirit is and why she wants to kill you all?" Stephanie asked, looking at him.
"Stephanie, I don't know anything either. Actually, I asked them the same thing, but they said they don't know anything about Emma. Today is the first time I'm meeting these people. Before this, I only knew Jennifer. She invited me here today so she could introduce me to her friend circle, but once we came here, I found out she was cheating on me. That's when I broke up with her," Robin explained in a single breath.
"So this girl is not only bad-faced but bad-charactered too," Lily muttered while glancing at Jennifer before looking away. Jennifer, already scared of Lily now, didn't reply.
"Then we'll have to hear Emma's backstory from Emma's spirit herself—because something must have happened for her to remain in the human world even after death and want to drag all of you into the world of spirits," Claire said, looking up toward the higher floor.
"To find out everything, we have to go back to the place where all of this began," Stephanie said as she took a candle out of her purse and lit it.
"But we have torches and the flashlight on our phones, so why are you lighting a candle, Stephanie?" Robin asked, confused.
"Because this is a church candle blessed with holy chants, and wherever its light reaches, the spirit won't be able to enter. Now tell me, where did you all set up the ritual to summon that spirit?" Stephanie replied.
"Adam set it up on the 9th floor. But he's dead now—she tore his head right off his body. But come, I'll take you all there," Amily said, answering Stephanie and leading everyone toward the 9th floor.
And Stephanie was absolutely right—the spirit couldn't enter the illuminated area. Because right now, Emma's spirit—still inside Sarah's body—was clinging to a distant wall, watching them head toward the 9th floor. Flames of rage burned in her eyes, because if the Ghost Mentors' team hadn't arrived on time, Emma's spirit would've already killed and drained all of them dry by now.
Meanwhile, everyone reached the 9th floor, where Adam's decapitated corpse lay on one side and, on the other, the setup where he had sat with his friends to perform the ghost-summoning ritual."Claire and Lily, both of you check Adam's bag to see if you find anything that can tell us why Emma's spirit wants to kill all of them. Until then, I'll check this Ouija board to make sure it isn't cursed," Stephanie said as she began inspecting the Ouija board lying there. Claire and Lily picked up Adam's bag and started searching through it, while Robin stood in one corner with his friends, watching the Ghost Mentors at work.
"Robin, is Stephanie really your elder sister?" Amily asked.
Robin smiled at her. "Yes, Amily, Stephanie is my elder sister. Even though we have different fathers, we were raised by the same mother. And we consider each other closer than real siblings."
"So basically she's your step-sister," Jennifer said sarcastically without looking at him.
"Just keep your mouth shut. You don't know anything about how relationships are maintained. For you, only sex and money have value," Robin shot back in the same tone.
Just then, Lily found Adam's handy-cam lying nearby—the one he always carried around to record everything. She picked it up and began watching the recorded footage, and within seconds, her eyes widened in shock. She immediately called Stephanie and Claire over.
"What happened, Lily?" Claire asked as she reached her side. Stephanie had also arrived by then.
Instead of answering, Lily handed the handy-cam to Claire and said, "Both of you… watch this footage."
When Claire replayed the footage, she saw the following:
"It was nighttime, and Adam, Christopher, Jennifer, Sarah, and Amily were inside a car. All of them were heavily drunk, and Adam was driving. While driving, Adam was also recording his friends inside the car with his handy-cam. Robin was nowhere in that video.
But suddenly, something collided with their car, and Adam—shocked—lost control and crashed the car into a barricade ahead. After this, Adam asked everyone what happened and what their car had hit. But all of them were so drunk that none of them saw what the car had actually collided with.
Then everyone stepped out of the car to check how much damage the impact had caused. At the same time, Jennifer and Christopher walked toward the exact spot where the collision had happened. Suddenly, Jennifer screamed and called all her friends over.
Adam was still recording everything with his handy-cam. When everyone reached the spot where Christopher and Jennifer were standing, they saw a man, around 35–36 years old, lying half-dead near the side of the road, his body bleeding from everywhere.
That man had been crossing the road when Adam hit him without noticing—despite the traffic signal being red. A lot of blood had already drained from his body, and he was desperately begging them for help. Sarah wanted to help him, but the rest of them immediately stopped her, saying that if anyone found out about this accident, they would all be charged with drunk driving and murder, and the law would punish them severely.
So they all decided to leave the man there without helping him. The man continued begging them for help, but these heartless people showed no mercy. No one stepped forward to save him.
In fact, Adam even filmed the man taking his last breaths and said, laughing, that he had never seen anyone die before, so at least now they'd have a video of a man dying—since this was their first accident. Hearing this, all the friends laughed, except Sarah, who stood silently, staring into the dying man's eyes.
After that, they all sat back in the car and drove away, and no one ever found out what happened to that man afterward."
This was the same video Adam had been watching downstairs… the video that brought back the memories of that night. And maybe he already knew that on that night, not just an accident had taken place—something far heavier had happened.
