The crisp morning breeze carried the sound of laughter and excitement across the Quidditch pitch as Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw students gathered for their first Flying class. Madam Hooch stood in the center, her sharp eyes scanning the crowd. "Brooms on the ground, hand over them, and say 'Up!'" she commanded.
Roy placed his hand over the broom."Up," he said calmly—his broom shot straight into his hand with flawless precision. A few nearby students gawked in surprise. Even Madam Hooch raised an eyebrow, clearly impressed.
When it came time to take off, most students wobbled nervously or lost balance mid-air, but Roy moved gracefully. His control was impeccable—smooth dives, effortless turns, and sharp climbs that looked more like an advanced Quidditch maneuver than a beginner's flight exercise.
Even the Ravenclaw students, known for their composure, couldn't help but stare in admiration. Roy performed a mid-air loop and stopped cleanly in place, the broom hovering as though it was an extension of his will.
Madam Hooch blew her whistle. "Excellent, Mr. Valvas! Remarkable control for a first-year," she praised, her tone filled with genuine surprise. After class ended, she immediately made her way toward Professor Sprout's office.
Later that afternoon, Professor Sprout called Roy into her office."Mr. Valvas," she said warmly, "Madam Hooch told me about your flying skills. She said you fly better than some seventh years."
Roy smiled modestly. "Thank you, Professor."
Sprout leaned forward. "Would you be interested in joining the Hufflepuff Quidditch team as a Chaser? I believe you'd be a great asset."
Roy paused for a moment, then replied, "I'll join, Professor—but only for this year."
Professor Sprout blinked in surprise. "Only one year?"
"Yes," Roy said politely. "After that, I plan to focus on my studies and other… pursuits."
After a thoughtful pause, Professor Sprout nodded. "Very well. I'll respect your decision. Welcome to the team, Mr. Valvas."
Roy thanked her and left the room quietly.
Moments later, Sprout sent a message to the Hufflepuff team captain, Ethan Chambers, a tall sixth-year known for his steady leadership. When Ethan arrived, Professor Sprout greeted him.
"Ethan, I've found your new Chaser," she said with a pleased smile.
Ethan blinked. "A Chaser already? Who is it?"
"Roy Valvas," she replied. "Madam Hooch herself recommended him. She said his flying was among the best she's seen in years."
Ethan looked stunned. "Roy Valvas? The Roy Valvas?" He whistled softly. "I've heard about him already, but didn't think he'd join Quidditch…"
Sprout chuckled. "He's agreed to play—but only for this year. Make the most of it."
Ethan nodded, already imagining how unstoppable his team might become with Roy flying for Hufflepuff.
The next day at breakfast, the Great Hall buzzed with two major announcements.
First, Harry Potter had been recruited as the youngest Seeker in a century for the Gryffindor team. Ron Weasley's voice carried across the hall as he bragged to anyone who'd listen: "Harry's my best mate, you know! You should've seen him fly—brilliant, absolutely brilliant!"
But before the excitement could settle, another ripple of news spread among the students. "Did you hear? Hufflepuff has a new Chaser too—also a first-year!"
"What? Another first-year player?" someone gasped.
"Yeah—his name's Roy Valvas!"
The chatter grew louder."Wait, the Roy Valvas? The one Snape actually gave points to?""And the potion prodigy?""He's a Chaser now? That's crazy!"
Within minutes, the Great Hall erupted in excitement. Two prodigies—one from Gryffindor and one from Hufflepuff—had just entered the Quidditch world at the same time.
Over at the Gryffindor table, Ron's face turned green with jealousy. He scowled into his plate, muttering under his breath, "Show-off... always trying to outshine Harry…"
Meanwhile, Harry looked genuinely pleased when he heard the news. "That's great for Roy," he said with a smile. "Maybe we'll play against each other someday."
Roy, seated calmly among his Hufflepuff friends, noticed the looks of awe and admiration from nearby students—but simply smiled.
Across the hall, Hermione, Daphne, and Cassandra exchanged knowing glances, pride flickering in their eyes."He's amazing," Daphne whispered."Of course," Cassandra said softly, smiling to herself. "He's Roy."
