I opened the commemorative special edition. It was filled with introductions to Navigating School Life, game scenes, and screenshots of players in the game. I saw myself in several screenshots, just as King hua had told me.
Huh? Why does the boy holding the long spear in this screenshot look so similar to the images I keep seeing whenever I wear the smart glasses lately?
"Is this person really me?" I pointed to a screenshot showing me, Xin Hui, and Zi Qian confronting a boy wielding a long spear. "And also, who is this guy?"
"This boy is Wei Syuen, one of the level bosses in the game," Xin Hui said after glancing at the screenshot. "Back then, Zi Qian and I didn't know your account level was very high. When we saw you charging towards Wei Syuen without listening to our advice, we were really sweating bullets for you!"
I casually flipped through a few more pages and noticed a photo tucked inside one of them. In the photo, I was happily and somewhat narcissistically holding a medal, standing on the podium and giving a "victory" sign to the camera with a big smile.
"What competition is this medal from?" I asked.
"The 100-meter dash," Xin Hui replied, smiling as she looked at the photo. "You were especially happy standing on the podium that day, and afterwards, you kept holding that medal and grinning goofily. I remember you said it was the first medal you'd ever won in your life."
I stared at the photo, thinking, "Now I have both witnesses and material evidence, so did I really enter the game on April 1st?"
"By the way, the launch ceremony for this game is the day after tomorrow at 3 PM. The school has arranged a bus for all the class representatives who participated in the game. Both Zi Qian and I are going, you should come too!" Xin Hui handed me a yellow ticket. "Even though you still can't remember what happened in the game, I hope you can attend with Zi Qian and me."
The ticket read: Tian Xiang Company's New Product — Navigating School Life Launch Ceremony VIP Ticket.
"Lately, I've been playing your favorite virtual game, War Simulation, with my younger brother. If there's a chance, let's team up together. I haven't always had the best attitude towards my brother, but after you criticized me in the game, I realized my mistake and decided to try to get along better with him."
Hearing Xin Hui say this, I immediately looked up at her and asked, "I criticized you? Did we have an argument in the game? I..."
"Don't be nervous, I'm genuinely grateful that you opened my eyes in the game. How should I put it? I remember you told me in the game that everyone feels jealousy, but we can't let this unbalanced mindset affect our ability to judge right from wrong... Anyway, the fact that my relationship with my brother has improved is all thanks to you."
Just then, a "knock knock" sound came from the doorway, followed by a deep voice: "Sorry to interrupt."
