Everything happened on April 1st – falling down the stairs, Navigating School Life, and being robbed in the hospital... The common thread is that I have no memory of any of these three events.
So why did I forget these three things?
It's probably due to the localized amnesia caused by the head injury I sustained during the robbery in the hospital room.
Wait, being robbed in the hospital?!
I didn't have any valuable items with me while hospitalized. What could the robber have possibly wanted?
Another thing, according to my memory, Navigating School Life was in its beta version released in April. The game took place in the school's VR experience room, and players needed the special game smart glasses distributed by the company that day to access it.
I wasn't at school, and more importantly, I didn't have those exclusive game smart glasses. So how could I have entered the game?
Everything is so messy; all the events don't connect into a complete picture.
I scratched my head in frustration.
Just then, a girl with a high ponytail, holding a book in her hand, walked over to me and asked with concern, "Wu yi, what's wrong? What's troubling you so much?"
Her name is Lai Xin Hui, the class monitor. Xin Hui has a petite build and isn't very tall. Her doll-like face, with a hint of baby fat, features large, sparkling eyes and small, cherry-red lips. Xin Hui has the nickname "Beauty Scholar" because she's not only good-looking but also academically excellent, ranking first in the entire fifth grade.
She has also been very caring towards me since my accident. During my hospital stay, she and Zi Qian often visited me together, brought me schoolwork, lent me their notes, and even helped me with homework.
"Monitor, did I really play that game called Navigating School Life with you and the vice-monitor?" I suddenly remembered that Xin Hui was also one of our class representatives in that virtual game. "Why didn't either of you mention it when you visited me in the hospital?"
"Because you lost your memory," Xin Hui replied with a gentle smile, revealing cute dimples on her cheeks. "You were having frequent headaches back then, and we didn't want to say anything that might upset you. We thought we'd wait until you were feeling better."
"So you really saw me in Navigating School Life?" I pressed further.
"Yes! We had a great time playing together." Han Han nodded. "Thanks to you joining, our class didn't end up in last place."
"Can you tell me about what happened in Navigating School Life?" I ran my fingers through my hair. "This whole thing is really bothering me; I want to know what actually happened."
"Sure!" Xin Hui handed me the book she was holding. "This is the 'Navigating School Life' Beta Version Commemorative Special Edition. Take a look inside. There are screenshots of us in the game; it might help jog your memory."
