Chapter 7 - Westmarch Academy

Such distance would have been nothing if he were his old self, but currently, he was running like a criminal on the loose.

As Ragna moved forward, the cursed fragment soul kept giving him directions, at the same time he saw moving mechanical vehicles, unlike his previous world, where monsters and teleportation were the only means of transportation.

Ragna had a look of amazement. From the previous Ragna's memories, he could see that this world was more advanced than in his own, but experiencing it firsthand made him even more surprised.

There were both vehicles that moved on the road and in the air, giving an age of technology vibe to it, and in front of him was one of the more popular places, Crimson City. Just like the name, most of the buildings seemed to have a red brilliance to them.

On the roads were large floating billboards advertising different things. It didn't take long for him to see a public moving vehicle; people could be seen rushing into it as if afraid the space would fill up in no time, and Ragna did the same.

The vehicle seemed to be big enough to fit thirty people at once; however, at this moment, there were up to fifty in it, as everyone seemed to be in a hurry.

As Ragna got in, he held one of the handles around him as the vehicle jolted to life and accelerated.

-Thirty minutes later,

Ragna arrived at a large-looking building. It was pretty large and comparable in size to the emperor's castle in his original world.

In front of it were boldly written words at the entrance.

"WESTMARCH ACADEMY"

Around him were tall silver and gold like buildings, each serving different purposes in the academy.

It exalted luxury as most of the people walking towards had looks of pride and nobility, since Crimson City was one of the major cities in their galaxy, and every academy within its premises was of high class.

And among these academies, Westmarch was said to be in the top three, meaning it attracted those with power and influence alike.

After observing the building for a while, Ragna began to run towards his class.

On his way, he could see many students using their abilities to help them move faster; however, most of them just wanted to flaunt their high-ranked abilities. Unlike the others, Ragna couldn't be bothered with showing off his abilities.

However, just by taking a look at most of them it gave him a general idea of the type of abilities used in this world, from this he was able to confirm that there were not much difference between the way abilities were being controlled in this world and magical abilities in his original world.

Rather, it seemed that this world's methods were still primitive and had only begun to deepen their understanding of their abilities. Ragna thought, while using the previous Ragna's memory to navigate his way to his class block.

With his appearance in the academy, Ragna could already notice the weird looks in the eyes of the other students; it was a mixed look of pity, disgust, and mockery.

Light murmurs and mumbling could be heard wherever he passed, even though the previous Ragna was still an awakener, but with everyone being aware of his bloodline being low class and dormant and never growing stronger, even those who were still low class all mocked him.

His case was particularly unique and stood out among other low-class awakeners in the academy. At the same time, another reason why he was negatively popular, besides being a failed awakener, was because he had once written a love letter for the most beautiful girl in the academy and was found out.

While the girl didn't particularly care about his heartfelt love letter confessing his likeness for her, her crushers couldn't be said to do the same.

His bullying got even worse after that; they were so mad that some of them, who had always wanted to get in her good book, saw him as the perfect scapegoat to show off their bloodlines in front of her.

Ragna grunted inwardly.

The previous Ragna seemed to have truly lived a shifty life, while he didn't care about what life the previous Ragna had lived before his death, since he had been reborn into this body, he wasn't going to let himself be bullied.

After a while, he finally arrived before a large building block that he confirmed from his memories to be his class.

'Even though I had become a cursed one, this amount of movement still exerted fatigue on my body, I guess it's because of how shitty this body was.'

Ragna was currently in the block for the third year, and after this year, he would be able to graduate from the academy.

According to the memories, while the previous Ragna might be called a failed awakener, subject-wise, he was brilliant than most of the students.

Unfortunately, in a world where powerful abilities were everything, even someone as brilliant as him wasn't seen as special.
