Chapter 10 - Thoughts

While the cursed fragment soul was exasperated, his classmates gave him weird stares, upon hearing what he said, but they couldn't say anything because Miss Levy was quiet.

Ragna was silent after saying that, and stared at the teacher in front of him, his expression completely deadpan and sleepy, but Miss Levy didn't say anything, however, anyone could tell she was annoyed.

Her eyes lingered on him for a while; she seemed to be in a daze, as if trying to process the gibberish he had just said.

'Oh my God, she's definitely going to punish us!'

"The idiot is definitely fucked!"

Some of the students were already wondering what sort of punishment she was going to give Ragna when, all of a sudden, she muttered a single word.

"Sit."

After she said that, she walked back to the front of the class, giving him a deep glare.

'Wait, for real, your nonsense was the correct answer?'

It wasn't only the cursed fragment soul that was shocked, the entire class was also shocked by the sudden and unexpected reaction of Miss Levy.

The whole class stared at Ragna with bewilderment as if he had bewitched her, no one expected the gibberish he had just said to actually be accepted as the answer.

"Ragna, answer although barely passable is indeed correct, for an ability user practicing and constantly channeling your ability energy, is like slowly pouring a stream of water into a vase until it's filled."

The students were shocked once more and looked at him.

Of course, they didn't expect Miss Levy, the devil's teacher, to actually accept such an answer; it was the exact opposite of her character.

Anyone who knew her understood how thorough your answer must be before you reply to her questions, unless you wanted your points deducted, and since her class was one of the most important classes in the academy, everyone was afraid of getting their points deducted, since it could affect their overall graduation results.

Miss Levy turned to stare at Ragna once more and gave him a deep look.

When she had seen him sleeping in her class, she had found it to be weird, cause everyone was aware of what it means to get on her bad side, but the answer he gave in return was even more surprising and weird.

It wasn't exactly complicated, but it still had some meaning to it. She had heard how unique he was among other students, not in a special way, since his ability was stated to be dormant ever since he failed to awaken.

But today she felt it was more than just that, and made her doubt if he truly was a failed awakener or not.

Meanwhile, Ragna was still sleepy but held it in. From his memories, he could tell the teacher was smart, so he didn't exactly need to start saying complicated things as answers. At the same time, he had a backup answer if the first one wasn't enough.

"Next time shut the fuck up."

Ragna said beneath his breathe, toward the cursed fragment soul, even though he was aware of why it was making a fuse, Ragna thought it was annoying and didn't need it causing such a rift, at the same time he could perceive it was feeling remorse about its reaction but Ragna didn't care rather he thought it was better to let it know it was a nuisance than letting it interfere with every decision he made.

Since it was only going to create more trouble in the future if he didn't.

'However, I should try to avoid sleeping in classes to avoid getting any points deducted, my overall graduation score is already azz, I don't want to repeat classes.'

The cursed fragment soul seemed to brighten up when he thought this.

Soon the class was over, and Miss Levy was done teaching. On her way out, she couldn't help but remember Ragna's weird answer to her question.

'He may not be a failed awakener as everyone thought. I wonder if he's just pretending?'

She thought for a while, eventually she shook away these thoughts from her head, whether he was pretending or not was not her concern.

Eventually, academic hours were over, and Ragna could be seen walking out of the academy premises.

While he trekked back home, he couldn't help but think about the daily quest.

'I wonder how much stronger I will be able to become just from completing these daily quests?'

As the strongest Cursed one in his original world, Ragna was confident even without the interface that he could become stronger; however, after using the system for a while, he was even more confident that he could become stronger than he was in his original world, and in a shorter period of time.

The benefits of using the interface seemed to increase the more he used and understood it; however, he was also aware that all these came with a price.

This was his line of reasoning as a cursed one in his original world. Since he was aware of the true nature of the cursed system, it was anything but a saint.

Ragna remembered when he became a Cursed one, and how it came with a hefty price, which was his humanity and freedom.
