That day, Ragna left the academy in the evening due to the incident at the cafeteria. The disciplinary hall was where he spent his remaining school hours.
The disciplinary was filled with commotion.
"Ragna, how could you harm your classmate?"
"They ruined my food!"
Ragna retorted.
"The reason for harming your classmates was because of food?"
"Yes"
Ragna nodded, still pissed about half of his food being wasted.
His answer seemed to cause even more uproar in the disciplinary hall; they were expecting him to say self-defense or that he was being bullied, but it was because of food!
The disciplinary hall teachers didn't know whether to laugh or be angry at him.
"Henceforth, you are not permitted anywhere within one hundred feet of Hansen and his friends!"
"You're also to tender an apology to them!"
"Your punishment for the next three months will be working at the cooking lounge, and joining the janitor in keeping the academy premises clean!"
"Most importantly, if you're reported for harming any of your classmates during this period because of food, you will be expelled!"
During the whole uproar in the disciplinary hall, the offender, Ragna, was still thinking about the food that was ruined and what he would eat when he got home, as for whatever they were saying, he didn't give two fucks about them.
To him, it was more than justifiable to beat three brats because they ruined his only meal for the day, as he remembered the gruesome scene of the food being wasted, he felt he didn't give them enough beating.
As for the teachers saying he harmed his fellow students, he only thought he was giving them ancestral discipline.
If they had minded their business, he wouldn't have bothered about what they did to other students; he wasn't some Saint anyway. At the same time, none of the students stood up for him when the previous Ragna was bullied.
Just thinking about what happened in the cafeteria, Ragna felt he had not only grown soft but also weak; if he still had his previous world level of power, just a tiny aura from his body would have turned them into a bloody mist.
The fact that his punches only left the students barely unconscious was proof of how weak he still was, however, he wasn't that worried since he was still recovering his power.
After he left, the entire disciplinary hall was silent, as they replayed the video of the incident. It was not a new discovery that Ragna's younger nephew was the strongest in the middle school currently and had been tested to have a high-rank mage ability.
However, Ragna was the polar opposite since he was more popular than his younger nephew because of his dormant ability and being a failed awakener; however, the fact that he could take on students who had not only awakened their abilities but were also above middle rank abilities was nothing short of a surprise.
They kept replaying the video to see if maybe it was a glitch, but no matter how much they replayed it, nothing changed.
There were several suspicions, among them was that Ragna had used an enhancement ability elixir, the last one, which was even more unbelievable, was that he had been hiding his powers.
Neither of the two was believable, but that was the only conclusion they could come to.
Unfortunately, they could not get any information from Ragna, as he seemed not to know anything or answer their questions, except for the food part.
Eventually, they concluded that an investigation would be carried out to figure out the truth behind Ragna's explosive strength.
After Ragna left the disciplinary hall, he kept thinking about how his food was ruined, and eventually he threw the thoughts away, since no matter how much he thought about it the food wasn't coming back.
Meanwhile, the cursed fragment soul was still reeling in shock at what happened at the cafeteria. It was the first time it had fought back against its bullies and won.
Even though it was aware that the current Ragna was not him and it was dead, the cursed fragment soul still felt like it had been the one beating up the bullies.
It was even more shocked by Ragna one shoting the trio's, back then when it still had its body it had always been the one on the receiving end, and could do nothing because of how weak it was, so it was really happy this was the first time it had thought committing suicide wasn't a bad decision.
At the same time, it was the first time it finally acknowledged the fact that Ragna likely wasn't lying about being extremely strong in his original world.
[Hidden quest completed]
'Huh?'
Ragna, who was previously lost in thought about his food being ruined, had a look of surprise on his face when he suddenly saw the interface appear in front of him.
Ragna left the road to the side, as he opened the message he had gotten.
[Hidden quest completed (1)]
[Quests title:Test your ability against an opponent, kill or inflict serious wounds]
[Quest rewards: 1000 exp, + 2 attribute points, Dash level up]
'Turns out the beating wasn't in vain, at least I got something in return for my food being ruined!'
Ragna smiled.
Even though he had given the trio a beating, he still felt indignant about it; however, with the rewards he got from the Hidden quest, his mood brightened up.
As for him not filling his stomach completely, he was going to force himself to stay like that. Just then, he soon noticed the hidden quest wasn't the only one he had gotten, and that there was another one, and when he touched it, a set of new information displayed itself, making a smile creep up his face.
[Cursed One has marked three souls to become Cursed Fragment Souls!]
[Marked souls would never be able to escape your grasp until death do you apart!]
[Would you like to locate Marked souls?]
A cruel glee appeared in Ragna's eyes when he saw the message, he was sure the three souls were definitely none other than the trio he had beaten at the cafeteria.
Although he wasn't sure how he had been able to mark them, Ragna thought it was likely due to the anger of seeing his food being ruined.
Nevertheless, Ragna was ecstatic about it. He had been wondering where to get more abilities since he would need to absorb cursed fragment souls of living beings first before acquiring their abilities, but thanks to the trio, he didn't need to look any further.
After thinking for a while, he closed the interface, although he was eager to acquire new abilities, he thought it wasn't the right time since he was still under punishment, and if anything were to happen to them, he would likely be their suspect.
Afterwards, he decided to open the interface to distribute the free attribute points he got.
