Chapter 27: Natasha and Steve Show Up at the Door
Normally, spirits were divided into white, green, blue, red, and purple.
Only spirits at the green level or higher contained death energy that he could absorb.
But right now, the thirty-plus young female spirits surrounding this group of vampires were all, without exception, purple!
This was a scene he had never encountered before.
He knew that only those who had suffered extreme torture or fear in life would produce spirits with a purple-level obsession.
'Damn it. No way.'
'I absolutely cannot miss out on this... this feast.'
'So what if they're vampires?'
'I'm here to hunt vampires.'
The spirit's surveillance continued. The butler bowed in a very British manner and said, "Great Count Korthess, I have retrieved your Blood-Gem from Citibank."
"Oh?"
The lead vampire gently gestured, and the gem flew from the butler's hand into his.
"Gentlemen, it appears our fishing expedition has failed. Placing the Blood-Gem in Citibank did not attract a death sorcerer."
"Perhaps the existence of a death sorcerer in New York is merely a rumor. Otherwise, one would never have passed up a Blood-Gem that could enhance his power."
Hearing the Count, another vampire said with regret, "A pity. If there was a death sorcerer, according to our ancestor Dracula's notes, the mystic potions they brew could allow us to walk in the sunlight."
With that, the vampire took a sip from his glass of blood, an expression of ecstasy on his face.
"You may go."
The Count waved his hand at the butler. "Have someone find a way to capture more... untouched... young girls."
"Their blood is so much sweeter."
"As you wish, my master."
Bowing once more, the butler took a few steps back, then turned and left.
Lynn left the spirit in the underground fortress.
He sat up in his car.
'There's a death sorcerer in New York?'
'How come I never heard that rumor?'
'And a potion that lets vampires walk in the sun?'
'Wait... he couldn't be talking about me, could he?'
'I mean, I can brew mystic potions, and that ability comes from Mephisto's grimoire, which was stolen by a death sorcerer.'
'In other words... I'm basically half a death sorcerer.'
'Tsk... it couldn't be that much of a coincidence.'
Regardless, he was definitely killing this nest of vampires.
How could he not? Not when those thirty-plus purple-obsession spirits were so... tempting.

After checking in with George, Lynn drove back to the Hell's Kitchen black market.
"Damn it, why are you here again without calling?"
Seeing Lynn, Johnny looked completely exasperated. "Didn't I tell you? You have to call me before you come. What if you lead SHIELD or some other hyenas here? I'd have to move my whole operation again!"
Lynn ignored Johnny's rambling and walked straight into his warehouse.
"Alright, what do you want this time?"
Johnny followed him to the warehouse entrance, dismissed the guards, and asked.
"I need a full kit for hunting vampires."
"What?"
Hearing Lynn was going after vampires, Johnny's eyes lit up instantly. "Why didn't you say so? You need help? I'll get your gear."
"Don't worry, for this... I'll only charge you half price!"
The moment vampires were mentioned, Johnny's excitement was visible.
He even started grabbing the gear with lightning speed.
Everyone knew vampires and werewolves were mortal enemies.
And Johnny, even though he was a dark-skinned werewolf kicked out of his pack, still had that hatred for vampires in his genes.
A silver longsword, silver bullets, a glowing silver cross, and holy water.
Johnny even grabbed a bunch of garlic, wincing at the smell.
"These are the best tools for the job. And here, I'll throw in a capture net."
"When those disgusting bloodsuckers are losing, they turn into bats. That's when you use this."
Watching Johnny load up bag after bag, Lynn leaned in to inspect the gear. "Looks good. How much?"
"Just give me the cost price for this stuff."
After helping Lynn load the car, Johnny held up two fingers.
Lynn pulled two thousand dollars from his wallet and handed it to Johnny, gave a quick wave, and drove off.
Watching the Chevy disappear, Johnny looked at the two thousand dollars in his hand, confused.
"Uh, boss? I think you got ripped off. That custom high-intensity UV spotlight rig alone costs more than two grand."
His lackey, standing nearby, couldn't help but point out.
"Shit! I held up two fingers, meaning twenty thousand, not... ah, forget it!"
Johnny shook his head and shoved the cash in his pocket. "Whatever. It's for killing vampires."
Muttering and wincing at his loss, Johnny stomped back to the warehouse, vowing to completely fleece that asshole Lynn next time.

In the car.
Lynn sped back to his apartment.
He was marveling at how decent Johnny had been. Two thousand bucks for all this stuff.
Just the silver sword alone was worth more than two grand.
'Looks like the feud between werewolves and vampires is even deeper than I thought.'
He grabbed all the bags, went up to his apartment, and entered the code.
Lynn dropped the gear in the living room and went to his bedroom, pulling the case out from under his bed.
It was full of his potions: slowing agents, temporary strength enhancers, and more.
He thought for a moment, then grabbed several bottles of each.
He might be immortal, but he wasn't going to be careless when dealing with vampires.
He had just shoved the case back under the bed...
...when his doorbell rang.
He went to the door and opened it. Natasha was standing there, holding a bottle of red wine, smiling. "Steve and I liberated this from Stark. It's a very good year."
"You know, this bottle alone costs hundreds of thousands of dollars on the market. So... you sure you're not going to let me in?"
Steve was standing next to her, giving Lynn an awkward smile.
His expression clearly said, 'I tried to stop her, but she wouldn't listen.'
Seeing them at his door, Lynn thought for a moment, then stepped aside.
The moment they entered, Natasha quickly scanned the room. "Not bad. You live alone, but it's clean and tidy."
Then she saw the gear on the sofa. "Huh? What's all this? Are you... going vampire hunting?"
"If you are, I know a couple of hunters. Need an introduction?"
