Chapter 6 - [Objective Unlock: Slay the ones who threaten your life]

[Arrived at Twisted Village]

Fuck kind of name is that? Whatever, I should go-

It wasn't the once-open grassland environment that his system had taken him to, but now it was a village. A village packed with merchants, families, wooden, professionally carved, laid-out houses, and street vendors at each corner. A village that seemed to stretch on endlessly, each way carved out a new path.

"Huhhh!" Zylus paused as he looked back towards the cabin, but Medrus was nowhere to be seen.

"Medrus…" He stopped, looking toward what the system notified him as Twisted Village. "You BASTARD!"

Everyone beyond him, street vendors that were once arguing, families that were strolling on a walk, and people inside their wooden houses began turning on their lights just to see who was yelling.

But one look at him and they all simply went back to doing whatever it was they were doing without a care in the world. Except one…

"Ahh!" a woman running up to Zylus began to fall, "Save me!" She yelled with such a soft tone as she tripped on a rock.

Bam!

She fell right into Zylus's hands. Her beautifully round shaped chest bumped on Zylus's body as he began to blush.

"You're a hero," she declared, looking upwards at Zylus.

He didn't know what to say; all that went through his mind was a pit of emptiness.

The lady's face had strangely artistic traits; butter skin, a smooth face, and a clean expression.

She was less a person, more like a woman pulled straight from a painting. Her velvet hair went down to her chest, and her white eyes shone like a star—they almost seemed unreal. Too perfect. Intentional in design. Was it because she was a demon?

He studied her tight jumpsuit outfit that was clearly meant for exposure. To top it off, she was about five feet five. For him, that was quite ideal since he was just five feet seven. Not very tall, yes

"Are you new here?" She asked politely.

"Me-e-e?" Zylus wondered, but he already knew the answer. "Yea-h, I gue-s you can say th-aa-t."

She smiled, almost too beautiful to be real. With that being said, she had a horn on her head that held a dark black colour. One so real that it almost seemed painted. Short though.

She began giggling, "My name's Victoria by the way, what's yours?!" Such a beautiful and gentle scream, almost too fake.

"Zy-lus Elwis. That's me-e."

Lock in Zylus, stop stuttering in front of a beauty like her. That's a major ick.

"Here, I should show you around!" She paused as she began walking beyond the cabin into the carved paths of the village while grabbing Zylus's arm.

Sorry, Medrus, but she's too cute to let go of. But what's with her horn? That shit's really creepy. Guess this is what separates a human and a demon. But then, what characteristic do I have?

Ever since Zylus peeked outside, each person in the demon realm shared the same characteristics as any human. But they had one distinctive feature that separated them from any humans, which was simply a beastly trait. Whether it would be claws on their foot, a horn on their head, or a tail on their back, something, at least something, separated them. And this is what Zylus has come to realise.

[Warning: Nervous signals rising]

"Sometimes I wish I could get rid of this system." He bluffed, whispering out loud, just low enough for Victoria not to hear.

As each of them continued walking, the village's layout became clear to Zylus.

Wooden houses sat along a dirt road, their roofs slightly worn from the weather. Thin trails of smoke rose from a few chimneys, floating softly into the sky.

In the centre of the village, people moved about their day. A well stood nearby, and a couple of market stalls were set up beside it. Zylus could hear the faint voices of villagers trading food and talking with one another.

Fields and trees surrounded the village. A narrow stream ran along the edge, the gentle splash of a waterwheel turning in the distance.

Zylus stood there for a moment, taking it all in. It wasn't grand or impressive, but it felt peaceful, almost so warm for him to see.

"Behold!" Victoria stopped walking as she pointed at a street vendor, "This is the worst vendor in the world."

"HEY!" She giggled as she began running away, with Zylus's hand tightened.

"Louzy kids," the market seller whispered to himself as they ran off.

From stop to stop, she continued showing Zylus around. Slowly but surely, he began taking an extreme liking to her.

"And this right here…" She paused, "This is my home."

"Oh, I guess this is where I go back," Zylus said, sounding disheartened.

"No, you should come in! I'll cook dinner!" Victoria insisted, as she began dragging him into her crooked-looking cabin, small, dark, and on top of that, there was no one near her place. Only her and him, that's all.

Zylus didn't even have time to accept; she just dragged him in there. He had no choice but to accept, though. Nightfall just hit, and he wouldn't be able to navigate through the village by himself, so this seemed like the best case scenario for his current situation.

He has now picked up enough information to know that day and night work the same in the human realm. But then he pondered to himself, what was the place filled with ash that Medrus took him to? Since it didn't seem related to the Demon realm, what could it have been? But he lost that thought as Victoria plucked his arm into her huge chest.

Creak.

The rusted cabin's door was slammed over by Victoria. No knock, no turn a knob and unlock using a key, nothing. Just a push and a swift.

"Well, what are you waiting for?" She smiled, looking at Zylus as she entered the empty cabin. "I love your red hair and red eyes, by the way."

Zylus, without a second to answer, got dragged in. The light suddenly flickered on as he began lifting his head upwards to

Bodies.

Dead bodies lay in her empty cabin, all fleshed out and wounded, each one a demon. But it's her own kind, how dare she?

"Hahahah!" She grimly laughed, "It's so easy to seduce a weirdo like yourself. All you demons are the same. Disgusting perverts. That's why it was so easy to get into this realm."

Zylus grew angry, "What kind of beast attacks their own kind?!" He yelled, pushing himself away from Victoria.

He didn't care much about seeing the demons' opened flesh, but more about how it reminded him of his family's death.

"Oh, you're right." She smiled as her flesh began zipping off of her like an emptiness hollow, "I'm a spirit, you see. And I'm here to infiltrate the demon realm." She said calmly, as her true self began to show.

A spirit, clearly. With the same look that murdered Zylus's family. Same features that are too difficult to explain, and pure white, like a star. No mouth, no face, no nose, no eyes, just a transparent star.

[Accept Or Reject?]

[Failure To Complete: Death]

Zylus grew too mad to even think, watching the piled-up bodies bleed down towards the rusted wood hurt his gut.

Smash!

Suddenly, four other spirits appeared out of thin air. Each shared the same look as Victoria's spirited form. But that wasn't her actual name, was it?

One of which slammed Zylus into a rusted cabin wall.

All of them laughed at him, but they didn't know the rage that streamed within him.

[Combat: Imminent]

[Weapon: Demonic Katana]

"Hey," Zylus whispered, as he spat out blood, pushing himself off from the cabin wall as if it didn't affect him.

They continued giggling, ignoring his very presence.

"I will kill you, all of you."

He said it within one heartbeat, but they treated it like a joke. After all, spirits don't have access to view someone's system. No one but the ones born with demon blood can. That's why they didn't fear this:
