Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: System, Are You Seriously Messing With Me?

This guy…He must've come here just to give me free loot!

Not bad.Not bad at all.

With these two new cards, Izumi could pretty much walk sideways across this world without fearing anyone.Sure, each could only be used for five minutes…But five minutes was more than enough to drag the entire planet down with him if he really wanted.

The Overlord's Light Wheel—an item capable of wiping out a third of the world. If he activated it, he could literally take the whole world to the grave in one tantrum.

In other words, Izumi now had no reason to fear anyone at all.He could act as arrogant as he pleased.

…Well, in theory.

But after thinking for a moment, he decided against it.

Probably better to keep a low profile and level up quietly. It wasn't time to show off yet.

After all—this world hid depths far scarier than they appeared.

Izumi looked at the corpse of the fallen priest. After thinking for a moment, he shrugged and decided to sacrifice him too.

Leaving a body lying there felt creepy. What if a kid walked by and got traumatized?

So he crouched down again and tossed the corpse into the system.

Two more items popped out.

[You have received: Durex.][You have received: Emergency Contraceptive.]

Izumi: "Are you kidding me?"

Without even thinking, he stuffed the boxes into his pocket. There was still a cute little nun beside him—Asia—after all.

Asia blinked, confused. She was already baffled by the first sacrifice—the weapon Izumi had held briefly simply vanished, replaced by two golden cards. From how happy he looked, those cards were clearly valuable.

But then the corpse disappeared as well.Asia froze.

Izumi-kun is… this strong?

And what was that tiny box that appeared in his hand afterwards?

Asia was curious…But she didn't ask.She knew Izumi held many secrets—some things were meant to be asked, and some were not.

So she simply watched quietly.

After wrapping everything up, Izumi stood and clapped his hands.

"Come on, Asia. Let's go home and eat."

A stray priest showing up wasn't enough to surprise him.Killing him was like killing a random low-level mob on the roadside—And getting loot from it.

Izumi left with Asia, heading home with a satisfied smile, like some endgame player farming newbies.

The stray priest incident? It was nothing more than a little anecdote to sprinkle into daily conversation.Nothing worth worrying about.

Izumi's attention was already back on the two small boxes in his pocket.

His system…Was really not serious at all.

How could it give him these kinds of items?

Did a stray priest only deserve this kind of reward?

What a scam.

Well, better than nothing.

He was starting to understand the system's "offering rules."Projected items were worthless.Anything without value was rejected. And corpses—apparently—gave garbage-tier items.

Just like the "small umbrella" and "little pill" in his pocket.

If he wanted truly good rewards, he'd have to target Sacred Gears, divine artifacts…Or the corpses of powerful beings.

Apparently the system accepted those.

If he could someday kill an actual god…Who knew what kind of treasure he'd get?

Muttering to himself, Izumi shook off the thoughts and pocketed the items. They might be useful someday.

And the pill the system gave him—though it looked like a shady, unverified product—probably had insane effects.

Yep.Definitely worth keeping.

Maybe someday he could give them to Asia or even Rias.

After returning home, Izumi and Asia began preparing dinner.

Inside an abandoned warehouse, several Fallen Angels and robed cultists knelt before a twelve-winged Fallen Angel.

This Fallen Angel was Kokabiel, the very "cannon fodder" Sirzech once described.

Kokabiel was an ancient Fallen Angel, alive since antiquity. After a battle with an otherworldly visitor, he gained a massive boost—Ascending from a ten-winged Fallen to a twelve-winged one.

This was why his strength was rated S+.

S+ strength was enough to rival even Serafall, one of the Four Devil Kings.

But to a Transcendent, anyone below SS-ranked was still… cannon fodder.

In Sirzech 's eyes, even Serafall was technically "battle fodder," which was why she was stationed mainly as a diplomat in the Underworld.

Sirzech was the one actually fighting all the large-scale battles.

The other Devil King?Too lazy.Barely did anything.

And the last Transcendent was far more interested in researching bizarre nonsense than fighting.

So in the end—Sirzech was the one constantly at the front line, watching Devil Kings fall one after another.

Calling them cannon fodder wasn't wrong.

Kokabiel might be S+, but Sirzech didn't even bother considering him a threat.Especially with his little sister living in Kuoh Town—There were plenty of hidden guardians watching the place.

Not to mention, Kuoh Town itself was extremely important to the Underworld.Naturally, it was heavily defended.

But Kokabiel had become arrogant.

Staring at his subordinates, he wore a wild grin.

"Are all preparations complete?"

A priest-like old man stepped forward, his voice fanatic.

"Yes, Kokabiel-sama!We've already set up the barrier around Kuoh Academy. As soon as you command it, we can activate it instantly!"

"No one below SS rank can break through this barrier!"

Kokabiel nodded with satisfaction.

"Excellent.Then dismiss yourselves."

"Tomorrow, we strike Kuoh Academy."

"Sirzech's little sister…And Serafall's little sister…"

"If I capture them both—What will that pompous Sirzech do!?"

Kokabiel burst into mad laughter.

He couldn't wait to see Sirzech's expression once his sister was taken.

And once he captured the sisters of two Devil Kings…He could threaten the Underworld itself.Maybe even force Sirzech to restrain Azazel.

Then he would have all the time he needed to grow his own forces.

Why not attack now?

He wasn't stupid.

He knew how much the Underworld valued Kuoh Town.If he attacked at night, he'd be detected instantly.

But attacking during the day?

That was when the Academy was filled with students. Many were children of high-ranking officials.

Capturing them would also benefit him greatly.
