Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Damn System, You Screwed Me Over

With a flick of his wrist, Izumi finished off Kokabiel.

And immediately stuffed the corpse into his system space.

Not even leaving the guy a body.

Only after tidying up did Izumi turn his attention toward Vali.

By then, Vali had also recovered from being swatted like a bug.His eyes locked onto Izumi—not with anger, but with razor-sharp battle lust.Kokabiel's death didn't bother him in the slightest.

"You're strong.""Who are you?""I don't recall any human on record matching your level."

Vali knew almost every powerhouse in the world.A human of this caliber shouldn't exist.

Izumi's expression didn't shift.

"That has nothing to do with you.""Unless you want to stick your head into this mess too?"

If Vali dared to say yes, Izumi had no problem adding him to today's sacrifice list.

Vali removed his helmet, wiping away the blood from his chin.

"I like fighting the strong…""But that doesn't mean I'm stupid.""Right now, I'm no match for you."

Vali was many things, but he wasn't suicidal. He'd originally planned to snatch Kokabiel and hand him to Azazel. He never expected Izumi to block him instantly—or that Izumi would smash him away like a household insect.

He honestly felt wronged.

Blocking him was one thing, but why the hell did the guy smack him like a fly?

Did he not deserve basic dignity?

He wanted to curse out loud, but recalling Izumi's "attack first, talk never" temperament…

Yeah.Better swallow it.

Cannot afford to provoke.

Izumi ignored him after that, heading toward the pile of fallen Fallen Angels.

His materials were still lying there.

"If you don't want to get dragged into this, then leave.""Otherwise, you might not walk away later."

He meant it.

Actually, Izumi did want to kill Vali and steal Divine Dividing. But with so many people watching, ripping a Sacred Gear out of someone's soul would definitely cause an uproar.

He could also do what he did to Ichise earlier—kill Vali and sacrifice both man and gear.

But Divine Dividing would probably flee Vali's body the moment he died.

So for now…he'd spare him.

Besides, he didn't have a bad impression of this battle maniac. And Vali's older sister—yeah, she was definitely a plus.

Future brother-in-law material? Who knows.

After forming various not-so-pure thoughts, Izumi let Vali live.

He crouched down among the defeated Fallen Angels and quickly found several fake holy swords forged from Excalibur fragments.

Without hesitation—straight into the system.

Vali watched silently, then conjured a magic circle and disappeared.

The moment he vanished, the barrier overhead shattered.

Then—a wave of devils and campus security stormed in.

Just as Izumi picked up the final pseudo-Excalibur, the two Church idiots finally reacted.

They rushed over shouting:

"H-Hey! That's property of the Chu—"

Too late.

Izumi tossed it into the system without even looking at them.

Then glared.

"Shut it. It's my spoils."

Without waiting for their reply, he strode toward the school building.

But—

Suddenly, an ominous chill ran down his spine.

The transcender's experience card only lasted five minutes.

…Please no.

Please don't tell me this thing has side effects—

Just as he reached the entrance—

The timer ran out.

Izumi's knees gave out.

He almost collapsed on the spot.

Fortunately—he managed to sit rather than face-plant.

But in front of him…

were Megumi Kato and Asia.

Both frozen.

If he had actually fallen to his knees, he'd never live it down.

Now sitting breathless on the floor, Izumi felt pain shoot through every bone in his body.

"Hhh— damn, seriously?!""This hurts like hell!"

A deep, marrow-piercing ache spread through him.

If not for the lack of strength, he would've been rolling on the ground.

Megumi and Asia rushed forward immediately.

"Izumi-kun! Are you okay?!"

"Izumi-sama, please don't scare us like this!"

They frantically checked him—but found no wounds.

Izumi forced down the pain and groaned:

"Why are you two here?""Didn't I tell you to evacuate?"

Don't tell me they were… watching?

Well—yes.

When Izumi had told them to flee, Megumi… didn't.Instead, she dragged Asia into a corner of the school building where her aura-concealment worked its magic.

They stood there the entire time, silently watching the whole fight.

Not a single Fallen Angel or student noticed them.

They saw everything—Izumi dominating Kokabiel from start to finish.

While Asia treated him with her Sacred Gear, she explained what happened.

Izumi listened and sighed.

"Megumi, you're way too bold…""You were just… casually spectating? Really?"

He had no words.

Megumi ignored the complaint and stared sharply at him.

"Izumi-kun… what did you use just now?""Some kind of secret art? Forced power-up?""That's why you're like this now, isn't it?"

Currently, Izumi looked like a rag doll.

Even the weakest chick could probably defeat him.

Teachers had warned them that such secret techniques came with harsh backlash.

Izumi didn't hesitate—he nodded.

Honestly… it was a perfect excuse.

And it let him protect the secret of his system.

Megumi's brows furrowed even tighter.

"Are you sure you're okay?""Those techniques can cripple a person."

Right as she finished, Rias, Sona, and the others arrived—only to find Izumi pale as a sheet, sitting on the floor while two girls supported him.
