Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: A Night in Jean's Bed.

"Master Jean, those travelers saved the city..." but Amber couldn't finish, so Jean stopped her.

"Amber, that was an hour ago." Jean said, and I could clearly hear the fatigue in her voice. Also, if I looked closely, I could see bags under her eyes, most likely from lack of sleep.

Jean must have sensed my gaze and glanced at me, then looked away, but I could clearly see the redness on her cheeks.

"Anyway, Amber, would you mind introducing us?" Jean said.

"Of course! That pink-haired beauty surrounded by red flowers is called Evernight." the girl scout said, causing me to blush.

"The blonde one is called Lumine, and the little girl who flies is called Paimon." Amber finished.

Jean nodded to us, and I noticed her gaze linger on me again.

"Thank you for your assistance. My name is Jean, and I'm the current Master of the Knights of Favonius." the blonde beauty replied.

"In any case, let's move to a more private setting." she said, glancing around at the people staring at us.

We nodded to her and headed toward headquarters, but without Amber, who had gone off on patrol.

Entering the Master's office, I immediately noticed two more people waiting for us: a girl who looked like a witch and a boy with blue hair.

As soon as the girl saw me, her eyes lit up strangely, making me feel uneasy, like I was prey being watched by a predator... A rather strange analogy...

"Aren't our saviors cute... especially the pink-haired one," Lisa said seductively.

"Lisa... Let's not do it now." Jean said and sighed.

"Anyway, this Lisa woman is our librarian." Jean said, to which Lisa winked.

Oddly enough, they didn't introduce us to the guy, even though I already knew who he was...

Anyway, we started talking about everything that had happened, and it was decided that we'd go to some temple tomorrow. Actually, I wasn't really listening, just looking at the cute girls' faces and the way Lisa was making eyes at me...

Quite soon, Lisa and the guy he hadn't introduced to us left, leaving us with the master.

"Lumine, Paimon, here's the money. Buy some food and get a hotel room," I said, handing Lumine the bag of mora.

"And you?" Paimon asked.

"I'll catch up with you later, I need to talk to Jean about something." I said.

They both nodded at me and left.

"So what did you want to talk about?" Jean asked tiredly.

"What are you planning on doing now?" I asked, to which she looked at me blankly.

"Well... I need to finish some paperwork." she said.

"When are you going to bed?" I asked.

"It's okay..." she said, yawning.

I just shook my head, looking at the sofa, where I walked over and sat down.

"Come here." I said, patting the seat next to me.

"Why what?" she asked, but she still walked over and sat down next to me. I just gently picked her up and rested her head on my lap, which surprised Jean, causing her to blush. But strangely, she didn't get up from my lap.

"Why?" she asked simply, looking up at me.

"Because you're obviously tired." I replied.

"But..."

"Don't worry, the work won't go anywhere." I replied, and for some reason, I began stroking her hair. This was probably the closest I'd ever been to a girl. I also gave her a pillow made from my lap, something I'd never tried myself, but she didn't mind, and even began blushing even more...

Meanwhile, flowers appeared above her, formed a circle, and began swirling, and apparently this was the last step before she finally fell asleep.

Honestly, I don't know why I acted that way. Maybe it was because I was in love with her in my past life, or maybe because I couldn't stand watching her suffer from lack of sleep, but I wanted to make her life easier, even just a little.

But even after she fell asleep, I continued to stroke her hair, and it was very soft.

It soon got dark, and Jean was still asleep, while I simply admired her peaceful expression.

Finally, there was a knock at the door, and it opened immediately.

"Master Jean, I brought you..." the girl who entered couldn't finish, noticing me and blushing slightly. Then she saw Jean sleeping on my lap, which surprised her.

"Excuse me," she said quietly and started to leave.

"Stop." I said, trying not to wake Jean.

The girl stopped and looked at me. "Do you have a bed here where I can put her?" I asked, to which she nodded.

I knew this girl, too, and she could be described as a battle maid.

I carefully picked up Jean and followed the maid. Meanwhile, I didn't bother putting away the Memosprites, who simply followed me like a queen's retinue.

Soon enough, the battle maid led us into a large room containing a decent-sized bed.

After showing me the room, she left, and I walked over to the bed, laid it down, and was about to leave when Jean suddenly pulled me toward her, pressing my head against her chest.

I felt my face flush too much. I tried to pull away, but noticed her grip was quite strong. I could have pulled myself free, of course, but that would have woken her.

Resigned to my fate, and enjoying the softness of her chest... ahem... I mean the softness of the bed, I decided to get some sleep too.

I hope Paimon and Lumine are okay and won't worry about me.

Sigh...

And yet...

How can I sleep?

This is my first time making bed with a girl, so my heart is beating fast, and I'm starting to blush again, imagining what could happen between two girls in the same bed...

"Ara-ara, what's that little one I caught here?" I heard Lisa's quiet voice.

"Lisa?" I asked again.

"Yes, I'm the cutie. Your friends are asking about you, but I see I can't meet them. Don't worry, I'll explain everything to them." she said.

"Oh well..." but I couldn't finish before I stopped.

If she says I'm in Jean's bed, won't they take it the wrong way? As if something's going on between her and me...

"Lisa." I said, but didn't hear an answer.

Well, I can already sense the questions I'll be asked tomorrow...

Damn...
