Cherreads

Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Dream.

"Where am I?" I asked automatically, finding myself in an unfamiliar place.

"It was I who summoned you, anomaly." I heard an arrogant voice.

Turning around, I saw a beautiful girl I recognized immediately. Pure white hair, like fallen snow, and piercing amber eyes. She was quite tall, at least taller than me.

"Asmodeus?" I asked automatically.

I saw her eyebrow rise in surprise.

"Do you know me, Anomaly?" she asked, looking me in the face, and I bet she blushed.

"Maybe you should stop calling me 'Anomaly'. My name is Evernight." I said, a little irritated.

"Well then, answer Evernight, how do you know my name?" she asked.

"Well... It's hard to explain..." I said.

"We have plenty of time." she replied indifferently.

I could only sigh.

"You call me an anomaly, why?" I asked.

"Because you shouldn't be here. So, you most likely came to this world from another." she said, to which I nodded and spoke.

"Yes, you're right. I've only been in this world for a day, and yes, in the past world, I most likely died." I replied.

"But how do you know me?" she asked.

And what should I say? That in her past life, she was a character in a video game? Wouldn't I change her worldview? Although, it's unlikely, since she's practically some kind of goddess. What if I lie to her? I don't really want to lie to girls; maybe it's my weakness in this life, but I will never fight girls, even if they want to harm me. I'll simply try to stop them without killing them. I feel like I can definitely defeat her, but I feel uneasy about hurting her, especially since she's acting neutral for now.

Sigh...

"The next thing I'm going to say, I don't want you to take it seriously. The thing is, in my past life, there was a story about this world, and you were part of it too. But don't think you're some fictional character, you're real, it's just..."

"Don't, I already know that things like that happen..." she said thoughtfully, then looked at me.

"Then what will happen to me in the future, and what about Mistress?" she asked.

I just shook my head.

"Sorry, I don't know the end of that story, I just know you were there at the beginning." I said.

"Hm... Twins, huh?" she asked.

I simply nodded at her.

"So my mistress was right about them being special..." she said, thinking.

"You took it so calmly?" I decided to ask.

"When you live long enough, you'll see things differently." she said.

"I see... But what now? I mean, what do you want from me since you invited me here?" I asked.

"I simply checked the 'anomaly,' nothing more. Besides, my mistress is 'asleep,' so I can't act without her orders. And I'm not sure I can defeat you... You're very strong, and I'm sure some external deity has caught your eye, granting you a power no ordinary person should have." she said.

Well, I assumed so...

"Tell me, Asmodeus, was what happened five hundred years ago really necessary?" I asked, but she shrugged indifferently.

"If I say yes, will you believe me?" she asked.

Honestly, I don't know. But it's not as simple as it seems. I don't believe Heavenly Principles is outright evil.

"Yes, I believe you." I replied.

"You're strange... naive..." she said, narrowing her eyes. "Well, thank you, I guess..." I said.

"It wasn't a compliment." she said indifferently.

"Well, for me it was a compliment." I said.

"Anyway, I'll send you back." she said, to which I stopped her.

"Wait! I still have a question? Will I be able to get back here?"

"Why do you need that?" she asked.

"Well, I want to spend time with such a beauty." I decided to try flirting with her, to test the waters, so to speak.

She looked at me and turned.

"Naive..."

"But... We'll meet again in the future."

When she said that, I found myself in Jean's arms again. I bet I saw Asmodeus's ears were red... Did I really make her blush?

Looking up, I noticed that Jean had woken up and was looking at me, blushing, but she wouldn't let me go.

Life is wonderful when it's full of so many beautiful girls!

In the end, Jean had to let me go, even though I could tell she didn't want to, which made me smile. Come to think of it, my charm is like a succubus's, in that I can even make "goddesses" blush... Anyway, I don't mind...

But on the other hand, if I chose one girl, I'd break their hearts if I were to fall in love with anyone else. Is my charm really forcing me to create a harem?

I never even considered it in my past life, where I didn't even have one girlfriend. Of course, I read harem novels, and I thought the male protagonists, who simply attracted a crowd of women, were stupid. Because many do not care about their feelings, and they are simply added like a Pokemon and used for their own satisfaction.

If fate forces me to create a harem, I should at least establish good relationships with all the girls and be a bridge between the interpersonal relationships between the girls in the harem.

How troublesome...
