Chapter 15 - RoSK - Chapter 15: Two Senior Disciples

- Few Moments Earlier -

"There up the hill, I can see them, brother Ryuk. It looks like master Tomoya's wind barrier."

Ryuk used his aura eyes technique to look in that direction.

"Yes, that's definitely them. I can see master Ken inside, he is using his martial art. They're under attack, we have to hurry, Kavi."

Both of them rushed uphill. As they approached near the barrier, they heard something.

"Aura Materialization - Hand of God"

Ryuk saw giant metal hands appear from thin air, crushing master Tomoya and Ken. As the barrier disappeared, they saw both masters fallen to the ground, covered in blood.

"Master Ken, Master Tomoya!!!" yelled Kavi. He rushed towards them to help. Both of them looked to be in serious condition.

"Agh! Agh! Senior disciples. Agh! What are you doing here? You need to get out of here. Agh!" said Ken.

"Master Ken! Don't try to speak, you're seriously injured."

"I'm okay! I used my martial arts at the last moment to avoid injuring my vitals. Agh! You two, take master Tomoya to the temple. He needs immediate help! I'll hold him back with my strength. Agh!"

"No, master Ken. You're bleeding too much, you too need immediate help. Just hold on."

As Kavi was trying to help both his masters, he heard someone from behind him.

"Ho! What a beautiful sight. You should feel lucky that you got to show such compassion towards your master, young man."

Kavi looked back and saw someone who was smiling as he uttered those words. At that moment, he realised that the man in front of him was no ordinary person.

"If it weren't for me, you would spend your entire life without experiencing such a precious moment."

The more Kavi looked at him, the more aware he became of the terrifying presence covered with dark aura. Kavi's heart started to beat faster with fear as he realised he can't defeat the monster standing in front of him.

"Snap out of it, Kavi!" yelled Ryuk as he saw his fellow disciple frozen by the fear.

Kavi looked at Ryuk as he was standing firm, ready to fight the enemy.

"Take master Ken and master Tomoya out of here! I'll hold him back." Ryuk took a fighting stance as he knew that's the only option for him.

"Is that so?"

"Hurry up Ka…"

"Thud!

Before Ryuk could finish the sentence a heavy blow hit his gut throwing him backwards in the distance.

Get out of my way."

"It's a real gift that you can worry about someone else while facing someone like me, young man." said number eight in a calm voice as he slowly sat down.

"I used to be like you a long time ago. Back then I had love in my heart, I cared about others, I showed empathy to people I loved.

It's all good and lovely when you have someone to protect. But if you're not strong enough to protect those you love, you don't deserve that blessing.

All that will be left is a void of sorrow that wants to consume all that it comes in contact with.

Look at me, do you see a person? Or a monster?"

Kavi stood there looking him in the eyes as the fear grew stronger. His body was shaking, mind was frozen. He couldn't say a single word.

"Both are incorrect. All you should see is a choice. A choice between cowering before the enemy or standing up to protect."

He slowly stood up and raised his voice.

"You should feel thankful. I'm feeling some of that sympathy right now. Your choice is in front of you."

With a terrifying smile on his face, he looked at Kavi and said, "Tell me young man, would you run back to the temple in hopes of survival or try to fight the opponent who has crippled your masters."

Even though Kavi was standing still, there was a turmoil boiling inside him. From fear, there came rage, from rage came determination, from determination came movement, and from movement came a voice. A voice that said, "Bring it on, demon!"

"That's the answer I was looking for. I'm feeling generous, I'll limit my attacks to just Aura Enhancement.

You've made me happy with that choice! Now show me what you can do."

There was a fire in Kavi's eyes. He didn't hold back. As he took a fighting stance, aura started to flow inside his body. He closed his fists and the muscles in his arms grew stronger. His whole body was flowing with a seamless stream of aura enhancing every muscle and bone.

As he grit his teeth, words came out of his mouth, "Seven Trinity - Mt. Kamadu!"

Kavi rushed with the first punch. "Thud!!"

It connected, a direct hit to the jaw.

"That's a strong punch." said number eight as he spat out blood and broken teeth.

"Show me more!!" he said with a smile as he disappeared into thin air.

He appeared right in front of Kavi, "Thud!" hitting him with a kick to the head.

Blood came out of Kavi's ear. He wiped the blood and stood up with a changed stance. With both arms straight straight, left fist above the right, he rushed in.

First punch to the gut, second to the face, then a kick to the shoulder. He put his right foot down and attacked with a rotating right foot. Eight didn't block a single hit.

"Something is still missing, young man. Don't tell me this is all you can do?"

- Moments Earlier -

After getting hit by a direct punch, Ryuk was thrown backwards hitting the rocks which knocked him out. He regained consciousness moments later as he heard the words Mt. Kamadu.

He slowly stood up. His body was in pain as he sustained multiple internal and external injuries.

As he regained his footing and saw Kavi in the distance. He was attacking non stop and the enemy wasn't blocking any hits. He saw an opening and rushed towards him.

Just as eight was finding his sentence a flying kick hit him.

"Thud!"

"Phantasm - Sleek" said Ryuk as his foot made contact with eight's head.

Eight straightened his neck and said, "Sigh! This annoying guy is ba…"

"Thud!"

Before eight could finish the sentence another hit bent his neck.

"What the fuck was that!" uttered eight in confusion.

You're more annoying than I thought, skinny guy. Your tricks aren't worth my time." said eight with an angry face.

"Aura Materialization - Hand of God"

A giant iron fist hit Ryuk, sending him flying back.

Ryuk blocked the attack with his arms. His arms were injured but he avoided a blow to his body.

The moment eight used his aura technique he was hit in the gut by Kavi.

"Trinity Heavy Style" said Kavi as he hit the lower leg of eight breaking the bone.

Eight instantaneously closed his hand forming fist to punch Kavi with full force.

"Thud!!"

Ryuk hit eight in the face with the knee breaking his nose.

At the same time, Kavi moved his right leg forward, gripped his left arm and moved 180 degrees, breaking his arm.

Eight formed a fist and hit his own chest, exerting a forceful blast of energy that pushed both of them back.

Both of them moved back to put some distance between them.

"Ho! A broken leg, a broken nose and broken arm. I'm impressed."

He shaked his leg, aligned his nose and put the left arm back in place. His bones repaired and muscles regenerated.

"Let's dial it up a notch, shall we."

Both Ryuk and Kavi were looking at each other.

"Kavi, you know what needs to be done. You have to take master Ken and Tomoya out of here."

"I know that but brother Ryuk I can't leave you here alone. At this rate you won't…"

"I know, Kavi. I know…

You shouldn't worry about me. We have to focus on what is important."

Brother Ryuk, I can tell it from his face. He's afraid just like me, but he has already made a choice. I should be the one to fight that monster but I feel powerless the more I fight.

I have to make the choice.

"Brother Ryuk. I'll be back for sure!"

"I'm counting on you, Kavi."

Ryuk rushed towards eight with all his power. Kavi dashed to the location of masters.

This is the first time I'm using both aura centres at the same time. I trained to maintain harmony within two but the conditions have changed. I'm in a fight now, I can't afford to be careful. I have to draw out the full power of my aura centres.

My Phantasm technique isn't strong enough to fight him and even if I combine Trinity technique I won't last long. I have to buy enough time so Kavi can reach the temple safely.

He's already using Aura Materialization and something tells me he can also use the final phase. I have to stop him before he does that.

My aura training has made me fast. I can utilize my speed to do more damage. I've been using only Aura Enhancements. It's time to push to phase two.

"Aura Centres - Open!"

Ryuk's two aura centres started flowing aura inside his body.

He dashed straight with his elbow pointed towards the heart of eight. He made contact but something wasn't right.

Eight was standing firm and his entire body was covered with an invisible field as strong as iron.

"Did you think I was going to let you attack forever!"

Ryuk's elbow took some damage. His bone started to hurt but he didn't stop. He moved to the right before rushing in with another attack.

That hurt. He is using defensive technique now. It would be hard to penetrate his shield. In that case…

"Phanatsm - Reverse Prism"

Ryuk used his palm with full force. It touched the shield.

Ryuk focused his aura in his palm. The aura from within his body started coming out covering his palm.

His palm was still yet it exerted immense aura, aimed directly at the point of contact. Sparks started flowing as his aura clashed with the shield.

Ryuk used his left hand to hold his right wrist.

"Reverse Prism - Acceleration!!!" yelled Ryuk as he channeled his aura from both centres to that one point, breaking the shield.

Eight moved back as he repaired the shield. Ryuk rushed in. This time with a rotating kick to the head. It connected again. Aura from his feet broke the shield again at the point of contact.

- Moments Earlier -

Master Ken, master Tomoya just hold on tight, I'm coming.

Kavi reached the location of the previous fight but something wasn't right. There was no sign of masters anywhere. Their bodies vanished.

Immediately his mind assumed the worst.

Another enemy? That can't be. What happened to the masters?

Kavi looked to his left, there was nothing. He looked to the right, there was someone in the distance.

"Master Ken, master Tomoya!!" he called out for them.

Someone from the shadows appeared. There were three of them.

The one in the middle said, "No one has ever called me master but I'll take it, young boy!"
