From a distance, Jefferson watched the two women arguing. Watching the little girl grow into a grown woman filled him with pride. He remembered how whenever Carabella was bullied by Larissa, she would immediately cry or hide in the family's backyard. However, the situation now was different from five years ago. Carabella was starting to gain the courage to not lower her head when talking to Larissa.
He had initially intended to take revenge on Carabella, but instead, seeing her relaxed and elegant demeanor made him smile. He didn't want to interfere in women's affairs, because if he did, Carabella would feel uncomfortable.
"I like seeing you no longer bow your head. Keep your cool, Ella."
Back to the two women still arguing. Larissa hadn't expected Carabella to dare to confront her for the first time. She'd wanted to make her cry in front of her, but instead, she was shocked, feeling defeated.
Of course, Larissa remained calm when faced with a woman so inferior to her. She forced herself to laugh gracefully to cover up her pent-up annoyance.
"It's good that you want to learn more. I thought you just wanted to follow your father."
"Actually, since I was little, I wanted to be free from my father. I wanted to do whatever I wanted. But my father always forbade me from doing what I wanted."
"That's how it seems."
"So, don't stop me from being Jefferson's personal assistant. I want to learn a lot from him about business and what a real work environment is like."
"I admit you're actually smart. But it's a shame you didn't go to college."
"Not going to college doesn't mean I'm stupid. It's just that my family's financial situation doesn't allow me to pay for my tuition. Even my savings aren't enough."
Larissa nodded, gripping her enemy's right hand tightly. "You don't have to worry anymore from now on. Jefferson will definitely guide you well."
"If you need help, of course I will help you."
Ahem!
Hearing a familiar cough, the two women immediately looked at the handsome man standing near the shoe store. Larissa immediately ran to her fiancé, followed by Carabella, who also walked quickly.
Larissa put her arm around her fiancé's and rested her head on his broad shoulder. "Jefferson, I've been waiting for you."
His eyes sparkled as he stared at his fiancée. "What shops have you and Carabella been to? You should have waited for me."
"Actually, we were just browsing around the accessories stores. But there wasn't a single accessory I wanted."
"So what do you want? I'll buy it all for you now."
Larissa deliberately blinked several times. "I want you to buy me some shoes. The ones I'm wearing now are starting to look worn out."
His brow furrowed as he stared at the white heels his fiancée was wearing. "Didn't I just buy these heels a month ago?"
"Yes, but because I wear them every day, these shoes get dirty."
Jefferson was forced to comply with his spoiled fiancée's wishes. For a moment, his gaze sharpened on his new assistant, who was standing behind his fiancée. Although he had been feeling proud of her just a few minutes ago, now he wanted revenge for making her look like a coward.
"Okay, I will accompany you to buy new shoes now."
Jefferson led the two women into an exclusive shoe store in a shopping mall. Staring at all the shoes on display, they were more expensive than the ones Jefferson had just bought, and her mouth dropped open, hiccuping.
"Ella, what's wrong with you?" Jefferson asked, furrowing his eyebrows.
"I'm fine."
A mischievous smile spread across his handsome face. "You should focus on your work. I didn't hire you as my assistant to play around."
"I know."
Jefferson took a moment to pick up a pair of white heels adorned with a white rose in the center. He led his fiancée to a bench and then knelt before her, removing the worn white heels that were still attached to her beautiful feet.
He deliberately wore the white heels for his fiancée, posing like a prince, to make his assistant jealous. He laughed inwardly, satisfied that he had finally gotten his revenge on her.
"You look so beautiful in these heels," Jefferson praised, amazed at his fiancée's beauty.
Larissa smiled shyly, kissing her fiancé's head deeply. "Thank you for helping me pick out these beautiful heels."
"Since I bought these heels for you, you have to take good care of them. Don't wear them every day until they wear out."
"Don't worry, actually there are still a lot of heels that I haven't worn because I feel like it would be a shame to wear them often."
Jefferson turned his head for a moment to stare at his assistant, who was staring at a variety of cream-colored heels. He imagined her wearing them, surely she would be as beautiful as his fiancée. However, he couldn't be overtly sweet right now, as Larissa would scold him for being sweet to another woman, especially his own assistant.
"Ella, as a woman, I want to ask your opinion. Does Larissa look beautiful in these heels?"
Carabella nodded. "Of course, because he's your fiancé."
"I don't want you to answer because she's my fiancé. But I want you to answer honestly using your opinion."
A heavy sigh escaped his lips. "Yes, I did answer honestly earlier. She looks even more perfect in the heels you chose."
"Since you are so determined to tell the truth, should I give you a gift too?"
"What?"
Meanwhile, Larissa listened to him so intently that her body began to feel hot. "Why did you suddenly want to buy her a gift too? Weren't we just here to buy a gift for me?"
"Can't you see the label on the acrylic board?" Jefferson pointed to the acrylic board that said "Buy 1 Get 1".
"No need, Jefferson. You can buy other shoes for your fiancée," Carabella quickly refused.
"Okay, if that's what you want." Jefferson felt incredibly disappointed once again, having been dumped a second time. Should he punish Carabella when he got home?
