Hia supposedly never saw anyone leave the room. Though, the room got dark all of a sudden, then returned to normal. That's when she saw the foul creature near the door.
Alto didn't know what to do, it seemed like there was a murderer on the loose. Plus, people were bound to blame him, plus a random man came to him asking him to go around killing people.
It was a rather strange predicament. Alto went about his usual routine, for now. The people of the town seemed more wary whenever he was near. Catching a lot of glances Alto sighed while holding two loaves of bread.
'What to do, what to do.'
By now he was strong enough to slay a baby worm by himself. Plus his speed has improved quite a bit.
'I completely forgot! I got a new stat.'
He whispered something under his breath and a blue panel suddenly appeared showing his stats.
{Level 7: 22/400}
{Stats}
{Strength: 15}
{Speed: 16}
{Intelligence: 18}
{Durability: 7}
{Stamina: 10}
{Charisma: 0}
{Abilities: Thrust}
{Attributes: None}
'What? Where's the new stat?'
Alto, had a sneaking suspension that it had to do with mana. He ended up clicking on his intelligence stat.
{Intelligence average: 17.666}
{Deduction: 20}
{Iq: 30}
{Mana Output: 3}
Once again, the stat seemed to be missing some things. There was more to intelligence than just deduction and IQ. Though the new mini stat actually caused the average intelligence to go down. It didn't truly damage his intellect at all. He was still just as smart.
'Mana Output huh?'
It was somewhat rare to have mana among the people here. Just having that ability was a boon. Even if it was somewhat weak.
Alto quickly continued walking to his room. He wanted to test out magic as soon as possible.
He made some discoveries that could manifest a little fire into the waking world. He first achieved this by saying the incantation allowed. It was a strange feeling, then he simply did it once more, this time without the incantation. He imagined forming fire from his hands, then manifested it into existence.
'Silent magic, should have seen that coming.'
The fire itself wasn't that hot, over time it could burn through something, it would be mostly useful to shoot fire into the eyes of abominations. Unluckily the worms he hunted did not have eyes.
It was good news, over time it would get stronger. As of his other stats.
The bad news was somebody else was killed today.
After the second murder, it became obvious that the dark figure was responsible for it. Alto didn't want anymore people to die. The issue was that he had no idea who that guy was. His voice wasn't recognizable nor was the way he spoke.
He seemed fine with killing anyone. Which made predicting his next move quite difficult.
"Did you hear? The ancient book was stolen a few days back."
"I thought the elder and his guard protected it?"
'Wait! That was real?'
It seemed as though the passage he read was, in fact, real. That meant that the elder lied about never hearing of Earth. He was curious as to why they let him into the village if that was the case.
People's looks of him also grew more wary. Before they seemed scared. Now, they seemed angry.
Alto didn't really care too much about how people viewed him.
However, the situation was growing more dire. It was only a matter of time before somebody took action.
Alto tried to gather information. Anything about people who could control darkness. He even tried to tell one of the elder's guards about the situation. The tall man with the short sword. The man simply spit on him and walked away.
Alto was left with a stunned expression.
No one seemed to know anything about someone controlling darkness. Glaive ended up asking the party if they wanted to hunt again. Alto, desperately needed xp for whatever was going to happen in the next few days. So he agreed.
