"State your business here quickly and leave, I have important things to do." Judith turned to continue preparing for dinner.
"Is your brain really not working enough for you to forget that it took you a year and six months to get back your role as madam of the house." Olivia chuckled.
"How does that concern you? I'm doing this for my son and if you're not happy about it, you are free to leave."
"Fine! Suit yourself then."
Olivia scoffed before leaving to old man Brook's study. She didn't knock before entering in a rush.
"Father, are you really going to give that woman a free hand to ruin everything you've been planning for the past two years."
"I'm sure she has cooked up some plan with that Lynn Carter of a girl to trap Lucas. The last time it was insemination and now who knows what they want to do."
"She has a mission in this house for her to invite that girl over without your permission. Father, we need to stop them before everything goes down the drain."
Old man brook kept quite the whole time and didn't say a word, even Butler Finch didn't chime in with any ideas.
Frustrated Olivia watched her father for a while before deciding to leave in anger. She thought her father would at least get in action at once.
Immediately she left, old man Brook assigned butler finch to do something as he left to carry out his master's order.
Towards dinner time, Lucas had just arrived from work and was making his way into the house when he heard an unusual voice call his name.
"Lucas! You're back. I've been waiting for you since I came. How do you like my surprise?" Lynn ran towards him and said all of these in her tiny loud voice as she stared at Lucas for response.
Lucas didn't give any reaction and stared at her with his cold eyes before brushing past her like she's invisible.
"Lucas?" She called again with a frown.
Swiftly, April also walked in coming back from aunt Sophie's salon.
After old man Brook settled April's divorce with Jake, he also helped Aunt Sophie establish a big salon for her hair stylist business. So most times April often visits after class and comes back at night before dinner.
Lynn Carter watched April go up the stairs in a frown while squeezing her fist; I'll make sure to deal with you later! She thought in her mind and turned towards the room prepared for her.
Soon, it was already time for dinner and everyone was present including Brandon Brook who had just arrived from a business trip.
Only Lucas and April were absent from the table but old man Brook didn't mind about it since he knew the reason.
"Father! Brandon! This is Lynn Carter. She's the daughter of my very close friend, I'm sure you remember her. She used to be Lucas's play partner before we finally moved back to the Brook mansion." Judith smiled.
"I invited her to spend just a few days with us, I hope you won't mind father?" She smirked within her before smiling.
"Why would he mind? Since you invited her already without permission there's no need to hide your evil intentions." Olivia rolled her eyes.
Judith frowned but didn't let herself get too angry since she still has other plans to accomplish. She looked around and noticed Lucas and April were absent from the table.
"I can understand that my son is busy handling company matters. Is April now above the brook mansion rules for her to absent herself from the dinner table?" Judith scolded with her face scrunched up in anger.
"And how is her matter any of your business? Everyone in this house knows anytime April decides to eat in her bedroom, then it means she's currently working on a school project to avoid distractions. How does that affect you?" Olivia flared up in anger replying to her sister in law.
"You-"
"If it's not that you already have an evil plan against that poor girl, I don't see the reason why you want her to come for dinner tonight."
Swiftly after Olivia retorted, old man brook cleared his throat but didn't say anything, same with Brandon. After the argument between Olivia and Judith, everyone went in after dinner to rest for the day.
Lynn didn't go to sleep immediately and began to think of ways to make Lucas fall for her in the few days she'll be spending at the Brook mansion.
Lucas on the other side in his room had just finished a conference call when someone came knocking on his door.
Immediately he opened the door, the smell of sharp cologne filled his nostrils causing his eyebrows to furrow.
"Hi handsome!" Lynn greeted with a cheerful mellow voice and a bright seductive smile.
Lucas's eyes narrowed with a frosty glare as his eyes scanned the white lingerie bodysuit Lynn was wearing.
Lynn quickly cleared her throat, she could feel his cold stare running shivers down her spine. She could very well feel the unwelcomed sensation.
"Lucas darling, are you still angry with me?" She stretched her hand forward to touch him but Lucas dodged.
"I know what I did was wrong, but it's been two years already. And I miss you so much. I did it for us, can you please forgive me already?" Lynn pleaded.
"Your mother wanted us to get married, that's why I thought getting pregnant with your baby would bring us closer together."
"There was nothing like us in the first place, so stop deluding I'm not interested!" Lucas said coldly before slamming the door on her face.
"Lu- Lucas!" Lynn screamed his name loudly in a frown.
"Ahhhhh! Then I'll come back again, I promise!"
She arranged the bathrobe to cover her bodysuit before striding off in anger.
While all of these happened, Butler Finch witnessed it and immediately made a report to old man Brook.
April wasn't bothered by everything going on and instead focused on her new design till late at night before going to bed.
