Kakashi and Mizuru, startled by the sound, looked up in terror. Twenty meters ahead, a figure materialized—none other than Kamikaze Valley!
But the Kamikaze Valley before them was no longer the elegant warrior they remembered. His robes were stained with blood, and a gash on his right shoulder dripped crimson fluid. He looked somewhat disheveled.
Yet his aura remained undiminished by his injuries. Instead, it radiated an even more ferocious, bloodthirsty killing intent. The oppressive killing intent was so intense that Kakashi found it difficult to breathe, as if the surrounding air had solidified.
"The captain and the others..." Kakashi murmured inwardly at Kamikaze Valley's appearance. If Kamikaze Valley was here, it meant "Dragon" and the others had failed to stop him. Just as Kakashi had feared, they had likely either been killed in battle or rendered incapable of fighting.
The absence of the other three Sand Ninja—only Kamikaze Valley had pursued them—confirmed their fate: either dead or incapacitated.
"You can't escape," Kamikaze Valley declared coldly. "Accept your deaths!"
Seeing the terrified expressions on Kakashi and Mizuru's faces, Kamikaze Valley smirked coldly before sneering, "Wind Release: Wind Death Slicer!"
Without another word, Kamikaze Valley immediately attacked Kakashi and Mizuru. Prolonging the fight would only invite complications; it was best to eliminate them swiftly.
*If I kill them both, I won't have to live as a rogue ninja,* Kamikaze Valley thought to himself. He would gladly wipe out all the Konoha Anbu and Iwa-nin in one fell swoop if given the chance.
His killing intent toward Kakashi and Mizuru surged violently. No other reason was needed; the mere prospect of shedding his rogue ninja status was sufficient motivation.
*Swish! Swish! Swish!*
As Kamikaze Valley completed his hand seals, several wind blades materialized before him, slicing through the air toward Kakashi and Mizuru. The invisible blades carved through tree trunks and boulders as easily as cutting through tofu.
The wind blades reached Kakashi and Mizuru in an instant.
"Dodge quickly!" Kakashi shouted, ignoring his exhaustion as he swiftly evaded the attack, warning Mizuru simultaneously.
*Whoosh! Whoosh!*
Mizuru needed no further prompting. He dodged as quickly as Kakashi, knowing better than to try to block Kamikaze Valley's Wind Release attack with his Earth Release: Petrification Technique. The slicing power of the wind blades would undoubtedly injure him.
*Swish! Swish! Swish!*
After Kakashi and Mizuru dodged, the wind blades sliced through their previous positions, instantly carving deep, terrifying fissures into the ground.
Undaunted, the wind blades, manipulated by Kamikaze Valley, swerved to pursue Kakashi and Mizuru, continuing their relentless assault.
The blades' upward trajectory and speed were eerily unpredictable, making them nearly impossible to evade.
*Whoosh! Whoosh!*
Only Kakashi, with his Sharingan's enhanced vision, managed to repeatedly dodge the wind blades' attacks.
"Earth Release: Petrification Technique!"
Mizuru, lacking Kakashi's Sharingan, had no choice but to activate his Petrification Technique the moment he realized evasion was impossible.
*Sizzle!*
Though weakened, the wind blades still slashed across Mizuru's body, leaving several shallow cuts that spurted blood.
"Hmph!"
Mizuru grunted in pain.
Their desperate situation stemmed from their exhaustion after a long journey, their stamina and Chakra reserves severely depleted.
This vulnerability allowed Kamikaze Valley to overwhelm them with a single attack.
In contrast, while Kakashi had evaded Kamikaze Valley's assault, his condition was even more precarious. Having used Chidori twice in quick succession and retreated at full speed, his Chakra was nearly exhausted. Moreover, with his Sharingan exposed, even the Hatake Clan's unique Chakra recovery abilities couldn't keep up.
"What do we do?"
Kakashi's heart raced with anxiety. Not only could he no longer protect Mizuru, but he was struggling to protect himself. He hadn't expected to encounter such a formidable enemy!
"He's 'Wolf,' right? His chakra is also significantly depleted. If we're careful, we still have a chance to defeat him!"
As Kakashi's panic grew, Mizuru's voice suddenly rang in his ear.
Hearing this, Kakashi finally examined Kamikaze Valley more closely and realized Mizuru was right.
A cold sweat broke out on Kakashi's brow. How had he missed such a crucial detail? It seemed that as his soul fully integrated with his body, he would need to relearn some of his original combat instincts through actual combat.
Fortunately, the body's memories remained intact, making the process relatively easy.
"Hmph! Even with my chakra nearly exhausted, you're no match for me!" Kamikaze Valley sneered, panting heavily as he formed hand seals once more. "Die!"
"Wind Release: Gale Dragon Twister!"
Hearing Mizuru's words, Kamikaze Valley let out another contemptuous laugh. With a final burst of chakra, he unleashed a high-level Wind Release technique, one even Kakashi's Sharingan couldn't copy.
*Whoosh!*
A terrifying tornado erupted from Kamikaze Valley's mouth, swirling and expanding to a ten-meter radius as it surged toward Kakashi and Mizuru.
Everything in its path—sand, stones, leaves—was sucked into the vortex and instantly pulverized, a testament to its devastating power.
The tornado's upward spiral was astonishingly swift, reaching Kakashi and Mizuru in an instant.
Kamikaze Valley, despite his depleted Chakra and grievous injuries, had executed this advanced ninjutsu flawlessly. No wonder he was renowned as one of the Sand Ninja Village's strongest warriors!
His power likely rivaled that of the Fourth Kazekage himself!
To Kakashi, the jutsu's destructive force seemed no less than that of the Rasengan from a later era.
"Damn it!"
"Too fast! We can't dodge it! What do we do?"
Kakashi's pupils constricted, his heart pounding with alarm.
"We have no choice. I'll channel all my Chakra into this strike!"
