The party went on without any obstruction.
Besides the awkward glances of the villagers toward the chief nothing else happened.
But despite the curious glances, the chief didn't explain himself. Perhaps he thought that he would do it another time or perhaps he wouldn't explain at all.
The next day at noon a villager come to Hong's courtyard and said to Cloud that the chief ask him to go to his courtyard.
Cloud has just finish eating when that happened so he quickly clean up and then go.
Hong is not home at the moment he is still at the place where the villagers gathered the severely injured.
His injuries are quite severe. His right arm and several of his ribs are broken.
So he would need someone to take care of him and he shouldn't be moved too much.
But even though the injuries are quite severe, it isn't life threatening for someone of Hong's stage.
After all Martial Body Realm is already on the threshold of superhuman.
It has not completely left the human boundary yet but at Cloud's previous world, he is sure that not many people reached this stage.
Maybe only some hidden masters that never appears in public.
As for those that fight in public for entertaining people, their champion would be beaten one sidedly if they fight someone like Hong.
Not to mention Hong that can kill several large beasts like tiger and the like, even at Cloud's level where he can defeat such a beast one on one is already beyond them.
It doesn't take long for Cloud to reach the chief's courtyard. He knock on the courtyard's door and the chief's voice come from inside, telling him to come in.
Cloud come into the courtyard and seeing that the chief is not at the outer area he look inside the house.
The door to the house is open so that's why Cloud dare to look. If not it would be impolite.
When looking inside Cloud found that the chief is sitting at a bamboo sofa, waiting for him.
When he sees Cloud he tell him to come inside and sit. Cloud sit at the other sofa opposite the chief.
"How is your injuries?" The chief spoke first.
"It's okay, just minor injuries." Cloud reply honestly.
"What are your plans from now on?" The chief ask.
"I plan to leave and visit the city sometime soon."
"I see... As expected."
The chief has already asked around.
Cloud's plan to leave was never a secret. Hong and the other hunters who are always with Cloud has already know this.
"Won't you consider staying? I can offer you some benefits if you do."
"Even if you give me benefits I would still go sooner or later. I want to see the world."
"Indeed... You are still young after all so that's make sense."
The chief has been watching over Cloud in the past year.
He is impressed by the young man and he saw potential on him.
Cloud's growth was significant after all, he overtook most villagers and become the second strongest in the village.
Well now it's the third because it turns out that the chief is the strongest.
And Cloud didn't reached this point because he has special talent or because the other villagers slack off.
The villagers also work hard everyday. After all nobody in this world doesn't want to become a cultivator.
Everyone can practically train their body to the Martial Body Realm so everyone would do that in hope of reaching the next Realm.
Most people never slack off and work very hard everyday.
Despite this Cloud still overtook a lot of villagers so the chief definitely notice the potential.
He wanted Cloud to stay and help him grow the village but if that's not possible he at least want to befriend him.
After all with those potential, the chief think that Cloud might become someone in the future.
If he successfully befriend him then in the future if he was in trouble or he face a calamity he can ask for help.
Actually from Cloud's perspective, he already has some connections to the village.
Especially Hong and the hunters. They are already like brothers and friends.
As for the chief, he is not exactly a friend but Cloud has a good impression of him.
After all one year ago when he can't speak and has nowhere to go the chief took him in instead of driving him away.
Cloud is thankfull of that but that debt has pretty much been paid by his contribution this past year
From when he became a hunter his contribution gradually rise significantly. Now if anyone count, then his contribution would be among the top in the village.
The chief also understand this. He doesn't try to use the past to make Cloud stay.
Instead he turn to support him.
"Okay then, when do you plan to leave?"
"I'll leave once brother Hong is fully recovered."
"Okay, if you need anything just tell me. I'll do my best to help."
Cloud thank the chief for that then he left the courtyard.
