Chapter 7 - Alana’s Disappearance

That night, Alaska's mansion no longer felt like a sanctuary.

Kenan stood before the massive table cluttered with maps, intel sheets, and photos of familiar enemies from a nightmare that never died.

"Boss, they've spread out," Kenan reported quickly. "Two groups at the harbor, one at the old warehouse where you were attacked six years ago."

"And they're using the same name. The Rave Syndicate."

Alaska, sitting still in front of the surveillance screens, didn't flinch. But the sharp clench in his jaw said everything.

"They won't stop until I fall," he said coldly. "Or until they learn why I'm still alive."

Kenan swallowed hard.

"Maybe it's time you tell Alana everything. She doesn't understand what she's stuck in."

Alaska turned his eyes toward him sharp, warning.

"If she knows everything, she'll never look at me again."

In Alana's room

Alana sat by the window, staring out with a heart full of conflict.

She was exhausted tired of fighting, tired of hoping.

But the mystery of Alaska's past gnawed at her relentlessly.

The door creaked behind her.

"You're still awake?" Alaska's deep voice echoed softly.

"Hard to sleep in a place like this," Alana muttered without turning. "Feels like I'm being watched."

"Because you are," Alaska walked closer. "Not to cage you to protect you."

"Guarding or controlling?" She faced him, eyes sharp. "I don't know the difference anymore."

For the first time, Alaska looked tired… human.

"I know you hate me," he said quietly. "But there's something you need to know before you try to run again."

"About what?" she narrowed her gaze.

"About why I am like this."

Alaska's Past

His voice dropped low, heavy, broken by ghosts.

"Six years ago, I lost my little sister, Aksa.

She was kidnapped by The Rave Syndicate the same people coming after you now.

They wanted to hurt me through her."

His fists tightened.

"I went alone to save her… but all I found was her body."

Alana's breath hitched, shock freezing her words.

"I nearly died that night.

They thought I did.

Ever since, I've lived for one thing revenge."

He lifted his head, eyes dark but vulnerable.

"Until I met you."

"Me?" Alana frowned. "What does that have to do with me?"

"When I first saw you in that bar, you reminded me so much of Aksa the way you fought back, the fire in your words.

But then I realized… it wasn't just similarity.

You brought back the part of me that died with her."

Alana's heart twisted pity and fear tangled in her ribs.

"So you locked me up?" she whispered.

"Because you're scared of losing me like you lost her?"

Alaska nodded no excuses, no lies.

"I know it's wrong, Alana.

But I can't control that fear."

Suddenly, a massive explosion roared outside.

The windows rattled violently.

"Boss! They're here!" Bumi shouted.

Alaska drew his gun instantly.

"Stay here!" he ordered.

"You think I'll just hide?!" Alana snapped.

"This is because of me too! I'm not letting you get hurt!"

"You don't understand what they're capable of just listen!"

"That's exactly why I won't let you face it alone!" she screamed back.

Two stubborn hearts both terrified of losing the other.

Alaska finally exhaled, defeated by his own love.

"Fine. But you stay behind me."

Outside the mansion

Gunfire lit up the courtyard.

Flames roared from burning vehicles.

Alaska and Kenan led their men, shooting with surgical precision every move fueled by rage and grief.

Alana crouched behind an armored car, trembling.

She watched Alaska swift, ruthless, unstoppable.

But through the smoke, a figure emerged.

A man in a black suit, smiling as if death was a joke.

"Arganta… we finally meet again."

Alaska froze eyes widening.

"Rave…" he growled.

"You're still alive."

The man's icy eyes slid to Alana.

"And it seems you've found a replacement for little Aksa, hmm?"

"Touch her, and I'll burn your entire world again," Alaska warned.

Rave chuckled darkly.

"You're still the same protect one, destroy thousands.

But this time… the one you protect will be the one who destroys you."

Another explosion thundered near the mansion.

Kenan grabbed Alaska's arm.

"Boss! We need to evacuate her now!"

"Get Alana! Take her and go!" Alaska demanded.

But when he turned

She was gone.

Only her jacket remained on the ground.

"ALANA!!!" Alaska's voice cracked panic tearing through him for the first time in years.

And that night, for the second time in his life,

Alaska Bumi Arganta lost the person who made him feel alive.
