Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

After what he let out, a deep silence followed. How do I tell this guy that I'm in love with him? I wondered.

"I violated your consent. I hurt you. There is no excuse. Since that day, I feel a deep resentment for what I did to you, so I would understand if you say you even hate me now. I'm not going to ask you to forgive me; it's your personal decision. I just want you to know how sorry I am," He said, almost in tears.

"Matheo, I honestly don't know what to say, but I just know I need time to process things and be able to forgive you," I said, looking confused.

"Okay, baby, by the way, what were you discussing with that guy?" He asked, squeezing his brows.

"Matheo, I've told you before, Liam is just my Coursemate, and we were talking about school-related issues," I said, knowing fully well I was lying.

"Please, I don't want to see you around him anymore," He said authoritatively. I didn't even know what to reply to him, so I just twitched my mouth and eyed him.

"I'm serious," he said. I didn't reply to him; I just ignored him. So we started talking about other random things, then I asked him if he was feeling better, and then he replied, "Yes, I'm okay, baby".

Throughout our conversation, I could see he was fighting so hard to avoid touching me, because he is so touchy, and the thought of it made me smile.

He begged me to spend the night at his place since it was already late, and also promised that nothing was going to happen, and the first thing in the morning, he would drop me off at my dorm. I thought about it for a while, and then I accepted.

He took me to the room I stayed in before, then left for his room after I had settled down. I just lay on my bed processing everything that had happened and I don't know why I was just smiling.

When I woke up, I saw him sitting on a stool beside me, waiting for me to wake up, and I saw that he had kept breakfast for me on the table. I couldn't stop smiling at the sight before me. So I went to freshen up, then I went to the table, picked up the food, told him thank you, then I sat on the bed and started eating the food.

He couldn't stop staring at me while I was eating, and he said with a smile, "Baby, you are so beautiful."

I couldn't stop blushing after hearing that, and then I said with a big smile on my face, "Thank you."

He kept stealing glances at me until I was done eating. I took the plates to the kitchen and did the dishes. After I was done, I went back to meet him in the room. We spoke for a while before we left his house, and went to my dorm.

When we got to my dorm, I was about to step out of his car when he asked,

"Baby, can I still keep calling you?"

"Yes, you can," I replied with my eyelids fluttering. He smiled at me for approving his request, told me, "Bye, baby." Then he drove off.

I walked into my room, lay on the bed, and started reminiscing about what had happened these past hours, before I remembered that I had not called Liam to check up on him or even checked up on Rita to see how everything went.

Then I decided to call Rita first. I called her several times but she didn't pick up. I was already panicking, thinking she was angry with me, before I got a call from her. I picked up the call, and we exchanged pleasantries. Then she told me she was sleeping and she just woke up, which was why she was unable to pick up.

"So, how are you doing? I'm sorry I just left like that, and I didn't call before now to check up on you. I met Matheo while I was talking to Liam, and he literally dragged me to his house," I asked her, while feeling bad.

"I'm good, love, after you left, some of our coursemates in the party and separated Liam from Matheo's minions (James and Adams). Liam was angry but he didn't sustain much injuries but I think you should call him to check up on him. So what happened between you and Matheo?" Rita said, hurriedly.

I quickly briefed her on what happened between Matheo and me, and I told her that the conversation had softened the tension between us. I also added that I was going to call Liam after the call.

After the call, I called Liam on the phone, and then he answered, "Hello, how are you doing?"

" I'm good, how about you?" I replied.

"I'm okay," he replied.

"I called you to apologize for what happened yesterday. I'm really sorry, and also to check up on you," I said.

"No, no, it's not your fault, you don't have to apologize, it was nothing serious, and by the way, I enjoyed our conversation yesterday. You know we've not had conversations outside the school curriculum, so it was fun to see other sides of you, too," he said, with an excitement in his voice.

Well, I was surprised by his response. I didn't have much to say, so I just told him, "Thank you." We ended the call with a conclusion that we were going to continue our conversation in school.

How I wished that conversation hadn't happened.
