Chapter 14 - CHAP-12: USELESS PEOPLE

Ash brought the shovel down and directly flattened the head of the nearest elderly Zombie that had pounced in front of her.

Followed by a kick.

"Clang!"

Her shovel head was already inserted into the head of that Zombie elderly man. Severing his brainstem.

At this point, this Zombie was completely dead. She turned the shovel in her hand, slightly disappointed, pulled it out, and left. It was only the early stage now, so there's no crystal cores in the Zombie's brain yet.

Given this, her killing became even more brutal and concise.

"Bang bang bang!"

"Bang bang bang!"

"Bang!"

Ashira found a direction with fewer Zombies, one person with one shovel, charging and killing all the way, clearing the road at the tail end of the car accident scene.

At this time, the Zombies were mainly gathered at the front of the car accident, where the smell of blood was strongest. Ashira was fast and efficient, and her movements were quiet.

Taking advantage of the fact that there weren't many Zombies yet, she smoothly rushed out of the car accident scene.

Just as she was about to rush out of the intersection, she heard screams from a nearby car that had also crashed but whose occupants were luckily still alive.

It was a very expensive sports car.

"Ah-she killed someone!" The girl in the passenger seat of the car shrieked, trembling, clutching her boyfriend's hand, and watching the slaughtering Ash outside in horror.

Ashira glanced coldly into their car.

This car's airbags were also deployed. She withdrew her gaze.

Useless car. Just as useless as the people inside.

Ash continued to retreat forward. She still needed to find a car to leave later, or run out of the City on foot if she couldn't find one.

Just then, the door of the car behind her opened.

"Can you take us with you?" The young Man in the driver's seat opened the car door and immediately asked Ashira for help.

"If you take us to a safe place, I'll give you money! My dad is the chairman of the big company, my family has plenty of money! Whatever you want, I'll give you as much as you want!"

Ashira couldn't even be bothered to look at him and continued running forward.

"Baby, what are you talking to her about? She killed people! So many people! We should call the police and have her arrested!"

"Shut up!" The Man saw Ashira turn her head and dart into a small alley. He pulled the woman beside him and quickly followed.

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

After clearing five Zombies, Ash finally left the hospital area. This was a small alley in a residential area.

At this time, the residential area had not seen a large-scale Zombie outbreak because most people were trapped at home. Ashira walked along uninhabited areas like green belts. Occasionally, she encountered a few sanitation worker Zombies or jogging Zombies, which was just a matter of one shovel.

She was looking for a vehicle as she walked. Unfortunately, she didn't see a single car. And behind her now were two little tails.

"Baby, this road is too hard to walk on, I can't walk in high heels!"

"If you can't walk, then scram!" The Man was losing patience.

After being yelled at, the woman's face was instantly filled with grievances. She wanted to act spoiled again to make her boyfriend feel pity for her.

"baby"

Who would have thought that her usual foolproof tactic would only earn her one sentence today.

"How did I find such a useless and brainless woman like you! You can't do anything and you're dragging me down! If you want to die, don't drag me with you! Get lost!"

Hearing this, the woman's pretty face froze. She bit her lip, looked at Ashira, who was taking down one Zombie with each shovel swing in front, and her boyfriend, who had left her behind and was running to follow. She didn't say another word, limping along in her high heels to catch up.

Ash killed zombies in her way through the side green belt. Just then, she finally saw a delivery truck with its door open in front of a convenience store.

A car!

If there were no more cars, she would have had to break into a car dealership to steal one! Without a word, Ashira sprinted towards the delivery truck. As soon as she ran, the couple behind her also quickly chased after her.

When Ashira reached the car, she was pleasantly surprised to find that the key was still in the ignition, the car door was open, and the person inside was gone. She also took a look at the convenience store behind her.

The convenience store was also empty at this moment, with no one inside, only blood spilled all over the counter. It seemed that this place couldn't be spared either. Someone must have turned into a Zombie, driving everyone else away.

After pulling out the car key, Ashira, adhering to the principle of never leaving empty-handed, rushed in to scavenge another wave of supplies.

You know, spending half a minute more to clear out these things from the store now means that in the future, trying to scavenge the same amount of supplies would require hundreds or thousands of times more time and difficulty than now!

The Zombie era wasn't just a few seconds now, but forever and ever in the future.

After she escaped, the situation in the future could only become increasingly severe. No one ever has too many supplies. Ashira made the decision to sweep in a wave of goods with barely a second thought.

By the time the two little tails who had been following her ran in, the convenience store was basically empty except for the items at the counter!

Ashira didn't take the shelves this time. The convenience store was small. She ran around it twice, and all the supplies from top to bottom were absorbed into her space.

All sorts of snacks and candies, daily necessities and general merchandise, as well as Ash favorite convenience store exclusive food items like hand-rolled rice balls, sushi, bento boxes, bread, cakes, and ice cream.

In addition, the drinks were basically all swept away.

"Is this a new convenience store?" The woman ran in, panting, only to find that there was basically nothing inside.

Ashira knew that there were little tails following her. Before leaving, she pretended to be carrying two buckets of water in her hands and carried them to the car outside in front of them.

"Hey! You didn't pay, did you? And you took the things, what are we going to eat later!?" The woman questioned Ashira loudly, feeling indignant. Her words only earned her a sentence from the Man beside her. "Are you nuts!?"

After scolding her, the young Man tried to catch up with Ashira. "Miss, can you take me with you? Take me to Winston Mansion in the west of the City! If you take me there, I'll give you money! One million!"

Ashira got into the car and slammed the door shut. This time, she was somewhat interested in replying to him. "Do you still think money is useful at this time?"

The Man's face instantly became very ugly. Money was useless now, completely useless! He watched helplessly as Ashira drove the delivery truck away from here.

"Baby, look, she doesn't appreciate your kindness at all. No matter what you say, she ignores you. We should have called the police!"

"Idiot! Do you think the police and money are still useful now!?" The man roared.

More than forty minutes later...

Ashira successfully rushed out of the City and drove onto the suburban road. As she drove away from the big City, the number of Zombies and mutations on the road also decreased significantly.

The outer areas currently seemed unaffected.

"Screech!" Ashira stopped the car in front of her warehouse.

"Woof woof woof!" Storm sensed Ashira's arrival immediately and barked excitedly at her.

Ash went up and rubbed her head. "You've worked hard."

She picked up Storm and also brought along a large pile of goods still in the warehouse. These were the items Ashira had purchased yesterday at the farmers' market and supermarket.

With a wave of her hand, all the dense supplies entered her space. Her space could hold the chickens, ducks, and small sheep she had bought yesterday.

Thinking of this, she tried to put Storm inside. But...

"Woof woof woof!" She couldn't be put in.

Seeing this, she could roughly guess that the system could only store low-intelligence living creatures with food attributes. Dogs were not allowed.

Then living people definitely wouldn't be allowed either.

Ash wasn't too disappointed. It would be best if this function existed, but it wasn't a big deal if it didn't. Because she always felt that her own strength was the real strength.

Such a big cheat like the system should not be overly relied upon. She could only borrow its power to strengthen herself and completely make this power her own. Otherwise, if the system disappeared or something unexpected happened, she would definitely be finished.

After sweeping the warehouse clean of supplies, Ashira closed the door and left with Storm. Straight to her air-raid shelter! Returning to the doomsday shelter she had built!
