During that period, every night from midnight to 2 AM, I found it hard to sleep, pretending to be asleep but secretly shedding tears! During the day, I really enjoyed meeting friends (I have quite a few small business owner friends) to huddle together for warmth. As the saying goes, when three walk together, one can be my teacher. But this isn't entirely accurate. We brainstormed daily, constantly had new ideas, but one must realize, under the prevailing environment then, it was like Sun Wukong unable to escape the Buddha's palm. They felt the Hong Kong government genuinely had policies to help SMEs, and returning to figure things out would surely help overcome the difficulties. As the saying goes, affection between men and women shortens ambition. After the Chief Executive announced the border closure, I decided that no matter how tough, the family should stay together. If I returned, I might not see my child for a very long time. But the truth proved that the brothers who returned to Hong Kong fared better than those who stayed in Shanghai. This became my only regretful decision.
