"Calm down!" Exclaimed David, "what is so special about the electric wolf?"
"what's so special?" the specialist exclaimed with shock wrote all over his face, "have you been hiding under a rock! Do you not socialise or read the newsletters!?"
Just in that moment a moment of realisation hit Freda, "no? it couldn't, it has some blue tint?".
The specialist looked genuinely perplexed, it was wrote all over his face, circling around David and the wolf in deep study, "how is this possible, two elements in one spirit animal? Boy, please explain what happens when you meditate and I will tell you the history of the electric wolf".
David walked slowly to the large tinted windows and took a seat on the black basalt window ledge in deep thought placing his hand on his chin and staring at the alter. 'we have lived excluded from the world in our cottage, just surviving and living but I never stopped to think how expansive this world really is. I need to find out everything there is to this wolf if I really want to connect to it, if I really want to level it up to be able to pass the academy and fight the war. Is it really that special?'
"okay, so when I meditate all I see a silhouette of wolf running with an otter swimming along side it and a dragon flying above them. I don't see any elements or in fact any colours other than shades of black grey and white. i know my dad always told me he seen blood red flames when his spirit animal appeared, so I thought maybe ice or snow or dark magic? I just don't understand it. How could I have 2 elements?"
Pacing around the alter with his head looking at the floor throwing his hands about frantically the scientist started muttering "2 elements? 3 spirit animals? How is this possible? What is this other element, why blue, could it be water? How would this mix with electric? Is this really the electric wolf or something else completely?" until Freda snapped him out of it clicking her fingers and shouting "come on, tell him the story of the electric wolf!".
Stopping suddenly and looking up with an expression of both sadness and what could only be described of pure respect. "50 years ago the electric wolf was ambushed alongside its person, your grandfather, General Shawn Tearington."
The shock on both Freda and David's face in that moment was priceless, jaws wide open and wide eye's. "your granddad left home when he became general to protect your dad. Only the royal family and myself where entrusted with your families information. It can be found in the castles vault. He kept peace for the previous 40 years with the most powerful wolf the world has seen, the electric wolf. Four kingdoms had great respect and fear. Four kings called on him to settle their disputes between each other, his presence alone was reason enough to find a compromise. However the fifth kingdoms king, King Eoghan, was not interested, he wanted to be the one and only ruler of all the land air and sea. On that regretful night 50 years ago, he set up an ambush on your grandfather luring him in on the false pretence he wanted peace." The specialist paused for a moment then continued, "your grandfather is the only known person with the electric wolf as a spirit animal, he kept the scrolls with everything it learned and all its stats as it levelled up, he burnt it when he knew he wasn't going to live to stop it from falling into the wrong hands. Your dad learnt more about your grandfather during his time here, him and that silly flaming robin redbreast was not to be messed with, he too will be in the kings book of legends after saving 100s of men, sacrificing himself to do so. It's a sad really, your grandfather left to protect your dad, who left to protect you. I hope you're the generation of Tearingtons who can end this war and finally bring peace to the world once again."
Tears streamed down David's face emotions on full show, the confusion, the thankfulness and the determination to be the change he wanted to see in the world. Freda softly placed her hands on each cheek of his face and softly spoke, "I am going to train as a healer, your dad didn't have that support, but you will. You will finish what they fought so hard for and we will ensure your future son does not suffer the same fate".
Breaking a moment of silence, breaking the thoughts after the gravity of what they had been told and snapping them back to the present, the large dark oak door with black metal frames slammed against the hard black basalt walls, and a deep voice exuded across the room "another two Tearingtons within the ranks, you have big boots to fill, we start immediately, we need to find what stats your spirit animal is, come!"
