"I thought only the royals had our family information?" David turned puzzled to the specialist.
"That's our kings 6th son General Derek. He dropped his title to join the war but still has privileges in the royal family. He runs this academy, and doesn't like to be kept waiting" he bellowed while scurrying after the general.
Freda and David glanced at each other the stumbled forward over the cobble rocked floor in order not to be left behind. Rushing through the corridors and turning a corner seeing just the last flick of the red cape that hung from the generals shoulders. Reaching the corner the rushed forward.
"where did they go!" Freda exclaimed rushing forward and suddenly feeling a hand yank her into a room.
"what the!" she stumbled in, stopping and looking around and the massive hall filled with benches and a large battle court. Massive lines of light running along the basalt walls illuminating the entire room making a modern yet intimidating feel to the room.
"First things first, recall that wolf back to where it came from. We don't want anyone knowing we potentially have one of the most legendary spirit animals by our side" General Derek sternly spoke. David immediately recall the spirit animal confused, "was the electric wolf not the reason peace kept in the lands?" he remarked.
"You have a lot to learn young one, it was not just the wolf but the man that it decided to join. He was remarkable. His knowledge, his values and his determination to be better, to make these lands better where also the traits that led us to listen to reason."
Immediately turning to the benches General Derek reached for books that looked like they where 1000 years old, along with some that where so pristine they could have been wrote today. "This is 300 years worth of an art that you need to learn. Start after I leave. Your new room is at the door on the other side of this arena. This will be you and your groups private place. You will all have private tutors teaching your group, one of which will be specialist Gerald here who you have met already. No one else should know who you are. You can leave this area a mix with the other students and teachers but only after you have mastered this art. Do you understand?"
"Our group?" questioned David.
"Is this all necessary?" followed Freda
"Yes, and yes. Your group is a carefully selected to match with your energy and share your traits and interests, the only big difference is you will all specialise in something specific creating a team of the ages, that is if you focus on your training. David you will lead the team; Freda you will be the team's healer. And its Necessary for reasons you don't understand yet but will grow too. Your home was given to your grandfather by the royal family David. We have kept tabs not only to ensure your safety but also to monitor your likes, dislikes, strengths, weaknesses, qualities and traits. You both have files that take a vault each. You didn't think you where so secluded from the world accidentally did you?" smirked the general.
Freda and David slowly turned and looked at each other, then back to the general. Who stood there, confidence oozing out of his clear skin and short spiked light brown hair, the front of which was just perfectly waved diagonally towards the sky as if a gust of wind had hit him from the bottom left. Freda started to notice his chiselled jawline and broad shoulder, his uniform completely complimenting his muscular body. Snapping out of the daze she slowly lifted her hand to her elbow, agreeing with the plan.
David took a deep breath in, and with the exhale, curiosity wrecking his brain asked, "so, how do I find out my spirit animals stats?"
"That's easy!" chuckled Gerald calming some of the tension in the air, "close your eyes, meditate, communicate with your spirit animal, it will tell you everything about it current status".
Closing his eyes and take deliberate deep breaths, David started to feel his mind shift, as if it was going into another dimension but still conscious of his body. Slowly but surely his wolf came out of the darkness and behind it literature illuminated in a bright sun yellow.
