Chapter 24 - suspicious

Jairo walked home alone, almost forgetting to stumble with his steps. There weren't very many people around at night time, but it was still good to be on the side of caution.

Personally he was tired already. 'At this point just fucking draft me.' Thought that might not have been the best idea now that he had thought about it. He had never been the luckiest individual, And he didn't like to test luck in his old life, let alone his new one.

"Actually, to anyone above who heard that, I take it back." He muttered.

As he walked, he made it to his own place. Build with clay and wood, with straw to cover the roof. overall it was nice for its size.

Everyone was promised one once they came of age. Fortunately his mother already gave him one. he inherited his. as he walked inside, he saw his bed with a fur skin cover.

To his far left was a jumble of things, toys and trinkets that had been taken with them here. He still couldn't remember where he came from, but they gave insight.

He didn't need one as werewolves were naturally warm. Sitting down, he looked to a mask that had a more scary face, humanoid. 'I like to think my mother put the mask there to watch over any bad spirits or anything else from this world, make them think twice about messing with me.'

That was another weird thing about reincarnation. He was receiving emotions that were not quite his, at least originally.

'Hopefully it stops here.'

he sat down and waited. And eventually something whispered behind his ear. "Hello there."

Jumping up, he turned around to see Ariel. "How do you do that?"

"Can't tell you or show you. Now come here. I've got something I wish to give you as well."

Bringing her body closer, she handed him a wooden box. "When you arrive, open it."

"And I assume this place i will be arriving to is

Far away from here? It seems even now I won't be able to see you.."

Cutting away from that dreary mood, Jairo took notice of the fact that he and Ariel were in very close proximity.

"But i know that was not the only reason why you are here. What should we do?"

He was still very nervous, his heard thumping in his chest. To be great, one had to put themselves in a proper position.

She then snuggled up closely to him. "To be honest I'm not sure what to do here. Should I make my mark? Doesn't matter. point is, I'm going to miss you. More than they will. More than you know."

He nodded his head. "So it seems like even where I'm going…I won't be able to see you."

She nodded. "We still have a few days before a few helpers will arrive, and take you away. She held his hand. "And in a few years when I am the head of my Family, I will arrive to retrieve you. Though before you even leave I hope you do not think of other women while I am away."

"Interesting, truly. I don't wish to have that kind of affect on them anyway. Stay away from any men here as well."

She gave him a longing look before pulling him close, kissing him, pressing their mouths against one another, before hugging him close and laying down. "I'm tired. I know you're tired as well. I wish to go to bed."

He got got a good feel of her, wrapping his hands around parts of her body as her hands trailed to different parts of his.

"I'll hold out until you arrive to get me."

"Good. I have a special place to take you tomorrow." , she said pressing his nose deeper into her neck.

Before they had realized it, they had succumbed to exhaustion and the comfort of the other. Dozing peacefully to sleep.

He had a very unusual dream. It sounded like someone speaking to him. Like glass cracking and somehow making sense.

He tried to listen to the voice. What it was saying.

As he focused, he began to feel…regular. His nose took in the fresh scent of cooked meat,

His closed eyelids could not block the rays of sunlight from getting through.

something seemed to speak to him. as he had awoke, his arms felt to light. nothing was in his grip. he couldn't smell her. as he sat up on his bed, he woke up to nobody being there.

And now his mood was already getting worse.

"Damn it."

That dream was the creepiest thing he's heard in a while. Worse off, it was one of the few he could remember.

Rubbing his eyes, he stood up and walked over to the side of his room. He looked at the blade, blue and vibrant in the mourning sun and picked it up, wrapping it in cloth before leaving his home.

'you don't have much time left now bud. its about time we get a bit more noteworthy.'

This played through Jairos mind as he walked past Vendors who made wooden dolls and toys for young cubs, often using their own claws to carve out intricate designs. Lizards and others types of beasts were created with near flawless designs.

At least he thought so. He hadn't seen half of those creatures in person. A part of him hoped he never did.

But then he saw something. As he walked through and past past the many people in this bustling villiage, he saw a woman being shoved to a different and secluded part of a building, obscuring view.

Looking closer, he had seen that it was a nice looking lady with well trimmed fur. The woman who had helped him out of the villiage when he did need it. And following her was a very suspicious, unfriendly looking man.

His expression straightened as he walked toward them. 'Oh hell no.'
