upon walking to the area where she was, he had seemed to forget to limp, the feeling of being watched was ever-present but It just didn't seem to matter at the moment.
as he approached, he was able to hear a few things.
"where is it? we had a deal. my men need this and right now we have nothing." it came out in a more aggressive and impatient tone.
The woman he was familiar with didn't seem intimidated however. "your idiot men are the reason you don't have it. not even being prepared for a single ambush. I did my job and they-"
"shut your mouth." he said, his tone barely above yelling. "you dare to disrespect me while mocking my men while holding things that we have given to you?"
she simply watched as he rambled on, she wasn't fully looking at him anymore, as she saw someone approaching from behind. looking closer, she leaned a bit to the side and saw the adorable kid she had saved the other day. 'by the gods what is he doing here?'
inwardly she was praying he turned round and ran away. as he got closer they locked eyes, but only for a moment.
the man she was speaking to took over her vision once more, this time looking as if to harm. "I apologize, was the talk of the struggles of a few of my dead subordinates boring you? you're making it difficult to find reasons not to cut you loose."
just then she stepped back a bit further. "what were you looking at anyway?"he turned for just a moment, just enough to see Jairo leap onto the man, tackling him onto the floor.
'strike first. ACT QUICKLY!'
Jairo wasted no time as he threw a punch down at the man. It crashed into his face, sending him looking to the left.
it hurt a little but he wasted no time winding up another and sending it crashing into his face.
The next punch drew blood. He watched at it spilled a little onto the side.
His hearts began thumping. Right now he was winning, but he needed to end the fight quickly.
He readied another punch, but the feeling of needles piercing his skin stopped him. Though it was more convenient to call them mini knives.
Looking down he saw the man had a hand full of claws grabbing at his side. 'Shit!'
Before he could retaliate, a hand quickly swept past his face, leaving gashes on it. Jairo fell off of the man, both his Face and Waist bleeding.
'How could I have forgotten to pull out my claws at a time like this?'
that did not matter, he leaned over and tried to stand up, but the man quickly kicked him in the gut.
"Who the hell are you? And why did you think you could beat me?" He brushed his tongue one of his teeth and felt how loose it was.
"When I kill you I do wonder what your teeth will sell for."
as he walked over to Jairo with claws out, ready to truly tear into him, but a fresh pair of arms grab onto him from behind, wrapping around his neck and closing tightly.
"You stupid bitch!" The man yelled as he went to the nearest wall. It was obvious who this was.
He intended to slam her against the wall.
Jairo was panicking still. the moment blood was spilled things had usually stopped. as he looked up, he saw the woman he was supposed to protect, saving his life. the man was now screaming and trying to get her off. someone would be here soon.
but they might not be quick enough to save her. 'get up. Get up you fucking idiot' that was what he was telling himself as he quickly stood, blood dripping from his waist and his face.
'You started this damnit. End it.'
taking a breath, he grabbed the blade that was a short bit away from him, picking it up and tearing off its cloth covering. the blue blade was firm in his grip as he looked towards the nice lady, she was holding on, but the man was slamming her into walls and trying too shake her off.
he had to end this now.
Taking a breath, he looked at the both of the, slowly pacing around until he found the perfect place. Just as he had slammed her into a wall, he began pulling her off.
Her leg wasn't behind his shoulder anymore.
The man had pulled at her, finally throwing the woman off of his back with a smile, yet he saw a flash of blue in his peripheral and looked up.
He saw Jairo, forcing his eyes open as he ran with all his might, it was too late to react, he could do nothing as he was pinned against the wall, the sword pinning him there like a nail to a wooden plank.
He screamed in pain. Jairo looked to him with his hands on the blade. He tried to use his other arm, so Jairo pressed the blade deeper.
For the first time, that desperation came to the front. He felt that he could absolutely kill the man in front of him right now.
The man upon seeing the look in his eyes had decided to stop. "I give up. I surrender." His hand was raised but open.
A part of Jairo truly wanted to kill this man. He talked so casually about killing him and selling his teeth. Would it not be ironic if his body parts were now being sold?
Never once did he let his guard down.
"who are you and what do you want with her? is it worth you're life?"
He opened his mouth to answer, but clapping noises resounding behind them. Followed by a voice he simply hated the sound of.
"Truly amazing. A bit amateur, but damn good for an amateur."
Jairo turned around to see the only person he could think of. Caspien. And behind him was a good portion of the entire village, watching with a mix of worry and excitement.
"Don't worry, the only reason they didn't intervene was because I told them not to. I wanted them to see and to see myself if you had truly recovered or not."
The arrogant smile on his face was pissing Jairo off with every second that passed.
As Caspien casually strolled in, it spelled the end. For any hope of leaving. Jairo felt claustrophobic, like every wall was closing in on him now.
Caspien put a hand over Jairos shoulder. As revolting as it felt, he had to go along with it. Men in positions of power don't like not having their ego stroked.
"It seems like a soldier injured in battle had made an astonishing recovery. He's better than before if I say so."
The crowd cheered for him. Yet he felt so disgustingly dissatisfied and disappointed.
Caspien looked to him once more. "Welcome back."
