Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Secret Police on the Run

Era 2137, Germany, Berlin, Secret Police Berlin Bunker.

Why run?

Are we, a group of secret police, afraid of a bunch of militants?

Oh well, forget it. Since we are already here, we might as well have a "friendly discussion" with the Berlin Police Commissioner. In reality, it was to probe the German police's attitude toward this attack and their future actions. If the German police were unwilling to talk, they would have to use their status to pressure them.

Of course, Germans would not easily reveal their secrets to others.

The squad members understood this well; naturally, they wouldn't ask about another country's state secrets.

The Solar System Federation Committee's Secret Police station in Germany was located in a bunker, about 1000 meters away from the tallest building in Berlin, the New Berlin Skyline Building. This was a bustling downtown area, but the people coming and going were powerful "aristocrats" from German economic groups. The pace of life in this area seemed quite leisurely; people here liked a slow tempo.

Actually, Joseph didn't quite understand why such an important base was placed in such an obvious location. However, he couldn't worry about that much. Since the Solar System Federation Government chose to place the secret police base here, they must have had their reasons.

"Aba aba..." At this moment, Kazumiko appeared particularly relaxed and happy. She made funny faces and acted cute toward Belgrade, making him laugh out loud. To be honest, she was indeed quite cute.

They walked into the bunker. The entire bunker covered a massive area; in the city of Berlin, there were almost no underground structures larger than this one. The walls of the base adopted a white, minimalist style, making it look out of place amidst the prosperous streets of Berlin. However, for the sake of unity and ease of management, the Solar System Federation Committee designed all bases with the same specifications, and the workers who designed and built them were exactly the same.

Inside the bunker, high-ranking Berlin officials had been waiting for them for a long time. The Director of the Berlin Intelligence Bureau sat at the head of the conference table. He showed the squad a series of photos, closed his eyes, and then waved his hand, signaling the Police Commissioner to continue.

"This row of people are the officers who lost their lives in the explosion. The other row contains all the police forces we can provide you, as well as people who can offer support and assistance." The Police Commissioner seemed a bit unnatural. Seeing the threatening look in the Intelligence Director's eyes, he was obviously cowed. He didn't dare to bluff in front of this high-ranking German official. One wrong word could cost him his job. After all, this matter concerned the Nazis, and the Intelligence Director did not want to be labeled a suspect.

"So, the support we can provide you is all here. We, the Berlin Police, the Berlin Intelligence Bureau, the Berlin Central Secret Police Investigation Bureau, and the Keon City Police have all cooperated fully. If there is anything we have done poorly, please forgive us." The Police Commissioner was stammering by now, appearing extremely constrained and afraid of causing any trouble. "There are files below for the people who can provide you with support. If you want to find them for help or have them join your investigation team, we can help you contact them and try to persuade them to join you."

Joseph nodded slightly, then signaled his guys to leave the conference room.

The group stood in the corridor, looking at each other in dismay. They hadn't expected the Police Commissioner to have this attitude at all. Of course, if this was the German government's decision, they couldn't intervene. After all, if they confronted them face-to-face, they might be sent directly to court.

However, at this moment, Edward was quietly reading the information of the people on the list, as if he had found a clue.

At this time, Ankalia noticed something was wrong. She gently patted Judy on the shoulder. Judy also sensed something was amiss. Reacting quickly, she immediately understood Ankalia's meaning.

"Scatter, quick!!" Judy screamed and lunged at Edward, who was in the most dangerous position.

Immediately afterward, they saw a terrifying scene.

A bunker-busting missile flew past them with a whoosh toward the ground. If they had dodged even a little slower, they might have been minced into meat paste by the missile's drill bit.

Boom!

The bunker-busting missile exploded about seven meters beneath their feet. The group, positioned directly above the center of the explosion, was instantly knocked unconscious by the powerful shockwave.
