And once that name surfaced, digging deeper was inevitable.
Who was Su Yu?
The answer quickly shocked quite a few people. He was Professor Wang's most favored disciple, the same person who had obtained a senior breeder certificate on the very day he registered those patents. As more information came to light, his profile became increasingly eye-catching. During his school years, nearly all of his academic records were flawless. His Trainer strength was equally outstanding—using only school-issued Pokémon, he had practically no rivals at the same level. As for breeding talent, that went without saying.
Looking at the compiled information, many people couldn't help but feel a surge of envy.
Of course, the thought of poaching him crossed more than one mind. But that idea was crushed almost instantly. Professor Wang's influence was far too great. Many of his former students already held high-ranking positions, and several of his old friends occupied key posts within the Alliance. By extension, Su Yu was practically considered half an Alliance insider. Coercion, inducement, or under-the-table tactics were all dead ends before they even began.
In the end, all anyone could do was watch with envy.
Su Yu, however, was completely unaware of the storm brewing outside.
A few days later, his breeding house was officially completed. Standing in front of the pure white building, Su Yu gave an approving thumbs-up. It looked exactly how a proper breeding house should—clean, professional, and unmistakably high-end. Chen Xier had clearly put a lot of thought into helping him prepare everything, right down to the smallest detail. If nothing else, his junior really knew how to get things done.
With the decoration materials she chose, the place could be moved into the very same day they were applied. One coat of paint, and it was ready—yet another example of the world's absurdly convenient technology.
While Su Yu was inspecting the building, Chen Xier arrived as well, descending from the sky atop her Garchomp. The moment she appeared, the children who had been wandering around immediately gathered excitedly. Even though they had only spent a single day together, the orphanage kids had already grown very fond of her.

Since Su Yu had returned, the quality of meals at the orphanage had improved drastically. He never cut corners when it came to the children. In the past, the old dean ensured nutrition was adequate, even if the taste was plain. But now that Su Yu had money, every meal had meat, and the food was genuinely delicious.
After greeting the children, Chen Xier turned her attention to Su Yu.
"Su Yu Senior, everything here is finished," she said. "Are you planning to open tomorrow? Is there anything else you need help with?"
The entire project had progressed extremely smoothly. The construction team was wrapping up, the back mountain had been fully enclosed, and the wild Pokémon hadn't caused any trouble at all. On the contrary, they were unusually cooperative. Several fruit trees had already been planted, and while they were still saplings now, it was easy to imagine how beautiful the orchard would look once they matured. Each type of berry tree had its own neatly arranged area, covering the lower half of the mountain, while the upper half remained largely untouched, preserving its original state.
Hearing her question, Su Yu laughed lightly.
"It's basically ready," he replied. "We could open anytime—even now if we wanted. There's nothing urgent left to do, so we can take it slow."
At this point, all that remained was waiting. Waiting for the fruit trees to grow, waiting for clients to arrive, and stocking up on energy cubes in advance so things wouldn't get hectic later.
Chen Xier nodded in agreement, then suddenly smiled mischievously.
"In that case, Su Yu Senior… can I leave my Ralts with you?" she asked. "I want to entrust its training to you."
Her eyes sparkled with expectation.
Su Yu was momentarily stunned. "You're not planning to train it yourself?"
That genuinely puzzled him. Handing over a Pokémon you'd just obtained—wasn't she worried it might grow closer to someone else instead?
Chen Xier laughed and explained calmly. "I still have classes most of the time, so I don't really have enough time to train properly. It's better to leave it with you. I'll come by after school every day anyway, so there's nothing to worry about. Besides, you're a Psychic-type Trainer—Ralts will definitely benefit from your guidance."
As she spoke, she released Ralts from its Poké Ball. The ball hadn't been locked, so Ralts had clearly heard the conversation. The moment it appeared, it didn't even glance at Chen Xier. Instead, it happily ran straight toward Su Yu.
Seeing this, Su Yu couldn't help but smile. For some reason, he seemed to be more popular than the actual owner.
Chen Xier looked a little helpless.
"Ralts, did you hear what I just said?" she asked. "You'll be staying here with Su Yu Senior during the day, and I'll come pick you up after school. What do you think?"
Ralts nodded without hesitation.
