After long hours, the sun introduced a new day. The ice dragon and the red eagle escaped their slumber and got ready for a new day. One of the queen's maids gave their stomachs a great munch to start the day.
They gave their thanks to Queen Deso and made their leave. They wanted to start searching for the Nogazu duo right away.
"How are we going to start our search?" Idra asked.
"I have a plan. Just give me a second," Heat said, his confidence releasing the tone of his voice.
Heat used his cloning feather ebatix, which required magical energy. His magical energy turned ten of his feathers into exact copies of him.
"You created ten clones. That's amazing," Idra said.
"These clones will help us search for the Nogazu duo," Heat explained.
Idra replied, "I'll admit, you are skilled, Heat. I never thought you had such abilities."
"I've heard that for so long. But I still have a long way to go," Heat thought to himself.
The clones spread out to cover more ground. Heat and Idra remained together and conducted a search of their own. Heat activated his ebatix that allowed him to amplify his sight, an ebatix called the Yaclifa ebatix.
Time ticked by. One of Heat's clones located the Nogazu duo. The clone teleported to Heat and Idra.
"I have spotted the Nogazu duo, and I pinpointed their location," the clone reported.
"Good work. Teleport us to them," Heat replied.
The clone used his teleportation ebatix and teleported them to the Nogazu duo. They hid their presence in a blind spot at the valley of the mountain.
"This is Mount Estyna, the mountain of grey magic," Idra said, recognizing his surroundings. The mountain almost reached the sky, covered by a dazzling gray light, from the peak of the mountain to the lowest valley of Mount Estyna.
Heat deactivated his cloning ebatix and his Yaclifa ebatix. The clones disappeared into thin air. Phalotu sensed Heat and Idra's energies and launched his attack. Heat and Idra dodged his attack and revealed their presence to the Nogazu duo.
"Who are you? What's your business with us?" Tosuba asked, her tone as loud as thunder.
"Sister, look carefully. That's Idra from the Dragon Kingdom," Phalotu pointed out.
"Oh, the selfish ice dragon. How's it been, Idra?" Tosuba said, her claw pointing at Idra.
"Is that the purple dragon, Tosuba?" Heat whispered to Idra.
"Yes, and the black one is Phalotu. I already told you about them," Idra whispered back to Heat.
"Idra, how long has it been since we last saw each other?" Tosuba asked, trying to push Idra's buttons.
"Oh, I remember. Sister, it was the day he took our title of elites," Phalotu replied, his voice mocking Idra.
Idra remained silent, but his face spoke louder than words. His eyes were flashing with intensity.
"Idra, what are they talking about?" Heat asked, his question clear but hinting hesitation.
Idra's nerves settled, and he began to clarify. "I didn't take their title. The three of us were among the strongest xtros in our kingdom. Even though our power was beneath the Breamo leaders, we still impressed many xtros. But there was always something wrong with me."
"Yes, you selfish dragon! You are and always will be a monster," Tosuba barked.
"I'm not a monster," Idra replied, his voice louder than ever.
"Of course you are. You almost killed your family," Phalotu said, taunting Idra.
"Calm down, Idra. Try relaxing and remember that we have a mission," Heat said, aiming to ease Idra's fury.
Heat attacked using his Double Elemental Feathers towards the Nogazu duo.
Heat continued, stating, "I don't know your past, but don't let them get to you. King Jaka entrusted you with this mission because you're the best. I need you to focus."
Idra collected his thoughts, took a deep breath, and got ready for the fight.
"Heat, I apologize. My feelings got the best of me," Idra expressed regret.
"We don't have time for this!" Tosuba enraged. She used tsatume on Idra. Tsatume was an ebatix that enabled xtros to use mental-related abilities.
Examples of tsatume were mind control or telepathic communication.
"What's going on?" Heat asked, confusion playing with his mind.
"Your name is Heat, right? Anyways, I just used a tsatume on your friend. Now Idra is under my control."
The thought crossed Heat's mind. "Tsatume? Psyckit knew that ebatix. Idra is under that trick. This is bad."
Idra charged towards Heat and started freezing everything. Heat countered his attacks with flame blasts. Tosuba and Phalotu slipped away unnoticed.
"Idra, snap out of it," Heat tried reaching out to Idra, but words proved to be useless.
