Chapter 5 - 05 The Potion

Boom!

A bullet hit the tree behind Tira, leaving a big hole in the trunk as she continued to run and dodge the incoming bullets.

Once in a while, she couldn't dodge in time, but she countered the bullet by deflecting it with her sword and continued to run like nothing happened.

She continued doing this over and over again while he watched from a distance and noticed that the bullet's accuracy was getting higher and higher by the day as he nodded his head in satisfaction before he cast the [Flash] spell to signal them to stop.

He then approached Tira, who was already drenched in sweat while huffing and puffing, and offered her a potion of stamina as she instantly snatched it from his hand and gulped it until nothing was left.

"Good work."

"Pwah! That was really intense; I almost done for!"

She cheerfully said while wiping the sweat from her forehead with a bright smile as he also smiled, seeing how hardworking she was.

"I think you really did a good job, even though you were being restricted."

He was genuinely impressed by her as she could dodge bullets like that, even though she wore the equipment he made that can amplify her gravity by ten times.

"Ehehehe, you make me blush."

Her cheeks instantly turned red while she scratched them in embarrassment as she puffed her chest in pride.

"Anyway, enough of that. Let's not make Clementine wait."

"Sure."

He nodded his head in agreement as a magic circle formed below them and lit them up before they transferred to another place two kilometers away.

The place they teleported to was on top of the cliff, where you could see the previous place they had been if you squinted your eyes really hard, and on the edge of that cliff was Clementine, wearing a black cloak that covered her entire body while holding the sniper he had given her.

"Your aim is getting better and better. Good job."

"Thank you, Tira."

Tira approached Clementine and praised her as Clementine nodded her head with a smile, and then they talked with each other about how to improve their training further while he looked at them with a smile, pleased that they were getting along well.

After several minutes of waiting to not interrupt them, he approached them and said his piece.

"Good work, Clementine."

"Thank you, master~"

Clementine turned toward him with a flirty smile while nodding her head in acknowledgment.

Several days had passed since Clementine came under his control, and she was adapting well despite her resistance on the first day, especially after he gave her a enhanced sniper rifle, which seemed to be something she really loved.

Although she still sometimes went out to torture people to satisfy her sadistic tendencies, he made sure she did it to bad people, as he didn't like harming the innocent if it did not benefit him.

"Although I already suspected you would be good with that weapon, I never thought you would improve this much."

Considering how good she is at using a stabbing weapon and her need to accurately hit human vital spots, he figured she would be suitable to use the sniper and hoped her skills would transfer over.

But he never thought she would instantly master it, that she could accurately shoot an unmoving target one kilometer away on the first day.

Clementine grinned wildly when he mentioned the sniper, while she raised the weapon to her chest and hugged it tightly, as if it were her new favorite toy.

"Yes! I like everything about it!"

She grinned widely as she talked passionately about it, like how she liked the sensation of aiming at her target as if she were hunting her prey, and also the sensation of the sniper's recoil when she clicked the trigger, and so on.

He and Tira just silently looked at her gently while listening to her talk with smiles on their faces.

After several minutes of rambling, she suddenly stopped talking as her cheeks turned light pink seeing how we looked at her, while she coughed to hide her embarrassment.

"Ahem! Anyway, today is the day to use the weapon on my mission, right?"

"Yeah, that's right."

His face suddenly turned serious when she mentioned that, as he took a small box from his inventory and gave it to Clementine.

"Here, the special bullet. Use it according to my instructions."

"Yes."

"Also, if something goes wrong that doesn't accord with the plan, immediately escape using the Teleportation Amulet I gave you."

Clementine took the box from his hand and saved it inside her robe, her mouth stretching into a wide grin.

"Hehehehe, don't worry master, I'll make sure to complete your mission without fail~"

"Although this is not something to play with, I'm glad you're excited about this mission."

"Of course I am~"

Her wide grin turned slightly insane while her eyes radiated malice. He let out a sigh seeing her like that, but as long as she completed the mission without a problem, he could allow something trivial like that.

He then turned toward Tira and said.

"Tira, fully assist Clementine in her mission and help her search for the target."

"Okay, leave it to me!"

Tira put her fist on her chest while smiling confidently as he nodded his head in satisfaction. He then looked at them in the eyes and said, "And I will deal with the being."

The atmosphere instantly changed, as Tira looked at him with concern, and even Clementine, who was becoming insane, looked at him with a serious face.

"You sure you'll be alright dealing with him?"

"Yeah, I am sure."

He waved his hand to dispel Tira's concern, but she still looked at him worriedly. Well, it's not like he didn't understand her feelings; after all, what he was dealing with was something similar to a god, so it was perfectly normal to be worried.

Even though he knew nothing bad was going to happen and he knew what he was like on the inside, he still needed to be careful.

After all, he is a sheep wearing a wolf's skin, but the problem is he is not just an ordinary sheep; he is the black sheep. He has no problem using evil to get what he wants.

"Don't worry about it, Tira. I can escape with teleportation if it gets dangerous."

"If you say so."

Although she still looked at him worriedly, at the very least she looked slightly at ease when he mentioned escaping.

"But still, you really have a lot of guts to face something like that, master."

Clementine looked at him with something like admiration as he turned toward her with a confident smile.

"Well, I can't exactly throw this big opportunity away, even if it is dangerous."

After that we talk with each other for several minutes, before he cast teleportation magic on himself as he looked at them seriously and said his final piece.

"Stay cautious, you two, and good luck on your mission."

""Yes, sir!""

He saw them salute toward him before he teleported to his home, leaving the two to start on their mission.

"◇"

She looked at the building in front of her, feeling slightly intimidated by how fancy the house was, not to mention the two-meter-tall golem guarding the gate to the house.

People said their power was equivalent to that of a mithril plate adventurer. To be able to create multiple of them, the best alchemist was really on a whole different level.

She wasn't sure whether she could just meet someone of that status or if she would be allowed to enter his house, but remembering the unique potion she had, she steeled herself and walked toward the gate.

Swing!

"Hiiiih!!"

She let out a pathetic scream as she jumped back in fear when the two golems on both sides of the gate suddenly crossed their halberds to prevent her from going further.

Remembering the bartender's words, she nervously opened her mouth and spoke to the golems to let them know her intention.

"M-My name is Brita! I want to meet Master Nfirea to let him check my potion."

The golem turned its head toward her, and she felt her body tense up as she sensed something analyzing her while she just stood there motionlessly, feeling slightly uncomfortable.

After several moments, the golem's eyes glowed green, signaling to her that she was successful as she let out a breath of relief.

At first, she was doubtful when the bartender recommended that she come to this place.

After all, Master Nfirea rarely accepted guests; even the people who came to his house were nobles, as he was busy researching his alchemy.

But he convinced her that as long as she brought something related to alchemy of high value, she would be allowed to meet him, for which she was grateful because she took the chance to do it.

As the gate slowly opened by the golem, she could see on the other side of the gate a beautiful maid with braided brown hair waiting for her inside.

"Welcome to Bareare House, Miss Brita. Please enter and follow me."

The maid bowed politely to her while gesturing for her to enter with a smile, as she could only stare at the maid, feeling flustered with how she treated her, before she shook her head to get rid of that feeling and followed her.

As she followed the maid, she couldn't help but glance at her face, seeing how pretty she was compared to her, but there was something else that grabbed her attention as she gulped her saliva in fear.

She gave off invisible pressure like a high-ranking adventurer; no matter how much she did and struggled, she felt the maid could instantly beat her into submission.

When she lost herself in thought about the maid's strength and her amazement toward Master Nfirea, who could hire a maid with such amazing combat power, before she knew it, she was already inside the house.

"You can wait here; Master Nfirea will come in a moment."

The maid guided her to the nearest sofa, and as she sat on it, the maid then went to the back of the room, which she assumed was the kitchen.

After several minutes of waiting, Master Nfirea appears as he walks out of the left hallway, and she sits up to greet him.

He is really young, even younger than her, in fact, as she observes his features.

He has short blonde hair that has a golden luster with bangs on the left side of his head, clear blue eyes the color of the sky, an above-average face, and unexpectedly has a lean and muscular body.

"I am sorry to keep you waiting; I am a bit busy."

He smiles politely toward her as he gestures for her to sit back on the sofa while he sits in front of her, as the previous maid comes out from the back of the room while bringing a tray of tea and puts it in front of them.

"Thank you, Ray."

The maid bowed with a gentle smile toward Master Nfirea before she goes back to the previous room.

"It's alright, Master Nfirea; I am not waiting for that long."

His smile turned somewhat stiff the moment she said that.

"There is no need to call me 'Master' when I am younger than you."

"No, no, no, no, you deserve that title, and age doesn't matter."

She really believes that; after all, as long as you have power, everything else doesn't matter. Besides, he really is a genuinely master alchemist, the best in the kingdom.

He sighed as if he was getting used to that treatment, opened his mouth, and said, "Anyway, you seem to have brought something that really interests me. Can you show it?"

"Here."

"Oh-ho."

She put the potion on top of the table, and he immediately took it, bringing it to his face and observing it intently while his eyes glowed with magic.

After several moments, he sighed and put the potion back on the table as she felt worried that she was being scammed by that armored guy.

"Do you know what this is?"

"Healing potion?"

"Yes, it is a potent healing potion that only exists in legend: God Blood."

He then explained to her the potion's effect and origin as she sighed in relief that she was not being scammed, while wondering why the armored guy casually gave her something like this.

When she enjoyed the tea the maid made, Master Nfirea said something that made her almost choke on her tea.

"...with the added value of its rarity, this potion might fetch two hundred gold coins."

"Two—!!"

She hurriedly gulped the tea in her mouth as her eyes bulged out and her mouth opened wide when she heard that number; she felt both speechless and astonished.

After several moments, she regained her bearings by taking a deep breath, but hesitation came over her when she was about to sell the potion; she felt she might save her life if she kept that potion with her.

"You seem unsure. How about this: I give you another proposal?"

She looked up at him, seeing him smile at her as he opened his mouth to talk about his proposal.
