Chapter 24 - The Tomb Robbers with the Talents of Crouching Dragon and Hidden Phoenix

Although Su Qing had never met Xue Che in person, he knew him inside and out—after all, he was his brother-in-law, so naturally, he needed to understand him.

Besides, he had a generous heart.

With housing prices so high, many poor young women couldn't afford a home. Being kind-hearted, he wanted to give every woman he deemed worthy a place to live.

As the old saying goes, "When poor, cultivate oneself; when rich, benefit the world…"

Though he was now wealthy, he hadn't forgotten his roots. Having experienced poverty, he wanted to help more people—what was wrong with that? Offering a little kindness was harmless.

Of course, Xue Ying, being a woman, couldn't fully understand his grand ambition: to build palaces that could shelter all women, making them happy and comfortable.

If she got upset and reported him later, that would be troublesome. So he investigated his brother-in-law in advance to assess the risks.

Everyone knew that a brother-in-law determined to defend his sister could be extremely destructive.

But now, he had nothing to fear. It was as if heaven itself was on his side—he held his brother-in-law's weaknesses in his hands.

Of course, one day, the tables might turn, and Xue Ying might hold leverage over him ⊙ω⊙.

"Miss," Su Qing smiled at the flight attendant. "Do you happen to know Xue Che?"

The flight attendant, who had been silently cursing Xue Che in her heart, froze. Seeing Su Qing's face, her eyes widened with delight:

"You're Su—"

"Shh~" Su Qing gestured for her to keep quiet.

Wang Yao instinctively covered her mouth. She had been distracted by her pregnancy and hadn't noticed Su Qing at first, but now she felt inexplicably excited.

After all, Su Qing was the dream of countless women—young, handsome, and brilliant. After the "Bronze Head" incident, his fans only increased.

Wang Yao whispered, lowering her voice: "Su Dong, how would you know me? I don't think we've met before."

"Xue Che showed me your photo," Su Qing lied casually, adding: "I'm Xue Che's sister's boyfriend. Xue Che is my brother-in-law…"

"Ah! So you have a girlfriend, Su Dong!" Wang Yao exclaimed, her eyes glimmering with gossip.

Su Qing teased: "Oh? Could it be you have feelings for me? But you're with Xue Che, right?"

"No, no, no—absolutely not." Wang Yao embarrassedly waved her hands. "Although Xue Che is irresponsible, I still love him."

Through his mind-reading ability, Su Qing knew she was telling the truth—she truly loved Xue Che.

Xue Che was such a scoundrel, causing her so much trouble and not wanting to marry her.

He—tui!

Su Qing despised this kind of playboy.

Wang Yao's love for Xue Che changed Su Qing's mind: he had to make Xue Che take responsibility.

"Xue Che is irresponsible? What happened?" Su Qing feigned ignorance, looking surprised.

Wang Yao hesitated, but thinking of Su Qing's connection to Xue Che, she explained:

"Su Dong, please help me! Xue Che does have feelings for me, but he just wants to play. He doesn't want a child yet, but I don't want to terminate the pregnancy."

"Don't worry, I'll help you. I strongly condemn this kind of playboy behavior!" Su Qing righteously expressed his disapproval of his brother-in-law.

Wang Yao was both shocked and delighted: "Thank you, Su Dong."

Su Dong was truly a good person—young, wealthy, and clearly not a playboy. She envied Xue Ying.

"Don't be so formal. I'll be calling you sister-in-law soon, right?" Su Qing teased.

Brother-in-law, don't blame me… it's just that sister-in-law is too charming… uh, I mean, she's a good person, and you must take responsibility.

Wang Yao felt embarrassed: "We're not even officially married yet. Just call me Wang Yao."

Meanwhile, in a remote mountain in Chezhou, two tomb robbers were digging into an ancient tomb, having already entered the passageway.

"Second uncle, how did you find this tomb? There's nobody around for miles. I'm still adjusting to working daytime shifts," the younger tomb robber said.

The two were uncle and nephew—a common setup among tomb robbers. This work is risky; only trusted family members are involved.

The middle-aged man, known as Second Uncle, shone a powerful flashlight, looking proud:

"Last time in Chezhou, the police chased me everywhere. But hiding in this mountain for a month, I discovered this tomb. Every cloud has a silver lining!"

"You're amazing, Second Uncle. Your professional expertise in folk archaeology helped you identify this as a tomb immediately, or we'd have missed it!" the nephew praised.

Second Uncle waved his hand: "Enough talking. Let's work. How come we haven't found any treasure yet?"

They continued toward the main burial chamber, finding nothing valuable along the way.

"Second Uncle, look! There's a sword and a book in the coffin! After all these years, the coffin has decayed, but these two remain—definitely treasures!" the nephew exclaimed, rushing forward.

Second Uncle followed eagerly, his eyes gleaming at the ancient sword. He bowed to the coffin:

"You've passed on, so please let these items help us living. I'll do good deeds, and may you rest in peace with a smile."

They quickly unearthed the sword and the book:

"Judging by the text, this is a Tang Dynasty tomb. After all these years, the book and sword are still intact. We've struck gold!"

"Second Uncle, check what's written inside," the nephew said curiously. Being tomb robbers, they were skilled at deciphering ancient texts.

Second Uncle opened the book, and his expression gradually shifted from curiosity to shock.

"What's wrong?" the nephew asked, leaning over. Then he blurted:

"Holy crap! It's about a cultivator!"

No wonder they were shocked—the book was an autobiography of the tomb owner, a Tang Dynasty qi practitioner. He foresaw his death and built the tomb for self-cultivation, leaving behind a divine sword.

The book also predicted that 1,300 years later, Earth would face a world-ending catastrophe, echoing the allegory of the Sanxingdui stone inscriptions.

"This sword is divine? Nobody will believe it. We can only sell it as an antique," Second Uncle recovered, examining the sword carefully.

The nephew's eyes sparkled: "Second Uncle, you're blind! We found a cultivator's tomb. If we publicize this, we'll go viral! Nowadays, live-streaming and selling goods is easier than digging tombs."

"Yes, you young folks think fast. I can't keep up," Second Uncle said.

They excitedly recorded a video inside the tomb and uploaded it online, titled:

"Shocking! The Tomb of a Cultivator Revealed for the First Time! On-site, 100% Real!"

Watching the views skyrocket, uncle and nephew laughed uncontrollably—they were about to go viral.

"Wait…" Second Uncle suddenly realized, blinking. "Tomb robbing… isn't that illegal?"

"I guess so," the nephew replied casually.

They suddenly looked at each other, simultaneously exclaiming: "Holy crap!"

"You idiot, filming a video like this—aren't we just inviting trouble?" Second Uncle scolded.

The nephew shot back: "Watch your words. She's your sister. Anyway, I just got excited and forgot for a moment."

An hour later, this talented uncle-nephew duo of tomb robbers was caught by the police.

But their video continued to circulate wildly online.
