Chapter 8 - Page 8

Even someone as strong as Spider-Gwen was sent flying instantly.

Peter showed no mercy. He unleashed a terrifying force, punching Gwen across the street. He couldn't help but mimic a classic villain's laugh:

"Heh heh…"

"Damn it… who came up with this ridiculous villain laugh? Sounds terrible…"

Unfortunately, the next moment, Peter felt nauseous and quickly stopped his manic grin.

BOOM!

His legs suddenly erupted with explosive force. Like a human cannonball, he rocketed forward, chasing the now-scattered Gwen.

"Hello… is this… the police station? I… I want to report something."

"Two Spider-Men are fighting! What? I'm not making this up—I saw it with my own eyes."

As Peter disappeared into the alley, the woman who had been robbed slowly got to her feet, trembling, and dialed the police.

She didn't dare make a sound, afraid that the weirdest laugh she'd ever heard might notice her.

BOOM!

On the street that divided the poor district from the wealthy, a figure shot backward from an alley at terrifying speed.

The impact finally sent them crashing into an office building dozens of meters away.

The force left a crater in the wall, like a small meteorite had struck.

"Ow… that hurts."

Gwen, frail by nature, had never suffered anything like this in her life.

Unexpectedly, even as Spider-Woman with powers far beyond a normal human, this was her first experience of such severe impact.

"Damn… he's back."

Despite the pain, she forced herself out from the buried debris.

Before she could catch her breath, a familiar figure launched from the alley again—this time, directly targeting her.

This time, Gwen was better prepared. Using her agility, she clumsily rolled around walls several times, narrowly avoiding the attack's epicenter.

BOOM!

Peter's next devastating strike hit the spot she had just been standing.

An ear-shattering explosion followed, like a missile detonation.

The force shook the entire office building violently, as if an earthquake had struck.

The central wall collapsed, cracks spreading outward like a spiderweb.

A massive invisible shockwave shattered almost every pane of glass in the building.

Gwen, nearby, was flung like a sack of potatoes dozens of meters away.

As she was about to crash into the street, her wrist shot out a web, gradually arresting her fall.

The force was so great that she swung like a pendulum across the street.

"Hmph… you're not the only one who can use webs."

Seeing Gwen attempting to escape, Peter didn't relent. He fired a web from his own wrist, swinging after her.

Like Gwen, he used the web's tension to navigate the city's skyscrapers.

After arriving in this world, Peter had prepared to play Spider-Man: the suit, the web-shooters—all ready.

Though not the real Spider-Man, his superhuman strength and agility made him nearly as formidable.

"Alright… I'm still a little different from the real Spider-Man," he admitted.

His confidence quickly met reality. This was his first time using the "roleplay" Spider-Man web-shooters, and they were… not the most effective.

Peter consoled himself: he had chased Gwen for several blocks without catching up, and the distance was widening.

"But don't forget—I'm playing a cold-blooded villain, and all heroes have one fatal flaw."

As Gwen ran farther, Peter planned to act like a proper villain would.

He abandoned swinging between buildings with webs. Instead, he landed on the street, grabbed a parked car, smashed the window with a single punch, and held onto the A-pillar.

Aiming at Gwen still suspended between buildings, he flung the entire car with ease.

"Heh… strong, but inexperienced as a Spider-Man."

Seeing himself about to fling her far behind, Gwen felt a fleeting sense of relief.

"Again?"

Her Spider Sense triggered. Instinctively, she used her webs to swing high and sideways.

WHOOSH!

A car shot past her, nearly grazing her body, then crashed into a nearby high-rise—thankfully, no explosions.

"That guy's insane…"

Still shaken, she glanced back—and froze.

The man claiming to be "Venom" had picked up another car, throwing it at her.

Inside sat a terrified middle-aged man, screaming in panic.

WHOOSH!

Another car hurtled toward her.

This time, Gwen couldn't dodge normally—her sense of duty as Spider-Woman wouldn't let her abandon the innocent.

She leapt using her webs, her body flipping elegantly between the skyscrapers to avoid a direct collision.

As the car briefly lifted into the air, she shot multiple webs at it.

Using the tension and her own considerable strength, she tore a few strands and dispersed the vehicle's massive impact force.

"Yes… that's it."

Her gaze landed on a dark, unlit window in a nearby high-rise.

She carefully swung the two cars toward it using her webs.

CRASH!

One car smashed through the window.

Inside, a couple on the bed screamed, falling as the car intruded. The driver, shocked, waved apologetically.

"Damn… how are you driving?! This is the eighth floor!"

The man froze, yelling at the driver trapped in the car window.

Chapter Ten: Three-Star Citizen

In a luxury apartment bedroom in Queens, New York.

Ding dong…

The sudden ring woke a middle-aged couple asleep in bed.

"Hello? This is George Stacy. Who's calling?"

Without hesitation, he answered. As the NYPD commissioner, he knew any call required immediate attention.

"Commissioner Stacy, Spider-Woman has appeared in the city again! This situation is serious, and we may need your direct intervention."

"That Spider-Woman again…"

The details were still unclear.

George Stacy sat up. "What exactly happened?"

He dressed quickly while listening.

"Sir, we don't know all the details. A citizen reported seeing two Spider-Men fighting downtown."

"At first, we thought it was a false alarm. But then ten more citizens called, claiming the same."

"Because of their fight, multiple streets are chaotic. Casualties are unclear."

"We've alerted hospitals and fire departments, and all available officers in the district are on their way to assist…"

"Sir, what should we do next? Please advise."

The officer reported efficiently and waited for instructions.

"Notify all off-duty officers. Wake sleeping officers. Those nearby, head straight to the scene."

"Mobilize all available weapons. We must take down this masked Spider-Man."

"Also, send a helicopter to pick me up at home."
