A few minutes later, Tony finally managed to throw up everything his stomach could muster.
"Sorry to keep you waiting, Mr. Superman. What were you trying to say earlier?"
Tony slumped to the ground, looking up at the stranger before him—the Superman—and wondered why he had been brought here.
Smile.
But all he saw were eyes slowly glowing red.
"Damn it, are you going to kill me?"
Tony rolled awkwardly on the icy floor, dodging the scorching red light, then got up, immediately cursing.
Peter casually incinerated the mess, burning Tony's vomit—steeped in a strong fishy stench—into ash.
His crimson eyes did not fade as he stared at Tony. Tony's face was serious. Peter said softly:
"I am honored to inform you… you've been kidnapped."
"If you're still unsure of your location, the next laser might hit… nowhere at all."
"Alright, alright, I give up. You're the boss."
Seeing Peter's blazing eyes scan his body—and eventually settle on a certain private area—Tony quickly raised his hands in surrender.
"So, mighty Superman, why did you bring me here? Not for money, I hope?"
Tony asked cautiously, secretly hoping Peter would answer "yes."
After all, money mattered to him, but not that much.
"Money? What use is that to me?"
Unfortunately, Peter had no interest in money.
"For what then? Women? Fame? Power? If it's power, I can bribe officials with money for you and even help you run for president…"
Suddenly, a cold gust of wind hit, reminding Tony that he had rushed out in just his pajamas.
Seeing the unmoving expression on Peter's face, Tony wrapped his arms around himself, shivering, and continued:
"I can give you anything you want… except myself…"
Cough cough. "You wouldn't really do this for me…"
Thinking about it, Tony felt a bit warmer, but another part of his body suddenly tensed.
"I want… the knowledge in your mind."
Hearing this, Tony finally exhaled in relief.
"Help me build battle armor, construct my very own… Fortress of Solitude!"
…
It was a night full of joy.
After completing the plan, Obadiah Stane, immersed in fantasies of fully controlling Stark Industries, fell asleep early.
Ding dong…
Suddenly, the phone rang, interrupting his pleasant dream.
He slowly got up, grabbed the bottle of expensive wine from the nightstand, took a sip, cleared his slightly sore throat, and finally answered the call.
"What did you say? Tony's been kidnapped?!"
Obadiah stifled a laugh, struggling to contain his excitement, and said in surprise to the person on the other end:
"Alright, I'm coming right now."
"Am I still dreaming?!"
After hanging up, his smile could no longer be restrained. In that moment, he was completely immersed in the joy of a dream come true.
"Wait… I just sent the plan this afternoon. They finished it tonight?"
Obadiah quickly realized something was amiss.
After all, he had only sent the collaboration plan to his private buyers that afternoon. How could it be completed tonight?
If they had that kind of ability, they would have already stormed the White House.
Moreover, it completely contradicted their plan.
"No, I have to see this for myself!"
The smile on Obadiah's face vanished. He hurriedly got up and ran toward Tony's luxurious mansion.
…
Meanwhile, at the Malibu mansion:
Countless soldiers in uniform, armed with guns, surrounded the entire mansion.
Multiple fighter jets scoured the area from above.
Inside, countless intelligence agents in black suits and white gloves searched meticulously for any possible clue.
Yet, they found no evidence of intruders inside the mansion.
That is, not counting the two magazine cover models already taken for interrogation.
"Pepper, what happened? How did Tony just… vanish?"
A black man in an Air Force pilot uniform suddenly barged in and asked Pepper directly.
"Colonel Rhodes, I don't know either. I only learned of Mr. Stark's disappearance after receiving an urgent notice from J.A.R.V.I.S."
Pepper's face was pale; it had all happened so suddenly, she hadn't even had time to do her makeup.
What exactly happened? How did Tony disappear?
Just as they were about to continue the discussion, another figure appeared outside the mansion. Before entering, they started shouting anxiously.
"Mr. Stane, you're here!"
"Pepper Potts, what's going on? As the President's assistant, why do you have such a poor impression of Tony?"
As soon as Obadiah entered, he began questioning Pepper harshly.
"Sorry, Mr. Stane, but you know Mr. Stark doesn't like being disturbed at night."
Pepper was helpless; Tony's notorious playboy habits were well known.
"Alright, now's not the time for blame. Finding Tony is what matters most."
James "Rhodey" Rhodes stepped in to ease the tension.
"J.A.R.V.I.S., do you have any leads?"
Rhodey immediately called J.A.R.V.I.S., hoping for any special clues.
"I'm sorry, Colonel Rhodes, but none of the surveillance equipment captured any footage of intruders entering the mansion. Even the satellite radar above did not detect any signs of intrusion."
"Mr. Stark… he disappeared into thin air!"
J.A.R.V.I.S.'s magnetic voice slowly filled the room, but no one could accept it.
"No video evidence, not even radar detection… Was Tony kidnapped by demons?"
Obadiah's face twisted into a fierce expression, as if Tony's disappearance had driven him insane.
Wait… could it be…?
Suddenly, Pepper seemed to realize something and spoke, a bit uncertainly.
…
Chapter Nineteen: Who Says You're the Only One? (Add to favorites to continue!)
"So… you kidnapped me for this?"
Tony sat on the floor, his face full of disbelief.
"This Superman suddenly appearing in our world… is he an idiot?!"
Of course, Tony didn't dare say this aloud, or he would likely be split in two by a beam of searing laser light—one half left, one half right.
"You just need to tell me whether you'll do it or not!"
Peter was no fool.
If I ask for help, whether he actually helps is one thing; whether he will try his best after agreeing is another.
More importantly, if he truly does help, I'd owe him a favor.
Now the roles are reversed, and I must work for myself.
"Fine… do I have any other choice?"
Tony, wrapped in thin pajamas, hugged himself for warmth, his tone full of helplessness.
"Other matters can wait. But if you don't give me warm clothes, I might freeze to death."
Within minutes, Tony's lips had turned slightly purple from the cold.
"Ten minutes."
Peter left only that sentence before vanishing instantly.
"Shh…"
Seeing Peter disappear, Tony shivered, quickly scrambling to his feet.
He glanced at the opening above the ice cave and began climbing the outer rock wall, using both hands and feet.
But less than a minute later, Peter returned, carrying a thick down jacket and a pile of firewood.
Wow.
Peter set the firewood down and watched Tony climb the less-than-two-meter rock wall with amusement.
"Didn't he say he'd be back in ten minutes?"
Tony found himself in a dilemma, unsure whether to continue climbing or go back down, his face full of embarrassment.
Suddenly, his foot slipped, and he slid down the rock wall like a salted fish.
