Not to mention humans—even the ants in an anthill, along with all their families, could have been wiped out.
"Cease fire."
At the general's order, the battlefield-like scene of continuous explosions instantly halted, and everything returned to calm.
Almost everyone assumed that under such devastating firepower, the monster had been completely destroyed.
However…
ROAR!
A louder, more ferocious roar followed.
A massive green monster leaped from the flattened ruins, soaring into the sky.
It glided for several miles before slamming heavily into the ground, creating a crater nearly ten meters deep, then launched itself into the air another hundred meters.
"Damn, it's charging straight at the ground troops."
Observers in the fighter jets had barely processed the monster's incredible resilience before realizing its intent.
But it was too late.
With just a few leaps, the green monster landed amidst the tank formation.
Its arm, thicker than a tank barrel, grabbed one and hoisted the entire tank.
With a sudden twist, it released the tank, using inertia to fling it directly at a pursuing fighter jet.
"My God… it missed?"
Hundreds of kilometers away, in a classroom at a high school in downtown New York, a student broke the silence with a sudden noise.
All eyes in the classroom turned instantly, including the teacher's.

Chapter 25: Gwen's Invitation (Add to your favorites and continue reading)
The minor incident in class caused no serious disturbance.
Yet, other students couldn't help but notice that timid Peter Parker seemed like a completely different person after the break.
Peter closed his eyes again, focusing on the "movie" playing in his mind.
Yes. When concentrating, his super hearing allowed him to collect sounds into a detailed, immersive panoramic map—far more advanced than any satellite radar.
"Humans are utterly defeated… what a pity…"
Watching, the Hulk—a massive figure—suddenly accelerated forward, shoulder-checking several tanks.
He tore the turret from a tank by hand as easily as uprooting a plant, leaving only the base.
He grabbed the cannon, using the entire turret as a hammer, flipping every surrounding tank in a few swings.
Even Peter couldn't ignore the Hulk's raw violence and dominance.
The human army seemed completely incapable of standing against him.
The monster effortlessly overturned a formation of dozens of tanks.
The sheer force and violent intensity were awe-inspiring.
Even with Peter's current abilities, he could do something similar—maybe even more easily.
But he admitted he could never replicate the Hulk's "violent beauty" that radiates from a mere glance.
"Violence may seem beautiful in a moment, but elegance is eternal!"
Watching the Hulk annihilate the ground forces within minutes, destroy a dozen tanks, and finally crush two armed helicopters, Peter was awestruck.
The monster then surged toward New York City.
Fighter jets pursued, missiles whistling toward the charging Hulk.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Most missiles missed, exploding harmlessly on the ground, flames lighting the air.
One missile, however, flew straight at the Hulk from behind.
As if anticipating it, the Hulk sidestepped, grabbed the missile mid-air, spun 180 degrees, and hurled it back at the pursuing fighter jets.
Boom!
A fighter jet exploded.
Using his immense jumping ability, Hulk leapt hundreds of meters in a single bound, covering miles per jump, gradually evading the human military.
Finally, he disappeared into the wilderness.
Seeing the pursuit end, Peter relaxed his super-hearing.
"Dr. Banner is an outstanding scientist, but unfortunately, current circumstances make it unsafe for him to join my research team."
When Peter had previously kidnapped scientists worldwide, he had considered Bruce Banner.
But due to an accident during an experiment, Banner had been exposed to gamma radiation, becoming the Hulk.
For Tony and everyone else's safety, Peter naturally abandoned the plan.
In fact, he had also declined other candidates, such as Dr. Hank Pym (Ant-Man) and Victor Von Doom, a.k.a. Doctor Doom…
…
The morning lessons ended quickly.
By noon, Peter went alone to the cafeteria. After getting his meal, he found a quiet spot to bask in the sun and eat leisurely.
"Peter Parker, can I sit here?"
Just as he sat down, a pleasant female voice spoke. She didn't ask permission and sat directly across from him.
"Please, go ahead, Gwen Stacy."
Peter barely needed to look to know it was Spider-Gwen.
"If I told her now that I'm the venomous spider chasing her a few days ago, would she just leave silently?"
A mischievous thought crossed Peter's mind.
"Forget it. I can't guarantee she'll leave—but she'd certainly smash her bowl on my head without hesitation."
Peter decided not to let her win.
"I heard you hit Flash in the nurse's office today?"
Gwen, sitting across, hadn't touched her food. She casually stirred her mashed potatoes while watching Peter with unabashed curiosity.
"No, he started it himself and accidentally hurt himself."
Gwen stared at Peter—this previously timid boy, now calm and collected—as he leisurely ate and spoke slowly.
"You've really changed."
Gwen suddenly stopped stirring, her expression serious. She stared at Peter intently, trying to read him.
"Everyone changes. I think I'm in a good state now. What about you?"
Peter paused eating, meeting her gaze without fear.
"Hmm… I think… you seem fine."
Even Spider-Gwen, heroic and confident, felt a twinge of shyness under his steady gaze. She lowered her head and stirred her potatoes.
"Peter, since my family moved away when we were kids, we haven't really talked face-to-face like this."
Gwen finally scooped a spoonful and slowly ate.
"Yeah, I guess that's true," Peter murmured, keeping his head down.
As someone who had just crossed over from another world, he had no authority over these matters. All he knew was that in his memories, Gwen was indeed his childhood sweetheart.
Unfortunately, at ten, her father got promoted to deputy police chief, and they moved to a safer, upscale apartment.
They lost almost all contact until meeting again in middle school.
Gwen had grown beautiful and elegant, instantly the most admired girl at school.
Peter, timid and bullied, had become withdrawn.
Even seeing his childhood love again stirred feelings in him, but he dared not speak.
Of course, this no longer affected the Peter before us.
He only thought: given the current storyline, was he really in Universe 65 from the comics?
"School just started today, so we're free this afternoon."
Gwen set down her spoon, looked up expectantly, and slowly waved at Peter.
"So, do you have time this afternoon to come with me and see the company where I'm currently interning?"
