KAYLA'S POV:
Students in the class were chattering with each other.
I was playing with my hair unconsciously, blushing while thinking about him.
Annie noticed and came over to me.
"Why are your cheeks pinker than my blush?"
My smile widened.
"Is it for… Hao Ran…?"
I lightly patted her arm.
"Shhh… we're in class. Stop teasing."
She chuckled.
The teacher entered, and we all settled into our seats as he started the lecture. As usual, I wasn't concentrating. I never did. Why do I do that? Huh? In the end, we have to prepare on our own for the exam anyway. The teacher's lecture just goes over my head. Neither his lecturing skills are good, nor are my listening skills.
Suddenly, the teacher slammed his desk.
"Kayla! Pay attention!"
I immediately straightened up, pretending I was listening.
He acts like when he says "pay attention," we actually will.
What a fool.
The teacher said,
"Kayla, come here and read the paragraph."
I stood up, not even knowing which chapter we were on. I didn't even have my book. I snatched Sevi's book and went to the front of the class to read.
When I looked at the page, everything seemed completely different, like another language.
"When did our course get converted into Russian?"
The class burst out laughing.
The teacher said,
"You're holding the book upside down!"
"Ohhh… right…"
*I fixed the book and tried to read.*
"Mr. Gill… went with his nap… hu...."
"It's nephew!" the teacher interrupted.
"Yeah, right… nephew… to the barbarian shop…"
"Barber shop!"
"Okay, okay…"
"Where he saw a man with… red hair… and a white face…"
"What is he?" *the teacher asked.*
"Irish!"
*The class burst out laughing again.*
"A clown, Kayla!"
"Irish people also have red hair!"
"That's not red! That's strawberry copper blonde, Kayla!"
"Whatever! What's the difference? It's still red!"
"Kayla, just… just go back to your seat and pay attention. Seriously."
Sevi was still laughing. I patted his head with his book and shoved it back at him roughly.
"Here… donkey."
