Chapter 32 - CHAPTER 32: Debt?

KAYLA'S POV:

Next day at school…

Annie came up to me.

"Here." She handed me a piece of paper.

"What's this?"

She leaned in and whispered,

"You told me to find out where Hari does his part-time job. So here, this is the address. He works at a café called Label Café."

"Label Café? That's a weird name…"

"I don't know. I just wrote down the address."

"Okay, thanks." I smiled gently in gratitude.

"Anytime."

I opened the paper, glanced at the address, then quickly folded it and slipped it into my bag pocket.

---

After school, I went there.

Label Café…

I noticed a poster on the door,Hiring Part-Time Workers.

An idea popped into my head, and I giggled.

As I saw Hari approaching the café, I quickly hid inside the shop next door, peeking out and waiting for him to go inside so I could leave.

Just as he was about to enter, a girl came up and grabbed his arm.

What? Why is that girl holding his arm…?

Hari immediately pulled away and went inside, completely ignoring her. She started screaming at him, but he didn't even look back. Frustrated, she stormed off.

Why was she screaming? And who was she?

I needed answers.

I followed her.

After we were a little far from the café, I grabbed her arm.

She looked shocked.

"Who are you?!"

"First tell me, who are you? and why were you screaming at that man a few minutes ago?"

"None of your business!"

I pulled out my purse and handed her 200 pesos.

"You think you can buy me?!"

I sighed, pulled out 1,000 pesos, and handed it to her.

"Now tell me."

"First tell me who you are to that boy."

I pulled out another 500 pesos and gave it to her.

"None of your business."

Satisfied, she finally spoke.

"He owes me a lot of money. I want it back. I don't know how he earns it, but I want it now. It's been a long time since he paid anything."

"How much?"

"Why? Are you going to pay it for him?"

"Just tell me how much."

"Thirteen million."

Thirteen million?! What did he do with such a huge amount of money?

She suddenly got a call and walked away, leaving me alone.

I stood there, filled with hundreds of questions.

Why would he borrow that much money? He doesn't look like someone who would take loans from random girls…
