THEO'S POV:
It was 3 a.m. now. I had been searching for her the entire evening and night.
Every corner. Every place in the city.
Nothing.
I checked all her friends' houses, she wasn't there either. I called her again and again, until I finally found her phone lying on a doorstep. She must have left without realizing it wasn't with her.
Oh God… where could she be?
Now I was searching the forest. I knew being alone here at this hour wasn't safe, but I had no choice. I had to find her. She couldn't be in trouble.
I prayed silently as I walked.
"Kayla! … Kayla!" I shouted. "Where are you?"
Suddenly, a whisper came from the bushes.
"Theo…"
"Kayla?"
I rushed toward the sound.
She was sitting on the ground, her arms wrapped tightly around her legs. Dirt and scratches covered her body. Her clothes were torn, stained with mud.
I immediately took off my jacket and wrapped it around her.
"Are you okay?"
She looked up at me with teary eyes.
"It happened, Theo… no matter how much I tried to control it… it happened. I couldn't stop myself. I ate him…"
"Who?"
"There were two men. They were driving a car on the road. I ate them… both of them."
She broke down.
"I was so angry… I couldn't control myself. My demonic side took over me," *she cried.*
"No… no… don't cry," I said quickly, pulling her close. "It's okay. We'll figure this out. Don't worry. Everything is going to be fine. Come on, let's go."
I took her hand and started walking, but she stopped and looked at me again.
"Not home… I don't want to go there."
"Then let's go to my apartment," I said softly. "You can stay there for the night."
She nodded and stood up.
I noticed her feet were bare, she had lost her shoes. I gave her mine and led her to my bike.
She held onto me tightly as we rode, resting her head against my back.
